| Some Yummy Food I've been Eating...So here's some yummy food I've been eating over the past couple of weeks:
1. Baked ziti at Nardone's Gourmet Italian Deli and Caterer in Valencia, CA (aka Santa Clarita). It has the *BEST* baked ziti I've ever tasted!!! Hmm...have I mentioned how much I Italian food? I ate here with my friend, avrilmai. Yummy! Thanks for introducing me to this place, Kat!

2. Chorizo omelette at Gaffey's Street Diner in San Pedro, CA. Ate here with my friend, SY, who was stopping by LA before returning to Pittsburgh. Yummy...they had really, really good chorizo. (Caveat: the picture is not what the omelette looked like. I couldn't find an accurate picture of what I ate. )

3. Pesto pasta at Compelled Bible Study. Hmm...I pesto, too. I love it so much, that I make some for lunch all the time! (Caveat: this is what the pasta looked like. Again, could not find an accurate depiction of what I ate.)

Other Updates: Oh man, just looking at these photos is making me hungry. Hahaha...I just bought a new cookbook called: The Best Light Recipes. My roommate has the regular version, so I decided to purchase the "light" book. Upon reviewing it, I only have one statement: Sarah will trying some new recipes this year!
I've also been reading the book called "Pleasing People". It's definitely a convicting book and has put lots of things in perspective for me. Rather than seeking the approval of man, we should all seek the approval of God!
| A Visit to the Dentist...This morning I awoke bright and early to be at my 8 AM dentist appointment (teeth cleaning). While there, I asked my dentist to take some X-rays to determine an extraction of my wisdom teeth was required. Well, it turns out that I apparently was born with only *one* wisdom tooth! O_O Now, does that make me less wise? Ha! Just kidding!! (Sorry, it's corny, I know.) I actually was very surprised to hear this fact and asked my dentist if this was common. His answer was that it was not, but there have been people who are born with NONE! He also consoled me by stating I was saving a lot of money (even with help of insurance) and much discomfort. I can't say I'm complaining, but I will say "Praise the Lord!" for saving me some $ and discomfort as I had anticipated to spend a lot of money on my teeth!! Hahaha...
The day went on as I a gal pal from Pittsburgh came to visit LA (Soon-you)! We ate some finger-lickin' good food, and of course, had great fellowship, too.
| An Interesting Monday...Last week, my supervisor was out of the office due to a "food-borne virus"
that penetrated his stomach. As the virus took a toll on his health,
executive management notified us this afternoon to say that he (my
supervisor) will retire and will be in the office on May 23rd to pack
his things. Please pray for him as he returns to Atlanta where his wife
currently resides and that he enjoys retirement. He is already retired
from his first career, and thus, this was more of a "fun job" for him.
I have to say that though this news doesn't surprise me (my boss rarely
is out of the office for that long of a time and he is elderly), this
is not the ideal situation. Replacing him will be near impossible as he was the best
supervisor I had ever had. He united the team, outlining a clear vision
of what we needed to do and had it implemented and an efficient way.
Further, my temporary supervisor is *Tiger*. As this is the
case, my chances of promotion in October may be affected because she
doesn't really know what I do and I am not really on her "favorite"
list. *sigh* So what does this mean? I'm not sure, but all I know
is that I should be comforted by this verse: "Trust in Him at all
times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for
us" (Psalm 62:8) and know that in the end, it doesn't really matter
what happens at work. All that matters is if you are keeping an eternal
perspective on things...
| Like a meticulous collector, you've fed your brain a unique set of facts and figures over the years. Words, numbers, you've got it all. That's what makes you a Facts Curator.
Whether or not you intend to absorb every piece of information that comes your way, your mind has certain steel-trap qualities to it. You are a knowledge sponge. You have almost enough words in your head to fill a dictionary, and you're equally adept when it comes to manipulating numbers. You can also detect important patterns in number sequences, and probably remember the mnemonic devices you were taught in grade school.
undefined
You may feel comfortable in classroom settings where absorbing details is critical. You're also able to learn from example and piece together all the little facts in life to get to the big picture. That's why you never stop accumulating information as you walk through life.
Your strengths lie in both the verbal and math realms — placing you in the same arena as someone like Bill Gates. Gates has the ability to not only store and retrieve an especially large amount of specialized data, but to translate and present that information to the population at large. His entire empire is based on this unique talent. And to think — your brain works in this same way! When it comes right down to it, you and other Facts Curators can ride a wave of information to live a truly enriched life.
That's what my results were the second time I took the test...(but same IQ)...here's the result from the first time:
Visual Mathematician
You have a strong ability to process visual-spatial and mathematical information and this, combined with your logical mind, means you are a Visual Mathematician. You can manipulate multiple parts of the picture (or problem) to come up with a solution and can understand the "big picture," which is partly why people may turn to you for direction.
Like Einstein, your ability to detect patterns and your skills in maths and logic, make it natural for you to come up with ideas and theories that simplify processes for everyone.
So do you think this is true? Do I really look at the "big picture"? Do I really simplify a lot of things? I'm just glad it didn't tell me I was in the wrong line of work...hahaha.
