  • well i just got a call...and i got the job! i'm not as excited as i should be b/c it's not like it's my dream job and i'm sure it's going to be harder that i think (part of the job is sales and i don't know how good i'll be at that part) but it's $8.00/hour and i got my schedule for this and next week (i start friday) and it's pretty packed. my first day is from 9:50 to 8:00. i have to work weekends which is okay but i'm hoping i can make sure i get next sunday off since that's when my party is. i have tuesday and thursday off this week so i'm thinking i can change days (i hope.) i can't take mom to her doctors appointments but that should be okay. maybe she can just schedule them around my schedule.

hope your vacation with m is going swell.

  • steph is coming to my party!!! woo-hoo!!! i guess seths graduation party is the day before so she was coming to town for that. i called her yesterday to ask her something and she let me know that her and justin will be there for a little bit before they leave for nyack on sunday...woo-hoo!!

i went on a job interview yesterday for the picture taking place in walmart. the lady has two positions open and i think she did around eight or nine interviews. i did okay. the thing is i don't have a lot of 'selling' experience so every scenario i talked about was dealing with my nannying position or student teaching. oh well. it will give me some experience if nothing else.

  • mom, kari, aubreigh, and i went shopping for my graduation party yesturday. well...kari and mom picked stuff out while i played with aubreigh and kept her occupied for as long as i could. we got some fun things at party city, food and tableware from sams, pop and other things at walmart and more pop at kmart. the back seat of our car was filled to the brim. i also had to stop at the mall and make a build-a-bear that is dressed in a cap and gown. he's pretty awesome.

moms surgery went really well last week and everything was going good until yesturday. she was seeing flashing lights every few minutes. her little paper she got said to call the doctor if she saw flashing lights. so she made an appointment for the afternoon and she went to it. i guess it's not that big of a deal. it's somthing dealing with the fluid in the eye and the brain interpreting that as flashing lights. and because she's older it's happening. and there's some swelling too, which is understandable. the doctor said not to worry about it and to call if it got worse. she has another appointment there tomorrow.

i applyed to two jobs for the summer. one is at the Y in edinboro and the other is for the picture place in walmart. i did online applications so i'm not sure if they even went through or anything like that. i'd like to work at a clothing store like aeropostel or old navy because i would get a discount on clothing. but as far as i know none of those places are hiring now.

  • it's been a hard days night...and i've been working like a dog

i don't normally put a title on my entries but i felt like it with this one. i'm not sure why. maybe it's because for once in my life things aren't too bad. i better not talk too loud, though, or someone might hear and it will be nothing but down hill.

i finally graduated...last saturday. wow...to think it's only been a week but its felt like two. the graduation was long and boring. well, andrea, you know this after sitting through your graduation and the graduation of m. we had a little over 700 graduates. about 3/4 of them were there. education majors were the last ones to go. i was in row 21 of 25. and i was on stage for maybe 30 seconds. oh well. i sat by two people that had interesting comments and it kept me amused. the weather was great and it's too bad they couldn't have had it in the stadium. there's no shade there but it still would have been great. afterwards mom, kari, joan, cj, grandma, and i went to the eagle hotel and ate there. the food was good and grandma wasn't too nuts (which was a great positive). then sunday when i went to church three people gave me cards with either money or gift certificates in them. my people at church are so nice. they didn't know about the party (and they still don't...i have to remember to take an invitation to hang up on the door so everyone knows).

wednesday mom had her first eye surgery. i guess they gave her a whole new lens that's magnified. once both of her eyes are all healed up she'll have to get new glasses. but that's okay because the prescription won't be nearly as strong as it has been. thursday when i took her to the doctor to get her patch taken off she could see right away. WITHOUT her glasses. and she could read like the first four lines on that chart thing. she goes back next week to see how everything is healing. but so far it's all great. she can't read anything very well but that's okay.

the day before my last day at the middle school we went to a seawolves game. totally dull but my kids are awesome and some of them came a sat with me in the bleachers (i stayed there incase anything happened). but guess who i saw there in charge of the fun things like throwing shirts into the crowd and running the different races...i'll give you a few clues...was in our class in high school, tall, brown hair, totally annoying, initials r r....give up? his first name was spelled ryan but you can't pronounce it like that....it's pronounced like fruit rhine (haha...he is a fruit). he didn't see me because it wasn't stupid enough to go over and talk to him but still. what a dork.

i sent an invitation to my party to steph...hopefully she'll come down. it's on a weekend so she can spend saturday with her family and sunday with me! i'll totally understand if you don't want to come if steph doesn't come. we can go out another time and do something.

  • well i graduate in less than a week and it's kinda sad but i'm not that excited. i'm glad that i'll finally be done with school after five years but that means i have to find a job. and since most teaching jobs aren't posted until around the middle to end of august (yeah...seriously) i need to find some way to earn money over the summer. i was going to go to waldameer to get a job but it's so far away and with gas being as high as it is i'm afraid i'd be spending my whole pay check just to pay for gas. i haven't seen any job postings for any other type of work that i'd be suited for.

i'm having a graduation party some time in june. it will be at my church. i don't think i'm going to invite amber.

mom is having eye surgery a few days after i graduate. the laser surgery didn't do anything so now she's having her cataracts removed. they're doing one eye and then a while later they'll do the other eye. i'm glad that i'll be taking her instead of grandma b/c she'd do nothing but bother everyone and i'm always worried that she'll upset people so much that they won't let mom come back. she's nervous that she won't be able to see very much after this. and that's always a possibility. i really don't know how i'd handle that. life is hard enough as it is without having to worry about my mother stumbling around the house b/c she can't see very well.

i guess dad is looking for a car for me. he keeps saying all wheel drive but i think i need four wheel drive b/c of the stupid weather we get around here. he called me up the other day to try and talk me into a car that gets great gas mileage but i told him that i need to worry more about getting some place during the winter than what my gas mileage is. he didn't like that answer at all. but i don't care...i don't like him very much.
