| The Heart of the CampIn the Gospel of John the fifth chapter, there is a testimony of something that happened at the pool of Bethesda – a place where a multitude of sick people gathered. This multitude consisted of people who were like each other: the blind, the lame, and the paralyzed. It was at this place Jesus engaged a man who was paralyzed for thirty-eight years. By the time this encounter was over the man could do what he could not do before – he could walk.
God has been using the GXP Camp like he used the Pool of Bethesda. It’s a place for people - who are like each other - to gather and have an encounter with Jesus.
The sick at the Pool of Bethesda were rejected by society and looked down upon. They gathered together at the pool because it was a place that they could feel safe around each other, and it was within this safety that a miracle took place.
We pray that all who attend GXP can walk away with this kind of an experience. That they will know what it’s like to be in the safety of others who are like them and that they will be able to do what they could not before - to walk closer with God more than ever.
