| I feel old. By the end of this week, I will have golfed at least 56 holes. We played 18 on Monday for sub-sections, and we won. I played 2 yesterday during practice. We played 18 today during practice. I don't know what we're doing for practice tomorrow. We'll play 18 on Friday for our Sections meet. And, the way it looks now, we have a chance to go to state... that would be the first full week in June... which was when I was going to visit Shelby... darn golf. But golfing that much makes me feel stiff and tired and old.
My graduation open house is Friday! I get to rush home from the meet and then be happy and perky all evening. Joy. No... it will be a lot of fun... and my tiredness will cause me to be goofy.

| My life is still consumed with golf. And that doesn't make for very interesting blogging. But, for those of you who know a little about golf, at our last meet I had a 45 on the front 9, which is a record low, and had a birdie on a par 4!! I was super excited. I ended up with a 102 on 18 holes... I visited the water a couple times and went ob once. Whoops. Not counting practice, I golfed 45 holes last week. Anyway, here are some conversations that have been had during golf events or bus rides.
Brittany: "You know whats a funny word? 'Porpoise!'" Alyssa: "What does that even mean?" Andy: "Isn't that like, a dead person?" Me: "No, that's a corpse." Brittany: "It's like a turtle, right?" Me: "No, that's a tortoise, a porpoise is a dolphin." Brittany, to Andy: "Ha! I was closer." Andy: "Well, I was close. I mean dolphins swim and people can swim." Brittany: *can't think of a come back* Me: "But not all people can swim." Andy: *tries to come up with a come back, has a blank look for a few seconds, then folds his arms and looks defeated, brightens* "How about you come up with big words and we try to guess what they mean!" Me: "Ok.... um... incorrigible." Everyone: *guesses for a while, then gives up* Me: "It means someone who is very set and unchangeable in their ways." Brittany: "So, kinda like concrete! Right?! Am I close?" Me: "Uh... sure." Brittany: "'Cause concrete is solid, yeah!! Guys! I got it!!"
On another occasion, we were golfing in VERY cold conditions, it was about 45, windy, and raining. Everyone had about three sweatshirts, gloves, hats, and wind breakers. Brittany: "Guys! I feel like an igloo!" Everyone: *laughs, knows what she means, but thinks that's an odd way to put it* Nikki: "I don't think I have ever heard someone call themselves an igloo." Brittany, about 5 minutes later: "Oh!! I mean Eskimo!!
| Wow, prom was a blast.
Spencer and I.
We couldn't do the traditional garter picture, because I was the only one who had one... so we did this instead. Jessa, Bethany, and Hannah are being scandolized at my garter.

| No, I didn't disappear. I'm still here. But I really haven't been in the blogging mood. Golf's going well, work is picking up, school is almost over. Oh, my sermon went very well on Easter morning... but if anything was good about it, it had nothing to do with me as I finished it that morning at 5:30. Musta been Divine Intervention.
Last weekend I went up to see a friend of mine at college... we went out clubbing, which is one of the most fun things I have ever done in my life. Buuuuuttt, I kinda got in trouble for it. I tried to reason that fun is like investments... the riskier things you do, the more likely you are to have a high return. But it didn't work so well. Drat it all. Prom is next week. I have a red dress. It will be a good time.
And chiefly though O spirit, that dost prefer Before all temples th'upright heart and pure, Instruct me, for thou know'st: thou from the first Was present, and, with mighty wings outspread, Dove-like sat'st brooding on the vast abyss, And mad'st it pregnant: what in me is dark, Illumine; what is low, raise and support; that to the height of this great argument I may assert eternal Providence, And justify the ways of God to men. -Paradise Lost by John Milton
| I am way more excited about golf than I thought I would be. My mom is quite surprised. But I'm actually doing really well this year! My first meet I shot a 55 (on 9 holes), not spectacular, but good for my first meet of the year. Today I shot a 49, my first time ever being in the 40's! But yeah, to do as well this year as we did last year, we need four girls who can consistently be in the 40's, and three of them are that good, and I'm the only other one who's gotten there... I really hope I can keep it up. Ya know, people say golf isn't a physical sport... but dude, you try walking over 2 miles, carrying a bag, and swinging a club every 50-200 yards for over two hours... and then tell me golf isn't a physical sport. We were discussing this on the way home. We eat more, yet lose weight during golf season.
I'm giving the sermon for the sunrise service Easter morning... So, I think I should start writing it... or something... =P
It's so nice out! I can't believe that less than a month ago we still had snow. It was about 85 today and I got sunburned!! Just a little bit... so it doesn't hurt or anything, but that's how nice it is!
