| Update!Ah, so I'm not dead. I was starting to worry about myself, being as I had not updated. But here is an update and proof that I am still among the living. My class got canceled so now I am just bumming around instead of taking advantage of this time to get work done. It will all get done eventually. I think 18 hours is just at my limit. Any more and I would die, but I can manage to get by as I am. It's going to be tough, but I think I can make it. The first run of tests and papers will tell me better, in case I bomb a class and find I need to use a Q drop. I really hope it doesn't come to that. I really like all my classes though, so I think I can make it work. I'm so glad to be back at College Station. It's awesome having so many of my friends so close by in the same dorm. We just all chill here and don't have to worry about anyone having to walk home across campus. Although I wish that my friends who don't live in Hobby would come see us more. I miss them. Oh, but about the dorm, we've had two interesting experiences already this year that had never happened before. The first was the Great Dormroom Floor of 2006. I was getting ready to go to bed at around 2:30 am and I heard a dripping noise. I thought that I was crazy because the sink wasn't dripping, but in fact the pipes under the sink had somehow sprung a leak. As luck would have it, one of my large plastic tubes was sitting under the sink and had caught all of the leaking water. As the leak was only a very small drip I decided to go to sleep and deal with it in the morning. Besides the fact that the dripping noise kept me awake and nearly drove me insane, nothing interesting happened till the next morning. Kerri altered the RA of our leak and she said that she would call it in. Sometime that night, the small drips had been joined by a small steam of water shooting out of the side of the pipe. This caused water to get all over the floor. So Kerri had a towel down to stop the water from getting on our carpet, and I added a few more. Well, as the day went on the leak just got worse and worse and still no one had shown up to fix it. At this point the water was hitting the back wall and then streaming down to the floor, so there was no way to catch the water with the tub. Every towel I own was on the floor, sopping wet. Finally they fixed the stupid thing, but it was really aggrivationg how long it took them to show up. Our other adventerous adventure was the Dorm Blackout. This past Monday, for no apparent reason at all, the power suddenly went off in our dorm. My computer wasn't even on at the time, so luckily I didn't lose anything important. So we sat around in the dorm for a bit and then got bored of having no power and went to Kyoto Sushi. I had never been to a sushi place before, so that was fun. I had udon which was really good, although I am not the best with chopsticks, especially when trying to eat long stringy noodles. But the power was restored by the time we returned and there is still no word as to what caused the power to go off in the first place. Trinity Blood and Bleach premired on Adult Swim this past Saturday. That was fun. The Trinity Blood dub is really good and the show is really really pretty. I think I'll enjoy it. Bleach...ah Bleach. I really really want to like the dub because I love the series so much. Namely the manga. But...It's not that I hate the dub or that the dub is terrible. It's really not either of those. It's just not what I think the voices should sound like...I know it sounds dumb, but after reading 14 volumes of the manga there are certain voices in my head that suit the characters and well...not all of the voices are syching up with that. Rukia's is really good, I like her voice, and i really can't complain about most of the minor characters. The pronuciation of names was really good too. Ichigo's voice though...I love Jonny Young Bosch, but its just not working for me at the moment. It's going to take some getting used to. It may grow on me. And Kon's voice in the preview really disturbed me. That one wasn't even close. It's not like I think that the Japanese voices are superior because honestly, I really dont' remember what the voices sounded like. I only saw the first 9 episodes at a convention over a year and a half ago. It just doesn't synch up with my expectations from the manga. I didn't have a specific voice actor in mind for the part or anything, its just not what I expected. Oh well. If all else fails when I buy the DVDs as they come out and I'll watch it subtitled when its not on TV. That was a long rant. This post has no point in case you haven't noticed, not that anyone will actually read it. What else can I ramble on about to ensure that noone willa actually read this? Is anything exciting going on in my life at the moment? ....no, not really. Just reading for classes, endless, endless reading, and trying to get caught up on my manga. I need to finish cleaning my room eventually too, but its livable and workable, so there's really no rush for me. Oh! Parapara, that's still happening. It's fun, we got new people, I guess thaats all there really is to that. but there's also Random Anime! Its a tabletop paper role play thing, and its really a lot of fun. My character is a kitsune, who potentially could flip out and kill everyone, awesome! But I don't think that will happen anytime soon. But we're having fun with that. I've never done anything like it before, so its all new and exciting. wow, I figured I'd write a a lot more than that on that subject but I guess I'm all written out. This is a rather long entry after all. And oen that really doesn't say anything at all. If people comment on this thing i will do my best to update more, even if it is just random rants about things that don't matter, but if no one reads it I may just start to abandon this thing...even though I don't really want to...so you should all leave comments...please? | Just a quick note to say that I hate my job.Work today totally sucked. We close the store at 8 and we did not get to leave until almost 11. Apparently some big shot Hobby Lobby person is visiting our store tomorrow and so we have to try to fool him into thinking that our store looks nice all the time. So we had to straighten everything. I understand moving things so they are in the right place and are straight on the shelves. But when you have to fix 2 aisles of nothing but yarn so that every label is facing the right way and readable, that's just bullshit. No one, not even some regional Vice president or whatever he is, is going to walk down a row of yarn and go, "Heavens! That one yarn bundle is facing the wrong way! I can't read the clever name that the company came up with for that color! Mercy me, what was I thinking allowing you all to run a store. Apparently you can't handle Hobby Lobby's high standards of quality. I'm shutting this store down, and you're all fired!" Seriously now. What can this guy even do to us? I don't understand why we are trying so hard to impress him. It's not like he's going to come and throw money at us. That would be motivation. Well I'm tired and need to go to bed because, oh joy, I have work in the morning. I feel a bit better now getting that all off my chest. | | |
| A-kon was freaking awesome!
