| Alright, it appears I need to update... oops. Not much has been happening with me which is why I hadn't done it yet, but i'll go ahead and write something anyway. As of now, I am working my butt off flight instructing at the university earning a whopping $12/hour ... you think that's a lot but it's really not since you only get paid that when you're actually flying, which is maybe 15 hours a week right now for me at most. So, really people who are earning $6/hour working 30 hours a week are making just as much ... they just have to do more work than I do to get it. Ok, i'm gonna get off that topic before I get shot for being paid to do just about nothing except teach our countries' future pilots how to fly.
So, I was talking with amanda the other night, and we got into a discussion on what we want for the future ... like if you could have a perfect future, what would it entail ... well here's mine. I realized that i've only got 6 months of school left before i'm into the real world in a real job, doing real work, making a living at it, pretty scary stuff if you ask me, but i'm REALLY looking forward to it. ANYWAY ... about the future (CAUTION, it has the potential to get mushy here) ... I would love to be privilaged enough to fall in love with one of my best friends and end up with her for the rest of my life and raise a family together. I would live wherever she could get a job (assuming that I could commute easily enough to my job flying somewhere) and we could raise our children (2-3 of them, no more than that) in a good home, in a great community where they could get a great education and make lots of great friends. Having all of this while supporting them doing what i absolutely love to do would just be so perfect, it almost seems surreal. I just hope I can be so lucky someday. Some of you who don't know me very well, or some of you that do know me very well may be asking yourselves who I want to fly for someday if I had the choice ... well, many of you probably know my answer to that is Southwest Airlines ... but what if that didnt' happen, what then? My second pick would be FedEx Cargo or UPS Cargo ... I really don't have any desire to work for an on demand business company because it's just way too unscheduled, and let's face it, raising a family with a job like that would be damn near impossible.
So there ya have it folks, that's whats been going on with me lately. Nothing new, nothing old, just the same stuff, just different day trying to work my way to the top.

| So, what's happened since my last post? ... I went down to Florida with my dad and got my Single Engine Sea plane rating. Which just so happened to make me an instructor for SES as well, two for one, how about that. Anyway, the flying wasn't great due to the weather and the plane my dad and I had to fly, but oh well, flying is flying and I can't complain too much about that. Spending time with my dad was just awesome though since I pretty much never get to see him since he lives in Baltimore and I'm always working. Anyway, got back from FL on Saturday night around midnight, got my computer back up and running (it's about F-ING TIME!!!), and then just passed out. Sunday I worked on my computer some more teaking it up a bit (still haven't gotten it to the standards that I want, but i've only got one more thing left to do), and then had jesse, jake, and coz over to watch the SuperBowl. Lindsay came over shortly after the guys arrive and stayed the whole time, while bethany, amanda, and meghan came by for about a half our and then headed off. Good to see everyone again. There'll be some changes taking place in my life in the not too distant future, so I guess the only thing I can do is just live life day by day and take it as it comes. That's about it for now, time to get back to flying ... or at least sitting on my ass at work waiting to fly.

| Well folks, here's the deal ... I passed the MEI checkride, so that's over and done with. No more checkrides to be taken at OSU (woohoo ... no more Burton!!). I'll be flying down to Florida with my dad this upcoming weekend to get my SES (single engine sea rating), so that shall be fun as well. After that checkride, i'll be done with checkrides for about a year (until I get a job when I graduate in December ... keeping my fingers crossed on that one). So that's about the story of my life for the next 11 months ... go to school 12 hours a week, and fly as much as I possibly can the rest of my free time ... sounds like fun. | | |
| not sure if anyone reads this anymore, but i'll go ahead and write
something in it anyway. so what's been going on with me ... i've
got my CFI, my CFII, and working on my MEI (should have that in a week
or so). After I get that, i'll be done with checkrides for a
while, which means not so much studying for a while (except for a
rather important test this summer which has a good possibility of
kicking my ass hardcore). i'm moved out of allen over christmas
break and in with one of my buddies on the flight team north of campus
... about a 10 min drive, not too bad. i'm gonna try to make it
over to my old place as much as I can this semester, cause quite
frankly, everyone I miss over there aren't my friends, they're my
family here. so, to Bethany, Erin, Lindsay, Cozmo, Jesse, Shingy,
and Amanda, i love you all, and I don't know what i'd do without you
guys. it's scary to think that I will be done with school in 11
months ... I really hope I can get a decent job when I graduate, cause
flight instructing really isn't going so well right now (hopefully that
will improve over this semester). yes, i'm only 20, and a flight
instructor ... yes i'm the youngest instructor at OSU ... yes i'm
graduating early ... seem impressive? it may be, i dunno, sure it's
beneficial, but sheesh, i've got a year to prepare for the world after
college, and i have no shittin clue where to start. there's gonna
be some pretty big changes coming up in my life in the next few months,
so that'll be interesting to see what happens with that. ok, this
is getting rather long, so i'm gonna go study for my next
checkride. peace out.

| Hokay, so, here's how it went down ... this time a bit more cheerful ...
Over the past few weeks i've been slammed with stuff that i've been needing to take care of, but have just put it off for so damn long it killed me now. Mainly grades, combined with finances, and flying. It all really boils down to a time management issue ... apparently I didn't posses such a thing. Oh well, i've gotten things back on track now, so it's all good.
I hope to be taking my CFII checkride early next week before I go home for Thanksgiving Break. I'll be pretty ticked if I don't get it done unless it gets put on hold due to weather (can't do much about weather, so there's really no point to get upset about that ... weather is looking good anyway). After Thanksgiving break, and assuming that I get my CFII checkride done before hand, I will be starting on Multi-engine Instructor license. My goal is to have both CFII and MEI done before I go home for Xmas break this semester ... so doing this along with studying for exams is going to be ROUGH ... and i'm actually looking forward to it, it's amazing.
That's about all that's going on right now. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving break, eat lots of Turkey, and get fat ... my goal is to gain a good 5lbs (haha, yeah right) before I come back. Ciao | | |
