| So I hate fowarding emails because I always miss people and it takes time. It's a lot easier to just copy and paste over on Xanga. And since I haven't written a real post for a while, I decided to keep not doing that and post this. It's really funny, especally if you like puns! So here you are:
> Something to make you smile. > > > Sad news... > > Please join me in remembering a great icon of > the entertainment community. > > The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a > yeast infection and trauma > complications from repeated pokes in the > belly. | My mom sent this to me today. I thought it was neat and true.
Christians - By Maya Angelou
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'." I'm whispering "I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven."
When I say... "I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak And need His strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed And need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible But, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

| Okay, so my mom sent this to me in an e-mail today and I thought it was so funny I had to put it on here. The first one is my favorite.
6 reasons not to mess with children.
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him ".
A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."
The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."
The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
"Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face."
"Yes," the class said.
"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
"Take only ONE. God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples.
It doesn't matter how many people you send this to, just remember if it made you laugh, your friends will laugh too.
Hope you all enjoyed that. I know I did. Well time to do homework. Shalom out! | | |
| So the next 40 days are going to be a struggle with me. I never participated in lent, you could say because my church doesn't do that. I never understood what lent was, I think some people take it for granted and so I've never done it. I learned tonight if you give something up for lent or if you are focusing on something, it's got to be something that's going to be hard, something that you need to rely on God's Great Strength to get you through. So I have decided to take no naps for 40 days and I'm not watching movies in my spare time. My spare time is now being taken over by God and His Word, praying and lifting up prayer requests to Him and praising His Holyness. And of course if I have any other homework it will have to be done to. It's going to be a struggle, yesterday I took a 2 hour nap plus watched an hour and half long movie, you know how much homework and God time I could of gotten done in 3 and half hours?!?!?! So that's the first thing I wanted to share.
The second thing is something that has been bugging me for a while, but really got to me tonight. For those who don't know I lead a prayer group here at Tabor. We meet one day a week for about 20 to 25 min. Lately not very many people have showed. I've struggled with this because I feel like its something I'm doing wrong, which I don't think I am. I understand that people become busy and have other things to do, but how hard is it to show up ONE day a week for 25 minutes! It's not very hard. The reason I struggled with this more tonight was because I was the only one at prayer group. That is the first time that as happened and I pray that that doesn't happen anymore. The purpose of praying before SP&D is to lift up the band, the day, the week, listen to what people are going through, praise God, and pray as a commutiy, lifting those prayer requests and praises to God. Prayer time alone with God is extremely important, but God also wants us to pray as a body. The scripture I've had on the prayer list for the past 3 weeks or so is Matthew 18:20 which says: "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." God will be there even if there are only two or three. I'm praying that people will realize the importance of prayer and start coming. I prayed hard tonight and I even cryed and it was a good prayer time, but I wish I could have shared that expericence with the other members. However God was there, and that is important.
Anywho, since I'm giving up naps for a while I'm going to go to bed early. I have a test tomorrow so I have to get up early to study for it.

| Well, well, well... It's been a while I must admit. Sorry I haven't been updating more often, you all can dry your eyes now! This week has been an intersting week. Monday night I won a date with Aaron Jenkins. It was fun but I did kind of embarrass myself. Oh well, people will forget by next year. Then Tuesday Kristy Nelson and I went to Chipotle and then to see the movie When A Stranger Calls. That movie freaked me out! I think I screamed like 10 times durning that movie. haha. After that we went to Walmart and I got 2 new movies and Golden Girls season 4. Then Wednesday was my best day. I started the day out reading my Bible, which I hadn't done in a long time and needed to do, then I prayed and that's how my day started and it made such a difference. Then I fasted yesterday for the mission's conference and I was really glad I did that too. THEN SP&D was rockin' awesome! Luke Haidle was speaking, he is the TREK coordinatior. I'm going to do TREK when I graduate so was so pumped the whole time. After SP&D I went over to Chris's house and watch American Idol and then I went to bed. Today I started off my day by reading my Bible again and I tell you what I am having a great day. I know every day is not going to be great even if I start it off reading my Bible, but for the past two days I know that reading my Bible has helped. I've been distant from God lately and getting back into reading my Bible and praying more I can tell a difference in how my days go. So anyway I find that pretty neat. Well, that's all for now. Hope everyone has a good day.
Shalom Out!
