There's a recession?? WHERE??!!

Hey!!  There's a recession?  WHERE??  Every business I drove by tonight in southwest Louisiana - well - they were doing business!!  People are spending their money!!  People are still buying booze and cigerettes!  And there's a recession??

Food rationing??  When the grocery stores and the restaurants all run out of food, THEN, I might stop and get concerned.  But even then, if God sent manna from Heaven to feed the Israelites back in the day, why wouldn't He do it for us now??

So, if you get worried about no food or whatever - take a drive around your local town and check out the parking lots!!  PEOPLE ARE STILL PURCHASING GAS!!  People are STILL SHOPPING at Walmart, Target, and the different stores!!   I don't care if gas goes up to $5 a gallon - I'm still going to buy gas and fill up my suburban!!

People are going to spend money on what they WANT to.  Not just what they NEED.  Yes, we need to be good stewards with our money.  Tithe that first fruit and give over and above that.  GIVE OFFERINGS!!  Don't be AFRAID TO GIVE!!  Especially to God and His business.  If you pay GOD's bills - He'll help you pay your bills!!

There are so many people living in fear and talking "poor" talk all the time.  Quite frankly, I get tired of it!!  "LIFE and DEATH ARE in the POWER OF THE TONGUE!!"  So, you're either speaking life over your finances or death.  Believe me, I know what I'm talking about.  I did talk death over my finances...and we just didn't have anything at all.  We started speaking LIFE over our finances and guess what!  LIFE came into our finances.  I can go to Walmart now and take care of our needs without sweating it!!

I challenge you to speak life over your money.  If you go around saying "I don't ever have anything."  "My money just goes down the drain."  Believe me it will.  "If this situation or circumstance continues, I'm going to go bankrupt."  Oh, yes.  You will.

But if you start saying OUT LOUD - "Money cometh to me for the sake of the Gospel!"  "My needs are met and I'm out of debt and there's plenty more to put in store!!"  Afterall, we are to leave an inheritance for our children's children!!  IN other words, we're to take care of our children and then have an abundant supply of MONEY for our children's children!!

The devil wants you to live in FEAR over your finances! The devil doesn't want you blessed.  It scares people, MOST BELIEVERS in Jesus Christ to talk about money!!!  I never understood that!!  The devil is the one who comes to kill, steal, and destroy you and whatever it is you have.  Money, joy, health.  You can overcome him too.  GREATER is HE that is IN YOU than he that is in the world!!  He's nothing but a roaring lion.  He might sound scary, but in reality.  He's nothing!  People give the devil too much credit and God not enough!!

So, when you feel FEAR coming against you in your mind.  You tell the devil to get out in Jesus name!!  God is on your side!!  FEAR is the opposite of FAITH!!!  Have faith in God CONSTANTLY!!

[COLOSSIANS 2: 6, 7]:

(6) "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord,
so walk ye in Him:

(7) "Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith,
as ye have been taught, abounding therein
with thanksgiving."

HEAR THE WORD

The above scripture states that we become established in the faith
by hearing the Word of God via teaching, that we develop our faith in God for a
specific blessing by putting oneself in a position to hear the words of God,
in context, on that specific subject matter.

So, for example, if one wants to grow in one's faith for the healing of
any physical ailments and infirmities, sicknesses and diseases, as provided
by the Atonement through Christ Jesus, one must put oneself in a
spatial/temporal position to hear the word of God taught on that very subject
matter spoken and/or explained.

Apparently, faith, which is a spiritual "substance" according to [HEBREWS 11: 1], "COMES TO" a believer every time he/she hears the word of God on a particular subject, and begins to add substance in the spirit realm
to whatever it is he/she is HOPE-ING for, just like when one pours concrete
in order to lay the foundation of a building.

What one hopes for is likened to the plans of that building and then,
with meditation, confession and thanksgiving,
faith comes from God- over time - to be the substance out of which
hope's plans are made.

Once enough faith is at the building site in the spirit realm,
that which one is believing God for will suddenly materialize!

Going to a Christian church gathering or worship service is the easiest
way for most people to hear the word of God spoken and explained.
One can also watch Christian church broadcasts and channels on TV
(like the "Sky Angel" and "Trinity Broadcasting" Satellite Networks). Probably the
most convienent way to hear the word is to listen to it on CD's and
cassettes. I recommend that buying CD's and Cassettes of the teachings of
Brother Kenneth E Hagin. His ministry is located in Tulsa OK and can be
found in the directory under "Rhema Bible Training Center".

