Guess where I am sitting writing this entry? My NEW OFFICE at St. John's UCC in Red Lion! That's right, I'm here now! I started this past Sunday, and everyone was so wonderful and friendly here. I'm not just saying that because people from the church (ahem, Liza and Troy) will read this, but because I really mean it. I thought the same thing when Don and I came to visit in July. Everyone says Hello and is genuinely friendly. In York County, too! Amazing!!!

What else is new...well, we're moving in just about a week, and that's pretty scary. I have been feeling more tired lately (and gigantic, but I know I have to grow even more...I wish my belly were detachable) so I haven't been a very good help with packing at home. And bless Don's heart, he's been at the new house almost every night painting. Tonight my mom is there helping him. At least they're on the trim, and hopefully it will be done soon. I can't believe we'll be living in Manchester in just over one week...right down the street from my old high school! It's surreal, but I think it's good. The baby will be REALLY close to Grammy and Granddad (that's what we're calling my mom and dad, unless the baby decides to call them something else). I still don't really think that my mom is a "Grammy," but it's what she wants to be called, so we'll give it a try...

Anyway, I'm sure I'm boring everyone with my rambling, so I'll wrap it up. Hope everyone is doing well, whether at school or in college or working or whatever...drop me some notes and let me know what's up!

Well, I had been trying for the longest time to find another picture that I wanted to use, and I for some reason told myself that I didn't want to post again until I had a new picture. (Why, I'm not sure...but I didn't like that Christmas day picture of myself anymore). So, I'm writing this from work and don't have access to any other pictures of myself, thus it's back to "dog & pineapple."

Hello to everyone out there who I haven't talked to in a loooooong time! I hope people had fun in Taize, I was thinking about y'all while you were there. I was being home, working at least 40 hours a week in a not-so-fun job, and being pregnant! I'm sure everyone knows that by now, but if you didn't, now you do! The baby is due October 28, so that's just about two months away. I can't believe it! And we have sooooo much to do before the baby comes. We're moving, I'm starting a new part-time job at St. John's UCC in Red Lion (hurray!!!! and I get to hang out with Troy and Liza!), and, well, we're planning for baby baby baby everything! We don't know what we're having, so it will be a surprise on b-day to see what comes out!

Anyway, drop me some comments and let me know how you're doing. I know I say this every time I go away for awhile and don't post and then come back, but I REALLY am going to try to update more often.

Long time, no post, I know! Tonight is YouthKnits! at Church of the Apostles, and that should be fun. Guess it's not a good idea to advertise it now, since it's happening in 15 minutes! But I'll definitely post an update here when we decide how often/regularly we are going to meet and what projects we'd like to make. If you are interested and couldn't come tonight, let me know what you think about those things.

In other news, not too much exciting stuff is happening. Started a new semester of classes today, can't believe it's my last semester and I'm graduating in May! Scary stuff!

See that my cat is in the bottom box. Why, oh why, did she feel the need to do this? As I write, she is standing behind me, meowing her fool head off. But why couldn't she just go sit on the bed? What's up with knocking all the boxes off the top in order to be in the bottom...anyway, aren't digital cameras fun? So I get to share this craziness with all of you!

Hi everybody, just wanted to post because it's been awhile. So, I heard that Tim from LTS was in Atlanta this past weekend...sooooooo jealous!!! AND he got to see Oma and Megan....even MOOOOOOORE jealous. Hope you guys are well. Shout out to A-Town!

In other words, grrr for stress. Can't wait till this semester and these holidays are over. Send some peaceful thoughts my way, and I'll be trying to do the same for everybody else who's stressing with finals and other business coming up. Peace.....

Sooo...it's been a while again. I'm just not good at staying up-to-date with this...maybe I just need more eProps to keep me going . Anyway, my husband and I just got back from a nice vacation in Vermont...it's awesome there! I would highly recommend it to anyone. We got to see snow before we had to come home, and it was gorgeous. The people there were also nice, although people had told me that they're not very friendly in New England, we only found a few people who were kind of rude or standoff-ish, otherwise they were really nice.

When we were away, I learned to knit! Hurray! I've been wanting to learn for so long, and I did start to, awhile ago, when my friend Kait got me a starter knitting kit for my birthday, but I didn't put in the effort to learn all about it. Now I know how and I can actually make things that look like they're actually a project, instead of random "scarves" that are just rows and rows of basic (though sloppy) knitting. I think I'm going to start a real scarf tomorrow. I finished a "purse" tonight. It's very interesting looking. Don says it looks like I should wear it into the jungle. Whatever that means. It's just kind of goofy, and probably will not ever make it out in public.

So, it has been more than one week already since I've last posted...guess I'm not doing too well on my November resolution. Anyway, I've decided to write a little bit about why I do youth ministry, and what I think my particular way of doing it looks like, and I would love your response.

In my class with Tim (Van Meter, for anyone who wasn't around LTS this past summer and isn't WAAAAAY too familiar with him already -- j/k Tim, love ya! ), I often get disgusted/discouraged/disappointed with myself and with youth ministry because it seems that people expect youth pastors to be the ones to go out into the world and bring fifty gazillion kids to church. Now, I know y'all are scheduled out the wazoo (sp?), and so I don't have a problem with not having tons of youth on Sunday nights at youth fellowship, because you need some time to do homework, watch TV, talk on the phone to friends, etc., and I know you don't get a lot of time to do it during the week. Not a problem. However, I feel that others (and this doesn't even necessary apply to Apostles, but to youth ministry in relation to "the church" in general, so I don't think I'm breaking any rules by writing this) are judging how "good" youth ministry is by how many kids come to stuff.

Listen, these are my priorities. If you know the following things, then I'm doing my job.

1) I'm here. You can talk to me about ANYTHING. Seriously. I might flinch, but I won't rat you out, unless it's one of the biggies...like hurting yourself, others, etc. But you should still tell me even if it's one of those.

2) I just want you to know that your faith is important. If you have any questions, I want to talk to you about it. If you have questions about whether or not God exists, that's okay. Doubting God is not necessarily a sign of "little faith," as some would have you believe. Most of the people in history who are held as very spiritually "mature" or "advanced" have had significant times when they've felt that God has been far away from them.

3) I know (at least some of) what you're listening to and watching on TV. Yes, I listen to rap music and I watch Laguna Beach. So, let's talk about it! (by the way, I'm team LC, in case you were wondering) I'm trying to listen to emo...but it's hard for me to like that one.

4) I LOVE YOU!!!! You all are my peeps, and I would do anything for ya. Just let me know what you need.

Soooo....I've made a deal with myself that I need to spend at least one hour each week reading Xanga updates and being on AIM, because I am feeling disconnected. I'm so busy this semester, with school (classes that are 1.5 credits but have the work of 6 credits! grrrr ) and with church (new mid-week service on the first Wed of each month, you should come if you're around...this Wed it's at 6) and with fifty bazillion meetings for all the different things I've somehow signed up for in the past two years. ANYWAY, I need to stay connected with Y'ALL, because you give me energy and life and I missssssss you!

So that's my little "November resolution" and you can expect to be hearing more from me from here on out. Take care and drop me a line in the comments to let me know what's up! Peace....
