Thank you, Plato, for putting so much
grist in the mill of insanity. I've found people seriously proposing
that the Atlanteans had giant metal airships, which they flew with
their psychic energy. Right

- The opening chord of I Still
Haven't Found What I'm Looking For is a revelation. One of those little
musical moments that make life so worthwhile. The fourteen-second mark,
people. Go listen to it.

- What, you don't have a copy of the
Joshua Tree. Good. Then you have no excuse to not buy the remaster when
it comes out November 20. I'm thinking three-disc deluxe edition,
myself. But that's me.

- When Denzel Washington ceases to have an expression on his face, be afraid. Be very afraid.

- Big, wide, 1972-type spread collars are sweet.

- On a Friday night, it's absurd to get home at 12.30 and find everyone already in bed.

-
Twenty-three hours of the day I find the concept of getting up at six
and generally starting the day right is very appealling to me. The hour
when it is not is between 6 and 7 am.

There's Very Little To Say

It's true! Painting is my thing this summer, as some of you know. I work all day, I sleep all night, I like to press wildflowers, and so on. I do seem to do more pressure washing than actual painting though, which is fine by me. When it's 30 degrees, wouldn't you rather be standing in a cloud of mist? It does tend to soak your shoes though. Which leads to the embarassing story.

I was pressure washing a tennis court. It's a long slow tedious dull repetive uninteresting mindlessly boring job, especially on a hot day, which that one was. No matter how hot it gets, though, it's always gross to have sopping wet shoes, so I took mine off circa 9 AM to let them dry for a while. I then proceeded to enjoy the whole barefoot-in-the-spray thing so much that I didn't put them back on. That makes 8 hours of barefootedness in the blazing sun standing on asphalt. Can you hear the sizzle? By the time I got home they were starting to hurt a little. By the time I woke up the next morning they were red, angry and swollen. And within a few days the King of the Blisters had erected his palatial abode on the top of my right food. Such conditions make shoe-wearage less than pleasant. The term agony comes to mind, in fact. I was gimped for a full week. Which wil teach me to try to be comfortable at work, should the temptation ever revisit me.

Also, Travis Barker of blink-182's drum skills validate the many unpleasntnesses of the blink-182 listening experience.

Continuing Adventures of Cookie Chris

The cookie has been eaten.
