  • Total Eclipse of the Moon Tonight

I'm always fascinated with nature and it sure silences me whenever I catch something so beautiful and COOL. Just thought I'd share in case you guys don't know about the eclipse tonight. It depends on where you are in order to see it but apparently you can't view it if you are in Asia or Oceania. I wonder why.

In North America (Canada & the US), the Total Eclipse takes place during:

    Newfoundland ~ 11:30 p.m. - 12:21 a.m.
    Atlantic ~ 11:00 - 11:51 p.m.
    Eastern ~ 10:00 - 10:51 p.m.
    Central ~ 9:00 - 9:51 p.m.
    Mountain ~ 8:00 - 8:51 p.m.
    Pacific ~ 7:00 - 7:51 p.m.

In Europe and Africa ~ 3:00 a.m. - 3:51 a.m. UTC (GMT) in the early morning of February 21

Look 1 hour 20 minutes before and after to see the partial phases. In Western regions, the Moon may rise partially eclipsed.

    That's all folks.

  • True Love

This was in my email box last week and I thought I'd share with you. I never saw it like this before and I thought it was so cool and be reminded that true love is demonstrated through God's character and His example of sending His Son to die on our behalf.

For God so loVed the world,

                           that He gAve
                                His onLy
                                begottEn
                                      soN
                         T
    hat whoever
                            believes In Him
                              should Not perish,
                           but have Everlasting life.

                               John 3:16

(haha, it took me forever to get that well-adjusted on my screen. If it doesn't with yours, well, hope you get the idea anyway)

God's unconditional love (agape-the highest form of love) towards us is not an uncontrolled reaction of the heart but that He actively chose to love us despite our weaknesses.

This is definitely challenging for me to digest- To really understand how much God loves me and not let others/signif. others justify who I am but that God is the person who can truly do that. It humbles me to know that God loves me despite my flaws. And for me to best express my love back to him, God told me to love people who are hard to love and showed me 1John 4: 7-19. Because through loving people, that is how we can make his love complete and that we can see God through loving others.  I'm working on that.

    Happy Valentine's Day!

  • CCCWC Reflections

    First post of the year.

Maybe a reflection of 2007 coming soon?

But first, I want to share about my CCCWC experience. It seems that every year I go, I forget to write one. Yes, it’s a little late this time around but at least, it’s now or never. For those of you wondering what CCCWC is, it's basically a huge conference mainly based in West Coast Canada for people to come and grow in Christ and learn about what it means to follow Him.

I’ve been to Winter Conference for the past 7 years and have been serving as either a local rep, promotions coordinator (planning committee) or helping out with the teens program so I guess I can consider myself one cool alumnus. But the past one was truly the best for me. You definitely can’t compare with each one because each year, the conference offers different experiences. So it wasn’t just the program, the speaker, or the singing that made it good but it was also my attitude that made a huge difference. I went in expecting Him to do amazing things and I wanted to experience His mighty work at the conference. In the end, I sure did.

    Some of the highlights?

    1) I shared my testimony to the teens but the amazing thing was, I met someone at the conference who also shared a similar calling in life and he also shared his testimony. We did a tag-team sharing. How cool was that? Many were impacted by our testimonies and were motivated to take their faith seriously. That’s what it’s all about. People’s lives being changed for His glory!

    2) The friendships I’ve made and the conversations we had was a blessing to me. I wish I had more time to get to know everyone but I will cherish the ones I’ve made. Thanks for your sharing! Oh.. and thanks to those who heard about my childhood stories. (Carmellites, JJ, Joe, Amelia, and Theola) Oh boy! But yes, relationship-building is so important- To love Him and to love people!

    3) My bus back home broke down but what looked to be an ugly situation turned into positive experience with people praying and singing praises to Him. Thanks to the local reps for your help!

There are definitely many more highlights of the trip so just ask me in person or via email and I’d be happy to share more. Anyhow, this conference was truly a good way to end my 2007. If you never have been to the conference before or still deciding for this year, I do hope you consider going. It’s every year from Dec 27-31. www.cccwc.ca  Hope to see you there!