SPEAK THE WORD

In America, where Bibles and commentaries are widely available and
easily attainable, a person who can read can go and get some of them for use
in personal, private meditation. Then, according to [PROVERBS 4: 20-22],
after one has spent sufficient hours meditating (muttering softly to oneself)
on the Biblical statements pertaining to the provision of healing for the
Christian believer in the atonement provided by Jesus Christ,
healing will manifest and one will EXPERIENCE health in one's "whole body".

A person's healing will begin to manifest the moment that that person
receives the first word of scripture on the subject.

Our heavenly Father
explains that:

(9) "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields
seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

(10) "so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
it will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

(11) "(then) you will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace..." [ISAIAH 55: 9-11)

We have some of God's words in the Bible (many others hold the universe
in place) and the above passage states that if we speak one of His words out
loud, thereby, attempting to return it to Him, that it will not return
"empty" (void) but rather, "will accomplish the purpose for which (HE) sent it."

People often ask "how will I know when I have enough faith
to be healed?"

The answer is simple.
God's word WILL accomplish the purpose for which He gave it to us.

Knowing that, and using our earlier example about physical
healing we can deduce that we will know that we have enough faith when the
healing fully manifests.

So our job is to keep hearing the word concerning
healing, confessing the word concerning healing and thanking our heavenly
Father for our healing UNTIL IT manifests.

"When the Gospel is preached with purity and power,
it should force us to reassess the entire direction of our lives.

The Word of God breaks our train of thought,
cracks open our encapsulated doctrine,
shatters our life of comfortable piety and well-fed virtue.

The flashing light of Jesus breaks new paths everywhere.
The Gospel is no Pollyanna tale for the neutral
but a cutting knife, rolling thunder, convulsive earthquake
in the world of the human spirit."

(Brennan Manning, The Signature of Jesus
(OldTappan, N.J.: Chosen Books, 1988), p. 19.)

Hey LindaMaria,

You asked WHERE the recession is?   Well, I keep up with financial news in our area, and I can tell ya, we have been hit hard where I live in Central CA by this recession.  Yes, it does exist, and it is kind of trickling its way across the country.   The thing is, you may not be seeing it because people are living in the false hopes of their credit cards.  They don't have the cash to pay within their means, so they are building debt.....which means more interest payments to the banks, and the government and less $$ in people' pockets.....it's a vicious cycle!

Here where I live businesses are closing or downsizing, , people are losing jobs, gas prices are now over $4 a gallon and many people can't afford to put gas in their tanks to go out and look for jobs (which are pretty much not there anyhow!), welfare roles are up, food stamp distributions are up, grocery prices are 26% higher today than they were 12/1/07, real estate is crashing, record numbers of people's homes are being foreclosed upon, homeless shelters and rescue missions are turning people away right and left.  More and more families are living in their cars that they can't afford gas for.   Is there a recession?  YEP!  Come and visit our town and you will see it in full force!   Is it affecting our family?   Yes, but not in a detrimental way, we are still putting a little money away each month, but it is going down as grocery and gas prices go up.   We are DEFINITELY changing our driving habits (which were very limited to start with, as we only own one car), and DEFINITELY changing our spending habits!   We are reusing and reducing more.

You asked, so I shared :)

Love ya!

Blessings,

Oh, PS:  yes, we are in a recession, and our family is feeling it a little, but we are still taking the kids on a little vacation this weekend and taking them to Disneyland (but shhhh, it's a surprise, they won't know until tomorrow morning when we wake them up to leave).......after this, we will pretty much be "housebound" for the rest of the summer....no trips to the beach or anything this year!

@Lori4squaremom - Hi Lori!

Here's my reply!

First of all we do not have any credit cards nor do we live on credit.  We are not building debt but wealth.  We are happy to pay alot of taxes because it means we made alot of money.  You see Lori, you receive what you perceive.  Recession is nothing more than a perception.  You have to decide what kingdom you are going to live in.  The kingdom of God is always expanding and growing.  The kingdom or realm of man that is dominated by fear is always declining.  You must learn to live in this economy according to God's economy.

