im at home for spring break.

this is what was going on tonight as i sat at the kitchen counter and painted....

"mom, where's my little bronco football?" -- jessica wandering around the kitchen/living room

<whispering> "i hid it" -- mom to me very softly

"did you hide it?, i can't find it anywhere..." -- jessica

"maybe it will turn up again when its summer and you can play with it outside, and not hit my lamps playing inside"-- mom

"oh whoa! did you really hide it? i've never seen this side of you before, and i never actually hit your lamps, i may have come close...." -- jessica

"yes you and dad did hit my lamp, it didn't fall over but i specifically remember you hitting it, and it teetering" -- mom

"i don't think we ever hit it"-- dad, joining the convo

"where is my mini bronco football?!!??!? i really want it!" -- jessica

"keep looking" -- mom, being sly

me: laughing

wow. home brings many surprises. its good though, minus the snow on my SPRING break.

i just got back from iowa where i spent lots of time sitting with my grandparents. my grandpa doesn't remember my name, and he can't carry on a sentence. its really sad. last night he went to bed at 8 pm, then woke up at 10pm with his coat and hat and mittens on, ready to go out. we were like, where are you going.... his long drawn out answer was that he didn't know... church? he wouldn't go back to bed. my grandma sat up with him until after midnight while he read hymns. my grandma is amazing. she is the most godly woman i know. she loves my grandpa so much, and she rarely shows her frustrations. they've been married for 55 years.

a week from today i go back to school which i am so excited about but, i have to say goodbye to all these wonderful people at home. ugh.

hmmm, life. edp

happy birthday lindsey. even if you say you are only 19... i will allow it. you can be whatever age you choose.

funny thing:

"dad is that yours?" - me pointing at the skintimate shaving gel on dad's side of sink.

"yea" - dad

"dad, thats womens shaving gel" me and my sister laughing.

"no, its not" - dad

sister and me still laughing

"oh..... wait, 'for a close shave around the knees'" dad reading the back of the 'paradise tropical fruits' bottle.

dying of laughter.

on a less funny note i get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow.

i don't really know what i have been doing the past week of my life since i've been home. but.. its been good. thats all i remember. i finally unpacked and cleaned my room, but the thing is, i move back to chicago in like 2 weeks, so i ask myself... "does it really matter?" i wonder when i will stop moving my stuff from one home to another... one state to another... one country to another.... will i be content spending more than 3 or 4 months in one place? i hope so, bc moving is annoying.

christmas was really good.
