Chivalry is Dead: a girl and her dad killed him

The most interesting thing is that the people who support resurrecting the old traditions of men treating women right don't let it happen or make the structure of the encounter so rigid, cold and stale, that nothing enduring, anything resembling natural affectionate regard has to occasion to develop.  They claim that the "coincidences" will happen.  But how do you create those coincidences?  The facts are, when all the cards are stacked against you, you need a mighty wind to blow down the a well constructed house of cards.  Soon I will promulgate my comprehensive critique of courtship and dating and show conclusively how the flaws of both methods can be avoided with my 'new' old method of ......

Policies

Due to the favorable terms of an insurance policy purchased last year on my bike, I have received a total replacement, minus the old pedals.  How is that for value: I use a bike for a year, wear it out, and get a new one for only 25 dollars?

The Rapture

Today at work felt like the rapture.  I probably saw 7 people all day, an average of one per hour.  Usually I see over a hundred.  Also, I flunked, or at least miserably underachieved, on my History test.  I had to write four essays in an hour and eleven minutes, and I only finished three.  The last one was 45% of the score too, so I definitely scored in the "C" range of the already slided grading scale.  I'm optimistic though, maybe I'll get a B-.