You see, if bread goes to $10 a loaf, we will always be able to buy it or the Bible would be false if it says and it does, "I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging bread."  If gas goes to $10 per gallon, I will still be able to buy it because if we cannot go then how can we preach.  If Jesus said go and He did, then He is obligated to make sure it happens.  If we are commanded to take care of our families like the Bible says and we are working like the Bible says, then Jesus  has obligated Himself to supply or needs and take grand care of us.  If we just barely get by, then what kind of testimony would that be to the world.  If we had no more than them, then why should they convert.  I choose the supernatural flow of God's blessing rather than being swept up in the fear around us.

Let me ask you, "What are you listening too.  What are you hearing?"  Go to Luke and Mark and read the parable of the sower.  At the end, Jesus says in one gospel, "Take care how you hear."  In the other it says, "Take care what you hear."  Look specifically at Mark 4:23-25.  The media are perpetrators of fear.  You watch the news and listen to all they are saying, you will lose hope.  Jesus said what you hear is like seeds and it grows.  If you listen to the media and fix your eyes on the natural realm you will be in recession.  But if you hear and obey, you will prosper.  The Bible says the way of the transgressor is hard.  People who don't live for God can expect hard times.

Let's look at Psalms 1.  Who did he would be blessed?  Those who did not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful.  Do you believe this or the news reports.  Verse 2 says your delight should be in the Law of the Lord.  What governs you?  Verse 3 says that if you delight in the Law of the Lord you will be like a tree planted by living water that is bringing forth fruit in its season, its leaf doesn't whither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  It didn't say somethings he does or a few things he does shall prosper, it said whatsoever he does shall prosper.  Do you believe this or CNN.  It goes on to say the ungodly will perish.  If this is the case in the Old Testament and the New Testament is a better covenant based on better promises the Bible says, then what can I expect.  BLESSING....

If you remember the parable of the talents, the one who was afraid and buried his in the sand had the one talent he had taken from him and given to the one who had increased his talents.  Jesus is looking for increase in every area of our lives.  Do you believe that the condition of the world's economy can effect what Jesus said he would do?  Do you think Jesus is saying, " Well the economy is going bad in the United States, I guess we are going to be hindered in blessing My people."  Is Jesus' supply limited?  Has he run out of resources?

I know, there are some that will say that Jesus will just supply our needs and not our wants.  They think that is humble and spiritual.  But let me remind you that the government can do that.  I thought Jesus was supposed to be better than the government.

You see, the Kingdom of God has come to us.  We are a part of that Kingdom.  Jesus is the King.  In a Kingdom, the King is responsible for the wellbeing of those who serve Him.  A democracy is shared rule.  A Kingdom has one ruler who governs and controls the wellfare of His subjects.  If Jesus can only provide what the democracies of the world can provide, then why serve Him because He would be no different of better.

Is a recession on.  For the people of world maybe.  For God's people absolutely not.  Will I tighten the belt because the world and its system is being challenged?  Absolutely not.  I am not listening to them.  I choose to do what the Father said do when He spoke from heaven and said, "This is my beloved Son, Hear Him."

I am not saying spend what you don't have and go crazy with credit and think that God will pay the bill.  You need to have sound biblical business principles in handling your money.  Follow the Word and believe for increase, talk increase, speak the blessing of God, give like a child of God should give and you will live like a child of God should live.

There will be more later and I will be happy to respond to any of your questions or comments.

Yes, Virginia, there really is a recession.

Does that mean the God of the Bible is a liar?  Absolutely not.  God's promises are true, without doubt.  When we have put our faith in the Lord of Heaven, He will not leave us without provision.

That doesn't mean that there's no recession for God's people;  God's people are, at times, stricken with cancer.  Women of God, sometimes, must bury the children they long to hold.  God's chosen suffer with the rest of the country during economic downturns, sometimes, because it rains on the just and the unjust.

I show myself to be a Daughter of Life not by saying that "these things are a perception and are not real for me" when I walk in the midst of them daily, but by saying, "Father, You alone see all things from the beginning to the end.  I will trust you, no matter what I see, no matter what I walk through, no matter what comes or goes...I will believe what You say and trust that You are, indeed, using this for my good and Your glory."

To deny pain and suffering in this life, for any reason, is to 1.  lie to yourself, and 2.  deny help and hope to those travailing around you.
