| Well, I am back from college! I have been at home since December 15th and I go back to school in two weeks. Wow, the time has really flown. I am really enjoying my break. I have spent a lot of time with friends and my family. I get a little nervous when I think of going back. I know it will be fun, I just am not looking forward to the tests. Next semester will be a lot harder than this one, I'm sure. I will be taking 18 credit hours and will be in the opera which will require a lot of practice. Add to that my required 12 hours of logged practice time plus studying for tests and quizzes, and you get one tired freshman! Plus, at the end of semester I do not have a summer at home to look forward to. I will be travelling with the college ensemble to represent PCC. It will be a blast, I know. But I still look at it a little anxiously. Well, I have things to do so I had better get going. ^_^ | | |
| =]Well, today is Sunday, September 4, 2006. I’m writing this in my dorm with the hopes that I will be able to go to my parents’ hotel room and get on the internet there and update for all of you guys.=] I just finished lunch. For the majority of my days here, I’ve eaten by myself. It’s not a complaint; just a fact. I think I’ve shared two meals with people out of three days. Sometimes I actually enjoy sitting by myself. I like to watch people and think, and sometimes I just sit and talk to God. So it’s not time I waste. =] Plus, when I’m by myself I eat much faster and then I can get on with other things that need to be done. Unfortunately, I have nothing to get done. I don’t have all of my things yet; my parents are bringing it all tonight. So since Friday, I pretty much just hang in the dorm and do…stuff. I can’t get online, so I’m like…blahhhhhh. But the other girl in my room who is our PL (prayer leader) is in the process of getting a book of poetry published. When she found out that I am into art, she wondered if I might be interested in illustrating some of her poems. She read like five or six to me, and I really liked some of them. So I did three sketches in like an hour and she was really impressed. I’ve begun to put them on watercolor paper, and when I get my stuff, I’ll have my paints and I can get started. When they’re done, I’ll try to get them uploaded. But meh. You know about my internet situation. *erk* But mostly I’ve just hung around the room waiting by the phone for someone to call. I’ve called like ten people with my number (some of which I had to call back because I gave out the wrong extension >_< ) and no one has called my back yet! It’s not like I have any else to do. And Thursday, classes start so I won’t have time to sit around and talk to people. *sigh* I really miss you guys. I’m not homesick or anything, but it’s so odd not to be able to talk to all of you everyday. O_O It’s like the twilight zone. For those who have my number, feel free to call in the afternoon. =] Please? For those who don’t have it, you can email me. And if you want my box number, I can give you the address, but you have to ask for it. Through email. And it might be a while. =/ But I do love mail. Like tons. Ensemble tryouts are on the 11th!!!!!!!!!!!! So please Please PLEASE be praying about that! If I got on, it would pay for my college and I could travel around the US during the summer singing at churches across the country. It would be so much fun! Arg! I keep thinking of things to draw from the rp, and I’m running out of ideas because I can’t see it. =[ I need my scanner so I can try to get the ones I got done up before my parents leave the hotel! Then it really will be an eternity until I can get on. It already feels like forever. Since I have nothing to do, I think I’ll take a Sunday nap. That sounds like fun. Hope to get back online soon! <333 | | |
| So Long, Farewell...Arg, I got bored of re-writing all my entries from Japan. >_< Maybe I'll do it some day...Anyways,
I leave for Pensacola Christian College tomorrow evening, or Friday morning. As I've said before, I will not have access to the internet (unless very limited) so I will not be able to update. This will be the last update for a while. I will try to get on some weekends to fill you all on how things are going, but I can't guarantee when. I've been busy busy busy packing and getting ready. Actually, today was quite interesting.
I got up around nine (I was up till 2am packing) and rp'd for a bit. Then I decided to get something to eat. Well, my room is a pool house as some of you know, and is seperate from the house. Unfortunately, I had left my keys in the house. My parents and siblings have long gone off to school and work, so I was locked out. And starving. (by now it was around 11 and I hadn't any breakfast yet) So I go around and check all the doors and windows, but no luck...UNTIL I get to my parents' sliding glass doors. w00t! So I open it up.
