Then going to live with Elaine for two weeks (possible Vegas trip with the girls in between for anyone interested)..and continue working until the 22nd. Then back to LA for 2 days and off to Taiwan and Bali for a few weeks! :) After that, somewhere around mid - Oct we'll be in LA for good...Until then, I'll be busy busy...and stressed out looking for apts and another job...

Lotsa changes coming up...Should be an interesting month...Who knows what the future holds..I'm just hoping that all goes well and things work out...

Nohraebang vs. Karaoke

Last week, I went to an American Karaoke Bar for the first time in my life. You know the ones filled with complete strangers, sitting around tables with the stage up front..very much like the movie, Duets. I went with a buncha coworkers and I honestly had a great time. We're slowly creating a little crew at work..which is a little sad since I'm leaving soon (unto bigger and better things right?). Anyways, I call us the Thursday Night City Dwellers Drinkers Club. Ok, I actually just made that up this second so I don't actually refer to our little group as that..but I may..one day soon.. The group consists of young twenty-somethings who all live in the city (our company is about a 45 min drive south), like to drink and have fun and don't mind coming into the work the next day tired/hungover or even quite possibly still a little bit buzzed. Oh and preferably apart of the S3 production crew..Not that we dislike the M2 crew..We are friends with them they just don't really come out with us I guess..but really did anyone actually like M1 in the first place? Oops, did I just say that outloud? JK JK.

Anyways, so I didn't know how I felt about this Karaoke bar. I've only ever been to Nohraebangs where I'm in a room singing my little heart out (often times carelessly off key) but full of your close friends. American Karaoke Bars are so completely different from what my asian roots were accustomed to. I was a little nervous and feeling kinda shy and didn't even know if I would sing. But upon realization that it's really just a place where people come to be carefree and have fun, I decided to request a song. Plus all my coworkers were going to sing..so how could I be the only chicken who didn't? Besides, I knew I could sing better than at least a couple of the people in the bar so what did I have to lose? The worst is the waiting time between requesting your song and hearing it actually come on..I was a little apprehensive but no worries there, I took that time to fuel up for my performance..if you know what i mean..*nudge nudge* As soon as my song came on, I automatically let go of my insecurities and just went for it ..I went into character and gave a shoutout to all my Jersey people in the house..of course there was no one..Bless my coworkers b/c they cheered anyways..or at least laughed at my antics..Then I just put on a show..Really I was jumping up and down, pumping my fists and just rocking out and trying to revv up the crowd..My song - Bon Jovi "Living on a Prayer". My coworkers either thought I was crazy, fun or a big dorky loser..Either way, they said they were impressed and I had fun doing it so I didn't care what anyone else thought. So all you people who have never been to a white Karaoke Bar of this sort, I say DO IT. Call me un-Korean but I think it just may be more fun and exhilirating than Nohraebangs. How do you like dem apples?

Yes Yes...I know I suck. A lot has been going on since my last entry..and I'm finally back for an update..so here goes:

A Trip Down Memory Lane...

Went back home to Jersey for a few days a couple weeks ago..It was good to see old friends and family as always. This trip differed though b/c instead of seeing the people I would normally see on a trip back home (who I wish I got to see but I'm sure I'll see you soon in the near future..maybe Sept/Oct), I saw other friends who I haven't seen in years...My mind was racing and overflooding with past memories that haven't been thought of in years..so I actually had a great time catching up with old Toms River friends that I've kinda neglected..It was refreshing spending time and welcoming them back into my life. It's really interesting how dynamics change and lifestyles differ..yet you're still so comfortable with who some of these people that you literally haven't spoken to or seen in years...

One of the days back home, I hung out with my friend JZ. He's a great friend of mine from TR. I went to Elementary, Junior High and High School with this guy..so we have a lot of past. He's one of those people that I've kept in touch with, lost touch with, got back in touch with, lost touch with and now (thanks to myspace) we're back in touch..so I put aside a whole day with him in the city and met up with my friend Lauren who recently moved back to NY from SF..It was so fun seeing him and talking about life and where it's brought us to today...

Another one of my friends from high school got married so I went to his wedding at Villanova (where his wife and he met in college.) I have to admit I have done a piss poor job of keeping in touch with most of my friends from my high school. Don't get me wrong, I kept in touch with a few of them..One of them is my best guy friend who I also went to college with and talk to often and the other two or three guys (one of them is the one who got married) I'd see/talk to them kinda irregularly due to geography, schedules and well i admit laziness and self consumption..the others I just kind of started to lose touch with somewhere in the middle of college..maybe my sophomore year or so...anyways, our WHOLE group hasn't gotten together in a really long time..i'd say 5 or 6 years..within the group, a few of us kept in touch with a few of the others here and there but no one kept in touch with everyone..

So it was amazing how we all just picked up where we left off and all took our "roles" in the group like back in high school..We were even able to joke about and give shiet about how some of us don't call the others and vice versa b/c we all just have an understanding that it's hard to keep in touch with everyone when you're consumed by your own daily lives..I felt bad for the gfs/wives of our group..I think they secretly hate me bc I'm the only girl in the group and the guys weren't paying as much attention to them..oh well...So anyways this wedding was a reunion of sorts and quite sucessful at that..When I decided to go to the wedding, I was excited yet nervous...Excited to see what my boys from high school have been up to but nervous bc I haven't seen them in so long and didn't know if it'd be awkward seeing some of them since it had been so long...But the great thing was it was what it was - a fun night of reminiscing and understanding..I don't think I realized how much I missed some of them until I actually saw them...we're all the same people just older..which is a relief and us being adults now realize the reality of it..we're still not a part of each other's daily lives and most of us won't be ever again ( i didn't even switch contact info with some of them) but we'll always be there and have our past memories until life brings us together again...

Some pics from the wedding..I'm kinda regretting not getting a huge group picture of all of us! :(

(No idea who that random drunk guy in the middle is but the guy behind him is the groom.)

Gotta love dem whities..haha...Told you all I grew up in a white town..but really that's all for now....Enjoy and I'll be back soon!

ok so i suck at updating xanga now...the last couple weekends have been soo awesome..

BAY 2 BREAKERS
http://www.ingbaytobreakers.com/main.html

last sunday on 5/21, tony and i ran our first run together - a famous 12k race in san fran called the bay to breakers..where people run across the city from the bay to the ocean..most people..well most people our age..actually drink it..people have floats and shopping carts full of kegs and beer..and people are all dressed up in costumes..it's..pure..mayhem..but needless to say..tony and i still ran even though a bunch of people we knew were drinking it..time: 1hr 12 minutes! oh yeaaah! can you believe 6 months ago..this little nerdy acute asthma girl couldn't even run 1/4 a mile without gasping for air...no joke..so i'm very proud of myself..and i'm kinda addicted to running now..next step: half marathon? who knows..could be a possibility now~!

now unto this weekend..the moment we've all been waiting for..*drum rolllll*

MEMORIAL DAY WKND 2006

ok so basically..this wknd can be summed up in one phrase: ate like a king and drank like a fish..i love that motto..it's one to live by..but it was soo great to see all the umass heads as usual..it's crazy how we used to all see each other every single day and now times together are so few and far between..it really makes you appreciate every moment you have together..i never realize how much i miss everyone until i see them..it was a crazy debaucherous weekend..watch for pics to come! i love you guys! there's just not enough time in one weekend to catch up with everyone! but what a great kick off to summer..mini reunion in a couple weeks...location: sf..UH OH...UH OH...
