Hewwow! Thanks to Holly, I'm back on Xanga today after a long drought. Fast update I hope...just so you all know I'm alive and well! Still living and working in Kansas City. More involved with the Kansas City Symphony Chorus. Got a part in the Symphony's "Magic of Christmas" shows coming up where I sing the Hawiian Christmas song "Mele Kalikimaka" in a grass skirt and coconut bra for 7 shows. Should be really fun and I'm glad to get my foot in the door there anyway I can. Will also be traveling to Switzerland and Italy with the Chorus next June/July. Was just home for Thanksgiving. 'Twas marvelous being home and seeing my cousins, as well as my old friend from high school Brenda. Got my nephew to laugh for the first time (when NOT being tickled). Am excited to go home at Christmas again (less than a month already) because I get to see my cousins again and see yet another friend from Lowell. (Didn't go to high school with him, just worked at the grocery store together.) On my flight back to KC, United moved me to Delta and I ended up only getting back to KC 15 minutes later than expected, but with a free United round-trip ticket that I can use this next year. I'll probably use it in June when my brother graduates from high school, my nephew's birthday, and my birthday are all the same weekend. I am compiling a children's easy christmas musical for work right now. My first time ever putting a work together. Normally I edit other people's work, but here I'm starting the project on my own. It's pretty cool. I have way too many Christmas parties this year and it makes me love the Relient K "I Hate Christmas Parties" song way too much. If you haven't picked up the full Relient K Christmas CD that came out this year, do yourself a favor and go to Family Christian, where they have it for $9.99 this week only I think. I mean come on, there's a "punk" version of the Hallelujah Chorus...does it get any better? Along the music lines, the new Angels & Airwaves is A-MA-ZING! I put it on in the background here at work and I'll seriously listen to the whole CD 3 times in one day. CRAZY! I can't listen to full out Christmas music yet, because I have to listen to it for work in the early fall and I was already a little bit sick of it when they started playing it on the radio stations around here on HALLOWEEN! That's too early. The day after Thanksgiving and no earlier. Come on! I'm sitting here typing and my caramel macchiato is getting cold...so I must leave you now! Back to work! It may be another 2-3 months 'til I update again! Comment if you wanna know more! |
