  • My husband

Some of my husbands fondest memories of times with his Dad are when they would go fishing.  This year Jeremy went and got his fishing license, a fishing pole, and equipment.  Whenever, he has time he likes to go for a few hours and see if he can catch anything.  It's something that is relaxing for him and I hope the tradition of taking our children will be something he desires to do, especially if we have a boy.

    Maybe grandpa can come too!

It was so funny when he came home with his new fishing pole.  He had to immediately figure it all out.  These are the pictures that I took of him gearing it up with line and etc.  He had no idea I was taking these pictures, through the screened window.

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, we went fishing together. Since I don't have a fishing license I can't fish so I just stand around and watch (and give direction when I forget to hold my tongue).  That is what I did Saturday but Sunday I got smart and took a bag full of painting supplies and a camping chair.  I did some watercolors, looked around and the scenary, and just talked with Jeremy every once and awhile.  Here are some pictures of yesterday's afternoon at the Susquehanna river, fishing.

    No bites!  Unless rocks count.

God only knows how much time I will have with my husband, on this earth, but I am so grateful for every minute, every day, every month, every year, He is has so graciously given to me with Jeremy.  I can't imagine a better husband for me.  What an abundant blessing Jeremy is from the Lord.  I can't thank the Lord enough for my wonderful husband.

  • Yesterday's Blessing

Yesterday I walked around my yard trying to figure out a good spot for some plants that need to get in the dirt.  An error I keep making, in gardening, is getting a plant, having no clue where to put it, and keeping it in a pot until I do, and then when I do put it somewhere I put it there so the plant doesn't die, not because its the best place for it.  I know . . . the mark of a novice plant lover.  On with the story.

God delivered a blessing to me right in my own back yard--right under my nose, some might say.  You know the back yard that I posted about awhile back?  that my husband and I worked on?  well there are some rose bushes out there that the previous owners left behind and they are what I call the wild plain looking ones with a great fragrance.

But right by some trees there were what I thought more of the same but they weren't!  They were a light pink instead of a white and they were the beautiful typical rose style.  They smell good too.  Here are some pictures that I took of them this morning.  None of these have been modified.  The lighting and appearance are all God's hand in the camera.  I hope you enjoy!

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in a while.  I have been really busy and have been trying to better prioritize my time away from the computer.  I have stopped by and commented and that is probably all I will be doing for a while.  I hope you are all doing well, that you have an excellent week and weekend, and that God continues to bless you all in a tremendous way!

  • Staying Cool

    100_3968.jpg

So far today I've had two cups of coffee, read from the BIBLE, read an awesome testimony of a life that was impacted by Christ and made an impact on others, and I've made plans for the rest of the day.  Today will be very busy but its all about shopping which is something I enjoy very much!!!

    100_3965.jpg

June is a month packed with celebrations.  Ofcourse there is mothers and fathers days but in addition to that we have both of our mothers birthdays, a sisters birthdays, and this year we have a baby shower and a wedding (both this Saturday).

    100_3962.jpg

So today I am off shopping and visiting with a friend in the area!

    100_3961.jpg

It has been really hot and humid lately here in upstate NY.  Hot and Humid are two things that don't agree with me.  I'm so grateful for A/C in our house!

    100_3966.jpg

I'm so grateful for the word of God which keeps me cool, in this hot and humid world.

So are you all staying cool?

If I were a frog I'd make my home in a creek

    100_3922.jpg

where the islands and shores are filled with mint,

    100_3916.jpg

where I can look to the hills and see beatiful Iris,

    3903crop.jpg

and see the waiving flag of purple above to high.

I'd invite my friends to sit on the rocks and play in the waters below

    100_3926.jpg

and we'd laugh and splash and have a jolly old time.

    100_3923.jpg

I'd be so thankful for this quiet home with a creek filled with so much beauty

    100_3924.jpg

and thank the Lord for giving me a little peice of Heaven on earth.

About Me

  • I am a child of God--saved by grace 6 years ago, married for 5 years to a wonderful husband and man of God. We are currently on the waiting list (as of 11/9/07) as adoptive parents and are very excited (and nervous) to get the phone call that will tell us that we'll be parents. We are trusting in God while we wait and learning to count our blessings constantly!
