Do you know who you are? Our Pastor says that to us from time to time. He then proceeds to remind us who the bible says we are. We are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, children of the most High God, more than conquerors, satan's greatest enemy and the world's greatest hope, that is who we are, that is who you are! You may say to yourself something like, "well I don't feel at all like that". Can I remind you today that you do not live by what you feel, you live by what you know is truth. The bible is either all true or it's a lie. If the Word of the Living God tells you, you are more than a conqueror, then that is exactly what you are!
I was thinking this morning of several people I know. These are people who spend their whole lives searching and trying to figure out who they are. They try all kinds of things. I have seen people go through all kinds of changes to make themselves feel better and to "find themselves". They have tried everything from different religious beliefs, to becoming a vegan, to changing sexual orientation, to all different relationships. I have seen people go to school to change to a different career, change the way they dress, take up yoga, drinking, drugs, and move around from place to place to place. All of this because they do not know who they really are or who they were created to be.
The bible tells us in Psalm 139 that God knew us even before we were knitted together in our mother's womb. There is not one person on this earth that God does not have a plan and purpose for. It is up to us to seek God and find out who He created us to be.
Some of us are making a huge impact for the kingdom of God and we may or may not even realize it. You may think how in the world am I doing that? Just by living your life for Jesus Christ, you make an impact. Think about how your life has changed. Some of us went from being a party girl/guy to getting away from that life style. That alone is a huge witness. Just changing the way you speak, music you listen too, and the movies you watch speak volumes to people and you haven't even spoken a word to them. Having the peace of God during difficult times is a huge witness to people. I have had people tell me they wanted what I had simply for this reason alone. This list could go on and on and I'm sure most of you could add a few things here and there. Trust me, people watch you.
My point is, we are more than what we realize sometimes because of who we have living within us. The apostle Paul was a powerful man of God. He wrote most of the New Testament and was probably the most powerful man on earth second to Jesus Christ Himself. Yet, Paul died for his beliefs not even knowing who he was. He had no clue that a few letters he sent to some churches would become part of some of the most important books of the Bible. He was just busy doing God's will for his life and made an impact for his generation and all generations after.
You are making a difference. Don't give up, don't get discouraged and remember who you are in Christ. You really are amazing!
I love you all
