PROJECT BROTHER LOVE 2008 ♥

Absolutely amazing. What a great week...and it just ended two days ago. This year, I not only served as a counselor but also as a worship leader.
Having more responsibilities gave me a chance to serve God more, and it also made my experience a whole lot better. Words cannot really describe, the joy I felt during the week.
Although my body was tired, my heart was full of energy. Praise God, Praise God for this awesome ministry.
I believe many youth were touched by God this week, and some even came to know Christ for the first time!!! It was truly amazing, fun and memorable =]

praise God for my friends.

Come & See was successful, our skit made people cry =] I hoped it opened people's eyes. It was a great experience, because through it, I became closer to God and to my small group.

I'm currently really sick, but I have to say, I have the best friends. They call me at all hours to offer medicine, food and comfort. I'm blessed by the people in my life, thank you, thank you, thank you God.

haha, so I tried to delete some old entries, need to clean up this xanga blog site.

these past few weeks have been pretty awesome. I've improved about getting things done. I've even stepped up the physical activity....by a lot. this week alone I ran about 7 miles. tomorrow I'm getting up to work out at 10am with some friends. It feels so good to be healthier. Although the scale hasn't changed significantly, I feel a difference in my body already! The arms and legs are slimming down! yayyyy. =]

I really love my college friends. They are just amazing. They make me laugh, smile, feel good, educated, everyday. I learn something new from them everyday. It is truly a blessing.

I really really really like my fellowship. They're like brothers and sisters to me. They make me laugh, teach me things I've never known, and keep me in the right direction.  Watching them serve God inspires me, and it makes me excited for what holds in the future. I hope I can be like some of the older juniors and seniors.  As they serve, I wonder what God has in store for me. Hmmm...

Concert of Praise last night, very fun
speaker was powerful =] funny too
& the music skits...wow powerful..gives me the chills =DD

http://youtube.com/watch?v=cyheJ480LYA

go watch it on youtube, its not ours but they copied it from there

i think ours was better, cuz the guy that played jesus was very tall whereas the girl was very small and cute
it was so touching, i saw people crying

so I'm really glad I went, because I think I really needed a reminder about everything, what is my purpose in life, why am I here?
the speaker talked about college and he asked us, what are we working for? are we trying to satisfy desires?
what goals are we trying to achieve? who are we working for? are we working for ourselves? the american dream?

it totally hit me right there, I needed to get back on the straight path, stop straying.
I got so distracted these past two months, I didn't attend any services or fellowships for weeks...and I finally realized it was about time I get back on track.

mostly it was due to timing, the meetings are inconvenient, whether it was late at night or during the day when I had class, but I figure I could sacrifice a couple of hours of sleep and go to fellowship. after all, it wasn't like I had important things to do, it seems like I waste so much time during the day....doing NOTHING in particular.
Some people I talked to could relate, they said they didn't even know what they did with their free time...we waste so much time...=\

so I hope to get my drive and motivation again. life's frustrating when you feel tired all of the time...

prayers would be great =]

I can't wait to go back home for thanksgiving. I miss everyone...
I think mostly, I'm just homesick.

WASHINGTON D.C. for NYLC

I'm still in D.C. waiting for padre to pick me up. & its snowing. so that will probably take a while. yeah.

oh in case you didn't know I was attending (I guess still considered am attending) National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) in Washington D.C. at the National 4H Center. bored right now cuz a lot of my friends left. I'm in the recreation room on the computer & hoping my dad will be able to get here time because I am deprived of sleep.

Tuesday-got up around 7am and left the house at 9am for D.C. drove for about 2&half hours & stopped at Starbucks for lunch. then went to the center, arrived 5 minutes before registration. got my room & went down for the registration. as soon as i walked in, the whole entire room applauded & yayyed/cheered. apparentely I was the first out of the 350 students to arrive. cool huh ?
then I met my roommates & attended some college seminar, tour of the campus, welcome to washington & a keynote speaker Kevin Bales who is President of Free the Slaves. it was really inspiring. did you know there are 27 million slaves today? more then ever, sadly. & an average slave costs $90. ridicolous.

then I met my group, Armstrong. they were pretty cool, <3. apparently we were Democratic Leadership as compared to Caucus(create/revise bill), Committees(discuss/question potential of bill). Leadership is basically the "lawyers" or representers of the whole thing. Our job is to persuade people to vote for Democrat.