This past weekend was a-kon and I have to say, I had a really good time, even though I was not all that impressed with the convention this year (cosplay running long is not an excuse to be 2 and a half hours behind!). We had two para para panels and two performances and I think they all went very well. We met a ton of great para para people who I hope to get to talk to more at future conventions. I really feel bad about not talking to them more, but I felt a little shy as they all knew each other and I was nervous about being the odd one out (its just something that happens to me in large groups of people I don't know, I get scared they will all hate me, I know its stupid, plus they were all so much better than me that I was self conscious). But there was much para para love and hopefully next con I see them I can start to get to know some of them a bit better. Perhaps if I get on some of the forums and such we might talk, I dunno.
But con was fun. Our second panel was one of the highlights for me. We had a smaller group so it was more manageable to teach and they all did really really well! I wish we could drag them all back to A&M with us to stay on the team. We need to form a parapara scholarship. ^_^ Ran into a ton of people we knew from A&M, that was fun. I was really nervous about our cosplay halftime performance, and I screwed up right at the start, but after that things seemed to go better. We were all a little off cause we had to run up on stage and were all a little flustered. Also the crowd just wasn't very into it, but they were most likely just really tired of sitting through cosplay. The sad part is that like no one we know saw us dance! Evan did though...and sat with us while we practiced and hung out with us and sat through our panels...he deserves a metal. I think he's our parapara groupie. ^_^ But no one else saw us -_- and that makes me very sad.
I got some cool stuff from dealers room and spent a ton of money on manga, but I got almost all of both this and next months new releases so I should be set for a while (Yay Death Note a month early!). I also got some bleach figures and a bunch of my new favorite candy Hi-chews! I could live on those things... I also bought an expansion pack for Zombies which we all still need to get together and play *coughamycough* and a few other small things that aren't all that important to list here. Though they are important to me...But other than a few unnecessary drama moments the con was great. And I'm so glad we stuck with one room. It was so worth it and it wasn't near as bad as everyone thought it would be with 11 people. I actually thought it was fun having that many people around. And the Westin was a good place to stay, we may consider booking there again if only to avoid the con elevators.
So I got up this morning to go to work to see what time I was supposed to be there since neither of the guys I asked to call me did, and I come to find out that I have the day off. So I woke up early on my only day off this week. Got my paycheck though. I'm working 39 hours this week, all closing, bleh. I love the hours, but I would much prefer the morning shift. It's not as busy and the time goes by faster. Plus Eric works mornings, so when I have the late shift I don't get to see him. But I'll make due, I'm just still tired from con and really hope I don't have many angry people cause I really don't want to have to deal with them. But I'll make due, I always do.
Well that's about it for now, I'm still pretty tired so I'd better go get some sleep. I'm sure no one reads this, since no one comments anymore, but I still update every now and then just in case (that's a hint for all of you to comment!).

| So, I have not updated in a while and much has happened. Well, not that much I guess, but enough to warrant an update. I really doubt that anyone even reads this anymore, but just in case, here's an entry:
School's out for the summer. Yay! Freedom (sort of)! Finals were killer, I had three papers and two finals all in a few days. The finals weren't bad, but I was so tired of writing papers. Also, it might be good to note that I am insane. I'm taking 18 hours in the fall. I'm still not sure what possessed me to do that, but we'll see if I stick it out or drop one. I still have my 4.0 ^_^ and in reality, I don't feel I was really in danger of losing it this semester. I had tough classes, sure, but I was doing well in all of them and I was never really worried...which made me worry (if that makes any sense).
So now I am home, and oh goody, I got a job. Yeah, I've given up slacking for the summer and decided to be a working girl. I got a job offer yesterday and accepted today. I start in the morning and I'm a bit nervous. I'm working at Hobby Lobby and hopefully I'll have a lot of hours and can rack up the cash. Which I will immediately spend on anime, manga, and video games. I'm hopeless.
I'm going to A-kon in June, I kinda need to start thinking about that and making sure to get in touch with everyone who's going again. We got a suite this year (if Jon has made the reservations....if not I'm going to kick him) instead of a regular room and we're hoping there will be enough room for all of the people going. Oh well, we don't spend much time in the room anyway. I just don't want people getting mad at me because they thought it was too crowded or anything.
Well, that's about it for now. I have to go to sleep so that I can get up and go to work in the morning. | | |
| Look! An update that's not really an update at all!! Yay! Yeah, I'll try to get on that soonish...finals time and all that...
I Am A: Chaotic Good Elf Thief Bard
Alignment: Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups.
Race: Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.
Primary Class: Thieves are the most roguish of the classes. They are sneaky and nimble-fingered, and have skills with traps and locks. While not all use these skills for burglary, that is a common occupation of this class.
Secondary Class: Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.
Deity: Tymora is the Chaotic Good goddess of luck and good fortune. She is also known as Lady Luck, and also Tyche's fair-tressed daughter. Followers of Tymora believe in the tenent that, 'Fortune Favors the Bold,' and will throw caution to the wind and trust to luck to work things out for the best. Tymora's symbol is an unmarked silver disk.
