wedding cake1

Ok so the bride does have a groom. I do not know who they are.

Sunday....my parents, children and grandchildren were here today as they are most every Sunday. This may have been our last Sunday dinner here in this house...maybe. I hope we can get things rolling fast. I'd like to get moved in time to set out some bushes and flowers before the weather gets too hot and dry. Now is the perfect time. Well, no, not today, it was rainy, windy and cold. Blackberry or whippoorwill weather.

Thank you for all the good wishes for Mother's Day. I hope you all had a great Sunday.

Husb fingers are sore from being trapped yesterday.

Husb is working on the upstairs balcony. It's going to be so nice! Too bad we couldn't have had that while we are living here. Anyway he had the extention ladder fixed so he could lean it against the 2nd floor balcony to fix the railing around it. He got his fingers caught in the ladder between the rungs. I ran to get ...anything to pry it apart it was mashing them. I grabbed a carpenters square and pryed it open a little, just enough that he wouldn't be in pain while I went to hunt for the crow bar and hammer. He still couldn't get his fingers out. He was standing on top of the ladder and his body weight was holding the ladder in the squeeze. He couldn't get off the ladder. I ran downstairs and to the garage where I hunted in a frenzy of junk scattered everywhere. Husb doesn't organize. They should all be together but the hammers are on one wall, the crowbar on another nails on another....found the hamer but couldn't find the crowbar. I could hear him shouting ...something at me....I said...."God, find it for me please" and when I turned, there it was right in front of my face. I grabbed it and headed  back upstairs. As I drove the crowbar into the space between the steps of the ladder Husb began pulling his fingers out. I thought they would probably be broken but no...not a scratch and he wasn't hurt. Miracle I guess!

Another busy day. Scooby and Carebear stayed all night last night and got up early this morning. They left and I went to the store to get stuff for tomorrows dinner. I found roses and got one for my daughter, Son's wife, my Mom and Mother in law. They're so pretty I couldn't not get them. After I got back from the store and got most of the groceries put up, Son called and wanted me to keep New Baby Doodle so he could take his wife out to eat for Mother's day.  After Ophie came and got her I fixed part of the dinner.

I'm really tired and going to bed now.

Have a great weekend!

Art (it's a personal thing)

I guess art, to me is just a hobby. It doesn't take over my whole life. I do wake up thinking about a particular thing I want to paint or draw most mornings...not that I ever get to do it. I like to think about how I would paint certain things that I see....like all the wonderful photos you all take! I like to claim to be an artist but maybe my goal is not so much for myself to be an artist as it is for me to be an inspiration. I'm here to incite inspiration....and get inspiration. I just hope I inspire others to paint, draw or whatever they do.... as much as they inspire me.

It's just a bride I sketched in charcoal.

Nobody in particular.

Just thought it would be a good study.

She needs a veil.

Signed away my first born today at the bank. Got a loan. Never thought I'd ever have this much money. Now I have to spend it for another place to sleep. LOL!

Monday and Tuesday

Monday-Signed loan application papers and got approved.

Tuesday- went back to the house and Son inspected it. I wanted him to help Husb because, to be truthful, Husb isn't doing very well. Son said it looks real good under the house. We forgot the flashlight so couldn't see in the attic too well but if the other handywork is an indication...it's a well-built house. I didn't think one could be built as this one we have now but....
Took the grandgirls to see it. They like all the concrete so they can skate and ride. I kept Scooby and Carebear this evening. Scooby said she wanted to to go Burger King instead of McDonalds...she wants to try new foods.hungrysmiley       (what could the difference be? )

I heard Carebear making a wish on a dandelion..."I wish NanNan could keep her house now and not be old".  then she blew all the fuzzys. They want me to move Frankin with me. That's the bathtub's name. I told them old Franklin was just too heavy to move.

I have the window open and can hear the crickets outside. It sounds so good.

I'm so tired.

Derby Day! 2008

Kentucky Derby

It's Kentucky Derby Saturday....the only day of the year I watch sports on TV!  I did this painting way back when Funny Cide won the derby.

Summary of the eRumor:
The eRumor claims that the University of Kentucky has removed the Holocaust from its curriculum because it offended Muslims.

The Truth:
This is a hoax. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/holocaust.asp

I was right! (again).....Kentucky is too good to do a dumb thing like that. Besides....NO race or religion should have that much influence over a majority.

EDIT: 6:46 pm...Ok, the horse I picked, Big Brown, won...but I kept seeing a 5 while the horses were running....it was eight bells, who came in 2nd but fell and and had multiple breaks and had to be put to sleep right there on the scene.  That made it sad.

Then the dadgone newsperson has to ride up beside the winner and interview them on their horse...which takes all the excitement out of it. They shouldn't be allowed to do that.

Going to pack some more boxes now.