I had forgotten they were using those doors as a wall. Their large four poster king size bed is butted up against it. >_< So I tried crawling under the bed, but I got stuck half way. *curses hips* So backed up outside (on the pool deck). By now I am a tad scraped up and wet. So, I go and get a small PVC side table off of the pool deck. The deck is wet, I'm wet, the table is wet...not a safe combination. So what do I do? I stand on it. And then jump over the head board. WHEEE! XD I landed victoriously in a heap on my parents' bed. Then I went around to unlock the back door and put the table and stuff away that I had used to break in. After everything is back to normal, I go to the kitchen for some grub.
Would you believe a second before I touch the light switch, I mean I was only an inch away from it, the power goes out. ARG! And I had my wisdom teeth pulled on Thursday, so the only things I am allowed to eat are soft. So I would have to use the microwave to cook something. Luckily, I found some sugary breakfast bars and a marshmallow pie. About a half hour later, things were back to normal, and I went to packing and rp'ing. It was an interesting series of events, lemme tell ya.
I'll miss you all so much!!!! | | |

Thus begins the journey…
Tonight at church Tim sang a solo! XD It was such a blessing. Plus, I really really like his voice. It’s not classical in style; his voice is smooth and natural. And might I add on key? It sounded great. :)
After church, the realization that I will be in an entirely different country began to sink in. I started to get pretty nervous. But then I looked up and saw one the most spectacular sunsets. Rays of light jutted from behind the billowing white clouds, and they all seemed to glow like a Thomas Kinkade painting. (Might I add that God does it better?) And then I looked behind me. The trees were so pretty. And there was even a stray bolt of lighting now and then. Between the beautiful trees, the atmosphere, the chirping crickets, and the grass tickling my toes, I felt much better. It was such an awesome time of fellowship with God. The closer I got to the trees, the more the voices of others drowned out. It was so nice just to walk and talk with the Lord. He was there, showing me that He would be with me throughout the trip. The same sky is here and there. It was just amazing.
As we left the church, we said our goodbyes and then headed out for dinner with the Mills. The toilet paper dispenser in the restroom was a piece of junk. The thing wouldn’t give me the paper, so I yanked on it. It came halfway out of the wall and attacked me! I have scrapes on both hands…>_<
We told Mom, Alex, and Ashley goodbye, and here I am, at the Mills’ house, waiting for 3am. I refuse to sleep! I’ll save that for the plane.
I’ll write more later.

| Entry for Father's Day, June 18, 2006Vacation Bible School just ended last week. It lasted for five days and was hosted by Bro. and Mrs. Arnold. Bro. Arnold is a chalk artist, and he draw black-light pictures during the lesson, and gave them away to the kids as prizes. My sis, Alex, brought the most visitors so she got first pick. She chose the one of Stephen’s stoning. It was a lot of fun.
One of the most entertaining things was watching Tim and Jason's reaction to the puppets! ROTFL!!! Tim was hilarious; he would just laugh and laugh, especially at Felicia the Fox. Felicia (Mrs. Arnold) was a singing fox, and had this really funny, high-pitched laugh. Jason's reaction was funny, but he was slightly less than amused.
I had a lot of fun helping, even though I can't do much more than sit and keep the kids quiet because of my surgery.
Yesterday (Saturday) I went on visitation. We had to be there at 9:30 AM. Also going was Bro. Rossiter (our youth pastor), Bro. Mills (deacon), Tim, Jason, Alicia, Billy, Ashley (my sis), and I. It seemed everyone was half-asleep! I had waked up at 6:45 without an alarm, which was probably an act of God. I hate getting up early with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns! GRR. After drinking some very bitter coffee, we drove to a housing development nearby to pass out fliers about our church. We got to split up into three groups and each take a different street area. I went with Bro. Rossiter and Alicia. Bro. Mills took Ashley and Billy, and Tim and Jason got stuck together. lol. Tim wanted me to go with him and Jason, and I wanted to go too, but Bro. Rossiter said I needed to go with him and Alicia. I had a lot of fun, though. I like getting one on one time with Alicia. I don't get to talk to her very often in church. It seems like we're always too busy. Bro. Rossiter was as crazy and fun as ever. hahaha.
