I just want to talk about the book and no one has read it yet and it's frustrating as hell.

Colleen, Ballard and I sat there friday night reading that "What will happen in book seven" book, considering the theories. I decided that most of them were too obvious, or outlandish, or J. K. Rowling wouldn't do that to us. Well, they're ALL true.

R.A.B is Regulus Black.
Snape is a good guy, because he was in love with Harry's mother.
Harry is a seventh horcrux.

It appears that either there were leaks from J.K., or maybe these people are adept at figuring out the subtle clues left my J.K. They obviously spent a LOT of time poring over the books looking for clues. They were right. Rowling is very good with hints, mysteries that can be solved by closely inspecting the other books.

The end is extremely exciting. I never have felt my pulse quicken before when reading a book, but it did. I was almost in tears at Harry's almost-death. It's a really cool ending, and I've gone back and reread it twice. J.K. does a really good job making it dark and dramatic, and despite the massive character death, it wraps up nicely in the best way I could expect.

I think that's one of my main problems with it. That it wraps it up. Not only have I reread the end because it's exciting (and as usual the magic that keeps Harry alive/gets him the Elder Wand is kind of confusing), but also because it's the first time in the series that there are no mysteries. It's almost fascinating. Voldemort is officially dead, Harry is alive and happy. There's nothing left hanging, and I think I kind of miss that. The anticipation of what's going to happen next was half of the fun of the series. Waiting for years for a book to come out because you were hoping that the problems in the last book were resolved (this obviously being more true for the fourth, fifth and sixth books than the first 3). Voldemort's death is exciting, as are the events leading up to it, and Harry's utter confusion about what he's going to do, his bravery about what he KNOWS he has to do, are all splendidly written. J.K. has proven herself a master at capturing complex emotions with words, and it's fantastically done in Deathly Hallows.

I really wish there were more of these great books to look forward to. Rowling never has to write again, with billions of dollars coming in, and that's just in America. She says she's going to work on some adult detective novels, though. There was talk of keeping the world she has created in Harry Potter, but I can totally understand that after a decade of the same characters, she would want to break away. It saddens my inner HP nerd that it's over, but it ended really well, went out with a bang, and I'll have to read some of her future work.

Fuck I need glasses. Turns out that, despite the fact that madeline actually COMPLAINED of vision problems, that my vision is worse than hers. In fact, if it gets any worse I'd be required by law to get glasses anyway or I wouldn't be allowed to drive. I hope I can pull off the attractive with glasses look. Lest I go all "recursive layer of ugliness" and get depressed about how I look again. I think that glasses look bad on me but I suppose once I get used to seeing myself with glasses I'll get over it. I hope the frames I picked actually are good. Madeline claimed that they were good, they went with my hair, but I knew that it didn't matter what frames I chose, I would think that I looked awful.

I also need to do something with my hair. It's sort of grown out of it's cut. And I definitely need to lose some weight. Lots of weight. At least 15 pounds. 6 or so to get back to being not technically overweight. *siiiigh*

I should really stop generalizing and ranting to people who have much more problems than I.

Ok, so I had a really bizarre dream.

We were at some kind of seminar thing at Centennial, but the auditorium was bigger. And I didn't know most of the people there. I was still angry at Mel and I was sort of taking it out on everyone. So Mrs. Watson comes and decides to put me in this prison cell that looked sort of like my bedroom, and gives me a plate of spaghetti and orange soda and sets some gangly senior to keep me in there. So then I escape, and the gangly senior hints that the soda was poisoned anyway, and I go back to the seminar. On the way I'm accosted by a bunch of teachers with clubs. So I get this huge bruise on my knee, then go back and take a seat in the front row of the auditorium. After this guy is done speaking he asks if anyone would like to speak to a reporter. There are 20 or so reporters running through the lobby of the school (which looks like the lobby of the Baltimore Aquarium) talking to students about the seminar. I say I would like to speak to one, because I was just attacked by my teachers. Mr. Pfeiffer doesn't want to fire any of his teachers, so he keeps all the reporters away from me, and I run out into the parking lot chased by a bunch of thug teachers. It's pouring rain and I lose my shoe. Then I run into Mr. Sanders and my parents, who are walking ralph, and say hi to them. They decide to put me on a train going to Mary Washington. The train was not like the metro or anything, it was more like the streetcars of San Francisco, except it was made out of bamboo. The stop at Mary Washington was several ninja attacks later and in the middle of a forest. 30 feet or so away from the train stop is this concrete wall with a gate in it that is apparently the entrance to Mary Wash, but I can't see any buildings past it because of this bright light. So I go walk through the gate and then realize that the bright light is the glare coming through my bedroom window and the sun in my face and I wake up and am blinded.

Interpret THAT, why dontcha?

This next week's gonna suck, unless Andrew can figure out a way to do something.

My whole SUMMER is going to stink. I'm not going to have a family vacation, I'm not going to have a senior week vacation, I'm not going to go ANYWHERE, I'm just going to be staying here and working. I talk to my parents about not having anything fun happening this summer and they say "Well, there's all kinds of stuff that needs to be done around here!" Fun. Work. Yay.

Fuck that shit.

Mel and Rachael, apparently, decided to go to Disneyworld sometime during midterms, and now they're both going with Leon and Alena and I will have no one around for senior week. I thought maybe I could buy my own ticket, seperate room and everything if I had the information.

Ok, this was funny.

I was telling Ben and Rachael and Lauren about the Sunday Morning Live Christmas pageant. This is what happened.

Me: Yes, it was Saturday Night Live based, I was Martha Stewart in the Apprentice Sketch.
Lauren: What does Martha Stewart have to do with the Apprentice?
Ben: She did her own show or something. Who was the host?
Me: Jesus Christ. Played by Andrew. Ballard.
Ben: ANDREW AS JESUS?! He's like, 3 Jesuses!
Me: *doubled over with laughter*
Ben: I mean, I respect his confidence, being a huge person is not a bad thing, but......Andrew as Jesus?!

It's mean, but it was freakin' hilarious at the time.
