| decisionsso you're the captain of a ship, and you're off to bring your ship to pick up a huge amount of treasure from the farthest stretch of the continent, but you run into a problem. While at sea, you hit a marine object and puncture a small, but damaging hole in your hull. Your hull is huge, and your crew is able to patch up the hole as much as possible, so you can continue to sail onward if you'd like.
Here are your options:
A) You sail to the nearest port, get the damage fixed properly, and sail another day, but risk losing the treasure to other ships.
B) Sail part of the way to some midpoint, where you'll be able to profit from some other valuable treasure, but compratively less valuable than the original.
C) Keep sailing until the breaking point is near, find the nearest port then, and then repair your ship and move forward,
D) Sail until you get to your original intended destination with a win or die mindset, endangering the lives around you, but risking it all to capture the most precious reward.
We make this decision every day of our lives.
yes. every day. | | |
| imperfectionsPeople call those imperfections, but no, that's the good stuff. - Sean, Good Will Hunting
I realized that God made all of us flawed on purpose. If he made us perfect, then our lives would be useless. But if we accept this fact as reality and do nothing about it, then that would make His intentions just as useless as if He made us perfect.
None of us are perfect because He wants us to work on our imperfections.
and cuz our salvation is dependent on Christ, not ourselves.
crap. im 5am babbling again

| God's WillSo this dude fell off the boat, and the boat rode away w/o knowing. He's in the middle of the ocean. Is he scared? Maybe a little, but after some prayer, he comes to realize that it's God's will for him to have fallen off the boat so that God can save him. So he stops being scared, cuz he knows that somehow God's gonna come.
After an hour or so, a fisherman comes by. 'Hey, you need help?' he asks.
"No, its ok, God's gonna save me," the dude proclaims confidently.
A few more hours pass by, and a shark approaches. Normally, people would be afraid of such a beast, but the dude is completely calm. 'Hey, you need a ride? Grab my pointy shark thing. I'll bring you back to shore," the shark unexpectedly offers.
"No, its ok, God's gonna save me," the dude refuses politely.
After a full night and day, a large wave comes splashing by the middle of the ocean. It picks up the dude, but the dude defiantly swims back to his original position in the ocean, desperately not to lose his place. The battle with the ocean makes the dude tired, and after a couple more hours, he finally sinks to the bottom of the ocean and drowns.
The dude makes it to heaven, and finally gets to meet God.
'GOD!!! How come you didnt SAVE ME? I knew that you were gonna come!!!' cried the dude.
To this, God replies, 'I tried. THREE TIMES. I even sent the talking shark, you idiot."
Whats the moral of the story? Sometimes we think we know what God wants. Sometimes we're even right. But lots of times, we dont know exactly how its gonna come. And when it does come, sometimes our pre-conceived belief of how its supposed to come clouds our sight of God's Will as it appears right before our very eyes.
yeah, i feel like that guy.