After visitation we headed back to the church. We played some ping-pong until Bro. Rossiter was ready to take us back home. When I got back, I had to do dishes, hose the pool deck, do the laundry, wrap Dad's father's day gifts, finally eat lunch, and help with dinner. I was exhausted.
Today is of course, Father's Day. The teens split into boys and girls services today, and Mrs. Rossiter had a great lesson. It reminded me of my need to memorize Scripture. After church, we went to my Grandmother's for lunch. We hung out there and I listened (omgosh, I didn't do all of the talking! =O ) to all of my aunts chatting it up in the dining room. I had a headache, and I really just wanted to go home. I get bored over there, they never talk about anything that interests me...
Anyways, I got home and finished writing out the chords to a song I'm going to do in church. Tim is going to be doing the mandolin with it, and hopefully singing some tenor, too. =) And...I just realized I forgot to give them to him tonight. *headdesk* Oh well, he'll just have to get them on Wednesday! Or I could email them...I dunno. Probably do both.
Shortly we left for evening services. I practiced a little bit with Tim for an offertory. We mostly messed around on the guitars, playing non-sense stuff. =P Billy was there, and he picked it up and showed off by playing the intro to When September Ends by Greenday. hahah. It was really good, but it's like the only thing he can play. XD Alex, my youngest sister who is 9, was in a program tonight with the other Bible club kids. (Patch the Pirate; I was in it when I was little!) It was really funny watching all of the preschool kids sing, and then the older kids do their skits. *snicker* Funny stuff, lemme tell ya.
Then after services, we hung around at church for a while. Oh man, we took some crazy pics tonight! The kids in their program had these neon yellow paper cut-outs that were supposed to look like sun rays. They put them on their head during "Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam". All of the teens were walking around holding them up on their heads. I managed to get mine to stay one without hands! hah! I had so much fun. I went around and I got pics with everyone. Matt is a dork. He made this weird face and refused to smile properly. Oh well. I now own blackmail. *evil grin* I wish my pic with Tim was better, though. hahah He's so dang tall I look like a midget. I mean, I'm only 5'2" and he is 6'3". I’d ask him to take another one, but I don’t want to seem obsessed or anything. haha. So yeah. There are still a few teens I need to get pictures with when they get back in town. I want a photo with everyone before I leave for college.
After goofing off for about an hour or so, we went to dinner at Cracker Barrel with Tim's family and Bro. and Mrs. Mills. I had a lot of fun. Lots. =) Tim and I played checkers on the giant mat. Alex, Tim, and I also took turns playing winner in tick-tack-toe on our napkins with crayons. lol. And I got everyone on our end of the table to play rock-paper-scissors. =D Tim and Ashley and I talked a lot. It was good. Way good. After everyone had finished eating and were just sitting around talking, Tim asked me to get up and play checkers with him in the gift shop. XD So I did. (duh!)
As we were getting in the van to leave, Tim runs up and scares the pee out of my mom. xD She scared him back I think when she screamed. hahahahahaha. Scared Ashley, too. It was great.
So today, was a good day. =D
Tomorrow, we are having Jason over for dinner. He is going to be house-sitting for us while we are in Japan, and my mom and sister are in Ohio. He needs to find us way out here in the boonies, and our dogs need to meet him. He'll have to take care of our two little dogs, cat, and fish while we are gone. But, he gets to watch satellite tv, swim in our pool, and eat all of the food Dad bought for him. Lemme tell you, Jason could survive for a MONTH with all the food he bought for him! =O And good stuff, too. Like pizza rolls, ice-cream sandwiches, corn dogs, Gatorade...you name it!
Well, I'm tired. It is almost midnight, and my router just shut off, so I'm going to have to copy all of this stuff I wrote and paste it in tomorrow, which will have become Monday. So don't get confused when you read this. =P
Goodnight, all! <333 | | |
