TA-DAH!!!

reason enough; enough said ...

i'll be honest ... i totally forgot about xanga ... when your life just does a complete 540, some things never end up back in your pocket ...

well, so i've said that my life has done a complete 540 and it has ... i've taken a break from school - no, not burned out, not given up - just chosen to pursue another life's dream of mine for the time being and absolutely LOVING it ...

what has happened?  i'll write about it later ... better yet, i'll show you about it ... but for now, my little dream has woken me up with a bout of wimpers ... so 'til then ...

all in all this intern has been a solid experience thus far . . . after the last motion i ranted about, the partner gave me another motion - this time opposing a defendant's ex parte application . . . the motion was granted, which is great!  and the partner really thought i did a great job, so now i've been assigned another motion - motion to amend complaint for various reasons, on the same client matter . . .

i'm sure this all sounds super boring, but really i'm extremely happy about it all!  considering i only just finished my 1L year, this is a lot to do!  anyways . . . just wanted to share!

eesh! 

talk about stress!  partner calls me up this morning and asks if i can do a project for him . . . i'm like sure, why not?  so he continues and asks me to file a motion for extension of time to file appellants' opening brief . . . excuse me?  what?  oh yeah, it needs to be filed today . . . the original due date is today . . . umm . . . right . . . have i EVER filed a motion before?  *sigh*  . . . he wanted me to do the research, b/c it was in fed. ct. and blah-blah-blah-blah-BLAH!  so 4 hours of scrambling around to draft up this document . . . *sigh*

well, i got it done and the secretary got the declaration and couriered it off to court . . . nice taste of litigation, don't you think?  no thank you!  fed. cts. are so particular!  anyways . . . i'm sure it wasn't a big deal, but it was pretty stressful at any rate . . .

ok, i'm leaving now . . . i didn't even get to touch the mediation brief today!  blech . . .

ahhh . . . the joys of working . . . how interesting is the mold issue?  ehh, not so much . . . irregardless that is what i've been dealing with for the past few weeks . . . turned out i started with the litigation firm and so far it's been pretty interesting . . . reading and summarizing depos . . . researching . . . answering form rogs, special rogs, RFP's . . . and currently working on a mediation brief (mediation scheduled for 07.07) . . . fun, huh? 

on a separate note, to show that i still do have some sort of a life . . . i think i'm heading out to arizona for the 4th . . . i may even stay the week after just to vacation and relax . . . circumstances really beg me to take that week off and i may just allow myself to give in . . .

another tangent . . . finished reading a pretty amazing fictional work titled the "Life of Pi" by jann martell . . . it's a tale of a boy and his tiger who survive 227 days out in the pacific . . . actually, i think the premise of the tale is true . . . but i really enjoyed the author's ability to narrate and captivate . . . haven't read anything worth reading in quite some time . . . i was thoroughly satisfied with this book . . .

tangent 3 . . . bf bought me a new cell phone . . . it's one of those fun picture phones!  we decided that he should just add me onto his existing plan since sprint would give him free mobil to mobil . . . too bad we could have saved over $1500 this past school year on phone bills if we had done this earlier . . . ah well, no use lamenting over what's done . . .

ok, i think i've bored myself writing about nothing . . . i'd be surprised if anybody finished reading this entry . . . what's everybody doing for the fourth?  i would love to come out and go to the taste and grant park . . . it's been . . . shoot . . . maybe 4 years?  maybe even longer than that . . . what i would give to have a big fat slice of chicago style pizza!  gino's or giordano's . . . yumm!  ok, off to lunch!
