Read Ephesians Today

CrossShadow2wp

Hi to all of our friends and family. It seems as though only one update per month is about all I can do right now. We have not sent out a recent news letter for many reasons. Our next one will be sent out after June 15th. This will detail the next phase of our missionary service to our Lord Jesus, here in Alaska. Things are looking very busy and very positive. Please pray that the Lords will and work be done.

Jesus_170

He is our everything. It is so incredible to watch His work being done and to be a part of it in this far north land. We thank you all for you financial support and your earnest prayers. Please continue to pray for us and this ministry here in Alaska. The enemy in in overdrive-overtime trying to dismantle everything. It is only God's power and by His will that we are able to serve. HE MUST INCREASE and we must decrease. Please pray for us as we seek Him and His will for more opportunities and guidance. The needs here are plenty and so much goes unfullfilled. Please also pray for the other staff and families here trying the best in the knowledge and grace of God to serve Him. We really need prayer. We are praying for you all every day. We spend many times a day together as a family talking, and praying and listening to God. He is Good. We hope you all are doing well. Please feel free to call or write us or email any time.

Thank you, again, so much for your prayers and support. We look forward to sending out our next prayer letter in a few weeks from now. Till HE returns-

Your best life...WHEN?!?!?!?

Hello everyone. We ARE still alive. We have alot to share and will be doing so in the next few days. Most of our East coast family and friends are asleep so you will see this on Thursday. Get ready to do some reading. Thank you for you prayers and support. We are in a battle...and so are you.

Our hearts are stirred!! Are you seeing the same things we are? What is going on? We ALL should be in heartfelt, weeping prayer for this country and for the Church. I will be mentioning many things in my upcoming weblog. We're like the old dog here, you know, when the dog cocks over her head back and forth as when they are trying to figure out what you are saying to them. We feel the same way.

Oh, by the way. This is our dog, Tipper... who was hit by the Alaska train... and lived to "bark" about it. More on that later.

And here is one to leave you on...

Makes me wonder, how about you?

Think about it

Please keep praying

Hi dear friends and family. It's been a few weeks since an update and I want to let you know that we are thinking of you all and praying for you all back there daily. We have really increased our family time in prayer and reading aloud the Bible as it's the only thing that sustains us. You too! It's just awesome to know that God Himself is that interested in our daily activities and He is more than willing to give us what we need to do His job. However, just as scripture tells us, we are in a raging spiritual battle and we feel it and see it. Please pray for us as the enemy lurks and tries to tear us down and scare us.

Just a quick update of what we have been up too the last few weeks. RADIO-RADIO-RADIO!! I'm doing lots of radio. I'm still amazed to realize that God has given me a microphone to talk to most of Alaska about Jesus. What an awesome thing. I take that very seriously, even though I'm having to learn the old fasion way of just getting in there and doing it. God's word is going out to the villages and they are receiving it.

I've been having to cut lots of fire wood. Our car's alternator died and I had to replace that as well as our main computer died the next day. The hard drive crashed and mother board has gone bad. What a wonderful ordeal.  We have adopted a phrase from our dear-dear friend Marilyn McCaul when these things keep happening... "whatever".

It seems to make us feel alot better when you just say that, know that God truely IS in control, the devil keeps on trying to drive us away, everything keeps breaking at a rapid pace, it's cold, we miss home at times, hey... "whatever" !! We just pray and thank God for what we do have that works, what He has done for us, what He is doing and we just keep showing up for service. Eternity is what matters, not broken things here on earth.

Keep that in mind as things break for you and don't go your way. It gets us all down from time to time, but He knows and cares and always is there to help. He really is.

Of course this is why I have no pictures to put on our page since they were all on the hard drive. Whatever.

We'll just have to take more!!!! Please keep us in your prayer time as you all are always in ours. And thank you so much for your support and love.

In the battle up north-

Billy

The Latest from the James family

Hi there to all of our supporters, friends, family and all the rest whom we left down there in the "other world". We sure miss everyone and hope that your Christmas was as meaningfull as ours. We can't say thank you enough and it does not seem good enough to just say it. Thank you for your blessings and gifts. We really needed the warm clothes and the extras. It sure has made life easier. Hey... that reminds me of my favorite employer back home. Please buy your gas and fuel and quick-stop items from Spinx. (free commercial, if you live in the upstate of SC)

James Family 01-08

But easy life it IS NOT. Everything here is in the constant state of breaking. You look at it... it breaks. If you look at the thing that's next to the thing that you are looking at then that thing breaks. It's a hoot. (not) But we try not to let that get us down. The Lord does see us through. I have some pictures of life here that I want to share with you.

First, check out the going to cut down a Christmas tree. The kids thought that was great. We made a thing of it.

The kids just rode along in the -15 degree winter and loved it. They would not let me cut down the one I really wanted.

100_5112

Oh well, We just went for a regular size one. Things are bigger here though.

Amber even stood on a chair and put the Angel up first as she does every year.

She made cookies and we ate em.

We had some friends over and had a Christmas dinner. It was good to be with believers on the Lords special day. The kids loved their presents and it seem to brighten their spirits up.

100_5164

It was, however, a cold and silent night.

100_5151

Here is just a few pictures of around the house that we live in. It's just been cold and we are trying to get used to it. Cutting fire wood is a real treat. This will be done in the warmer months this year. No more -20 log splitting for me.

God is really working us out with our faith. It was hard to leave and it is hard to continue but we see what God is doing here and we see and feel the spritual battle in the souls of man. Just this week there were 4 deaths in the area. All suicide and alcohol related. One man shot and killed himself less that 2 miles from our house in the middle of the road. Tragedy after tragedy. I could tell you many stories of things just like this that have happened just since the new year. The lost-ness here is just heart breaking. Young folks with no hope, yet we see hope all around if people would just believe. Please continue to pray for what we are doing here. The radio is going out for the first time this winter into regions of darkness and is having effect. We are getting neat reports from the north slope region and other areas that are so uplifting that we just know Gods will is being accomplished. It does come with a price and many are paying dearly.

100_5100

We had lots of wind today and these few pictures here of the kids were today. I had to run the radio station today as another couple has left the ministry. The burden continues to rise and not be equally met. I had to take the kids out and let them romp in the wind and snow. We did some sleding but the wind was so bad we had to leave early.

Work at the airfield on the plane. That's always fun in sub-zero temps. A hangar would be a good thing.

100_5281

Please email us or write or call and let us know how things are back there with you. What is God doing in your life. We really love to know. It keeps us connected to you. You can email jamesfamily@vfcm.org

We thank God for you and and thank you for you helping to reach the lost and dying world with hope. Eternity is affected. The Kingdom work is being done.

God bless you all. In His work-

The James family
