  • A few random thoughts...

Life is so full of surprises. Always expect the unexpected.

I'm pretty sure these are the last days we are living in. This world has lost it's mind.

Don't let fear control you, fear and faith cannot dwell within the same vessel.

Trust God even in the things you don't understand.

If you are eating something in the kitchen and food falls on the floor, I'm pretty sure your dog will hear it hit the ground even if she is upstairs.

Sometimes dogs are more like people than some people I know =)

It actually takes less facial muscles to smile than to frown.

You are NEVER to old to learn!

Sunrises here in Georgia, in the Fall are breath taking

There is great satisfaction in knowing you got the very last M&M

Jesus is the best friend you will ever have.

We will make time to do whatever we really want to do.

Good friends are hard to come by.

Sometimes walking hand in hand, not saying a word, is amazing.

Sometimes silence seems as though it shouts at us.

People waste entirely too much precious time being grumpy.

Take the time to be with the ones you love, we are not promised tomorrow.

  • Last week..

Sooooo last week was probably one of the most interesting weeks of my life!!

Saturday:  My daughter Kayte and her boyfriend of 4 yrs got engaged!  I am so happy for the both of them.  John is an amazing young man and Martin and I couldn't have chosen anyone better for her

    Monday:  I turned the big 5 0...woooohooo!

Friday:  The bank where I work got robbed, fun times.  We live in a crazzzzzy world!  Some people are so bold and do not even care there are like a million cameras everywhere.

Saturday:  My son Christopher turned 18, so we now have 3 "adult" children.  Tessa has a way to go because she is only 11  lol.

Yes, I will say this has been one of the most busy, crazy, stressful, frustrating, happy, exciting, thankfully blessed weeks I have ever had!!

    I love you all

  • Currently Listening: Hello Love

    Reflections...

Today, I found myself reflecting back on my life.  I like to do that from time to time because, if I'm being honest with myself, I can see where I have grown or where I may have veered off the path some.  I can see where I could have done things better and I can see victories won.  I can see where the Lord led me and kept me from falling.  I can also see where I may have fallen, but He carried me.  I have been at that place where I have thrown myself upon His mercy and found love and forgiveness.

I can look back as far as childhood and I can see the hand of the Lord on my life.  I wasn't really raised in church.  I visited many churches with family and friends but we never really committed ourselves anywhere.  Yet, I can still remember having some sort of understanding deep within my heart that there was something more, something larger than this life, something beyond this universe.

I can remember the time I realized I needed a Savior and giving my life over to Him.  "It isn't much", I told Him, "but here I am".  I remember when He told me I had a calling on my life and being so afraid, but also determined to walk with eyes of faith and trust that He equips the ones He calls.

I can also remember walking away from the Lover of my soul.  I can remember falling deep into darkness for several years.  A word of advice here, no one is beyond falling, no one.  The best thing you can ever do as a Christian is stay in the Word and stay connected to the Lord with prayer.  Once you let those things slide, little by little you will find yourself in a place you never thought you would be.  Be careful who you hang out with, and go to church.  I'm not saying I didn't find forgiveness when I realized how deceived I was, but it's better not to go there in the first place.

This week I found myself sort of getting back to the basics.  I have been asking God for a refreshing, for fresh wind and fresh fire.  I reminded myself that my life is not my own, it has been bought with a price.  There is more to life than my own little circle.  I need to be busy about the Father's business.  Just take a look around.  Prophecies from the bible are coming to pass right before our eyes.  Time is short.  I want to be found doing what I am called to do so that when I stand on that big X mark before the King of Kings, I will hear, "well done good and faithful servant".

Words will never express how much you mean to me Lord Jesus.  No one loves me like you do.  I want my life to be a reflection of you, I want my life to be a fragrant offering to you, a pleasing fragrance.  Help me to be all you want me to be.  Let that be the prayer of all your children....

    I love you all

  • Who we are

Do you know who you are?  Our Pastor says that to us from time to time.  He then proceeds to remind us who the bible says we are.  We are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, children of the most High God, more than conquerors, satan's greatest enemy and the world's greatest hope, that is who we are, that is who you are!  You may say to yourself something like, "well I don't feel at all like that".  Can I remind you today that you do not live by what you feel, you live by what you know is truth.  The bible is either all true or it's a lie.  If the Word of the Living God tells you, you are more than a conqueror, then that is exactly what you are!

I was thinking this morning of several people I know.  These are people who spend their whole lives searching and trying to figure out who they are.  They try all kinds of things.  I have seen people go through all kinds of changes to make themselves feel better and to "find themselves".  They have tried everything from different religious beliefs, to becoming a vegan, to changing sexual orientation, to all different relationships. I have seen people go to school to change to a different career, change the way they dress, take up yoga, drinking, drugs, and move around from place to place to place.  All of this because they do not know who they really are or who they were created to be.

The bible tells us in Psalm 139 that God knew us even before we were knitted together in our mother's womb.  There is not one person on this earth that God does not have a plan and purpose for.  It is up to us to seek God and find out who He created us to be.

Some of us are making a huge impact for the kingdom of God and we may or may not even realize it.  You may think how in the world am I doing that?  Just by living your life for Jesus Christ, you make an impact.  Think about how your life has changed.  Some of us went from being a party girl/guy to getting away from that life style.  That alone is a huge witness.  Just changing the way you speak, music you listen too, and the movies you watch speak volumes to people and you haven't even spoken a word to them.  Having the peace of God during difficult times is a huge witness to people.  I have had people tell me they wanted what I had simply for this reason alone.  This list could go on and on and I'm sure most of you could add a few things here and there.  Trust me, people watch you.

My point is, we are more than what we realize sometimes because of who we have living within us.  The apostle Paul was a powerful man of God.  He wrote most of the New Testament and was probably the most powerful man on earth second to Jesus Christ Himself.  Yet, Paul died for his beliefs not even knowing who he was.  He had no clue that a few letters he sent to some churches would become part of some of the most important books of the Bible.  He was just busy doing God's will for his life and made an impact for his generation and all generations after.

You are making a difference.  Don't give up, don't get discouraged and remember who you are in Christ.  You really are amazing!

    I love you all

  • Wow!

Wow, there is so much going on!  Everywhere I turn something is going on in this world. Hurricanes, tornados, Republicans vs. the Democrats, friends getting sick, neighbor's little boy falling and splitting his head open, deadlines, kids, husband, dog, cat and on it goes. It's like there is a spirit of chaos!  If I am not careful, I can get caught up in it and become an emotional wreck!  I know in my heart, however, that stress is a choice.  Today I choose not to allow the things that surround me to cause me to live by my emotions.  Can I also say here, that I am not responsible for everyone's happiness!  That is NOT my job.  My job is to live for God and He will direct me on the right path no matter the situation or circumstance. He will show me how to handle things that come my way.  My job is to listen and obey.  He has never let me down.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.  Galatians 4:22

If I am walking by the Spirit and not by how I feel, the fruit of the Spirit are evident in my life.  If I choose to live by my emotions and live by how I feel, just think about the opposite of these fruit.  That is what will be evident in my life.  This is not how God desires for me to live, or you either!  Peace alone is a big one.  The world tries all kinds of things just to have that.  But we have the Spirit of the living God dwelling within us.  If we tap into Him, no matter what is going on around us it will as the old song says, grow strangely dim.

Praise you Lord for the fruit of the Spirit.  Let my life reflect Your character by having these characteristics shine.  Help me to always remember that you are the one who sticks closer than a brother and if I stop for a moment, even during chaotic times, you will direct me, you will lead me, and it will always be the best way.

    I love you all