Wednesday-breakfast at 7am ( so friggin early), Simluation of "If I were President", I was Director of CIA, pretty sweet. we had some situation that we were in 2009 & there was a war in Sudan. then we had a speaker Jo Anne Barnhart, who is the Commissioner of Social Security Administration and appointed by Prez. Bush. she was boring cuz she talked forever, i mean this lady did not shut up. & she was not direct at all. when you ask a question, she talks about everything around that area. nobody liked her.
more LGM(Leadership Group Meetings), then lunch at Dupont Circle where a bunch of the girls(Hannah, Emily, Betsy, Rachel, meee) ate chicago pizza & Rachel &I went to a bead shop =]. flippin sweet. then we went to the Korean War Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, & Vietnam Veterans Memorial. then more LGM, dinner, LGM, Leadership Workshops-I did Dream It, Do It basically a social entrepreneurship. It was hilarious cuz we had to come up with commercials to improve problems in societyy. then more LGM, State Delegate Mixer(lotta NJ people!!) & there were two guys from Marlton. what are the odds ya know? Greg Morris went to my middle school (now at Shawnee) & Mike F. goes to Camden Catholic but i swear I've seen him somewhere.
then i passed out around 1am.

Thursday-6am breakfast(even more early...), go to CAPITOL HILL & sat in the seats of the Floor of the House of Representatives where Bush just gave the state of the union address or something. met former member of congress David Skaggs. that was pretty sweet. walked around the Senate & House buildings, met with the staff of my senators & one represenative cuz they weren't in their office =( thats the whole point I came on this thing...to met my leaders. sighh.
then to WWII Memorial, prettttyyy. dinner, LGM-testing the Constitution, then a variety/talent show. was friggin hilarious cuz people rapped. cool cuz 3 hawaiian people danced/hula-ed for us. wish I could shake my ass like that hahaha.
bed around 2

Friday-leave 7am for National Press Club. had breakfast with them, asked questions about the current events etc. then to Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, then Lunch in Georgetown in some Italian restaurant. then roamed around a mall before going on the bus.  then we had a town hall discussion, i went to the first amendment one. apparentely, ours was the only one that was actually interesting & controversial. i found the whole controversial ridicolous. but im not goint to talk about that here cuz I dont have time.
LGM, dinner, LGm, Committee Hearings/court, LGM, Caucus Preparation, Committee Reviews, Leadership Briefings, LGM, picking our speakers. we made them tell us their favorite disney cartoon movie character & sing the answer. & do a catwalk. & of course why they should be a general speaker/representative of the Democrat Party. the guys were hilarious.
bed around 1.

Saturday-breakfast around 7:30am, walked to white house for a photo, Department of the Interior for the GENERAL SESSION (basically the court hearing we've been working on all week), it went well, except Democrats lost. I was kinda upset cuz I think the Republicans cheated. I was a WHIP (pt-shhhh) & I had to count every single person when they voted. but yeah it was intense. well the whole friggin bill supported Republicans anyway, & yeah it was hard to argue against it. though it wasnt the best bill you could make. oh well.
then to National American History Museum/Smithsonian Museum. borrringggg.
then later that night we had a dance, but it was at the 4H Center cuz of the snoww. ughh.
it was sooo much fun. then again I havent really done anything social since Christmas.
& no dances since October.
i partied like an animal.
& i got all the guys in my group to dance. they were hilarious, doing the robot ,etc. reminds me of my guy friends at cherokee :) haha some poor guys didnt know how to or they never been to one.

Today-snowingg. so im stuck here. waiting for dad to pick me up. im borrrreeed. & yeah its so sad to leave these people.

I'll hopefully have pictures to post when I get home.
