Art (it's a personal thing)

I guess art, to me is just a hobby. It doesn't take over my whole life. I do wake up thinking about a particular thing I want to paint or draw most mornings...not that I ever get to do it. I like to think about how I would paint certain things that I see....like all the wonderful photos you all take! I like to claim to be an artist but maybe my goal is not so much for myself to be an artist as it is for me to be an inspiration. I'm here to incite inspiration....and get inspiration. I just hope I inspire others to paint, draw or whatever they do.... as much as they inspire me.

It's just a bride I sketched in charcoal.

Nobody in particular.

Just thought it would be a good study.

She needs a veil.

Signed away my first born today at the bank. Got a loan. Never thought I'd ever have this much money. Now I have to spend it for another place to sleep. LOL!

I love your art. and yes, your bride needs a veil :) will you finish her?
my mother used to be frustrated with me because I never "did anything" with my art. I was never sure I wanted to do anything with it tho. I think she was frustrated because she never did anything with hers either. like you said, tho, it just never took over my life (like writing does).

I am excited you get to find a new home-I always loved that. I am almost to the point where I want a new home too. almost :)
Good luck!

I like the bride. Interesting choice of subject. Brides like that are like fairy tales to me. I know I will never get married like that. Can't wear a dress like that with all my tattoos hahaha.

OMG!  I love you home that you are moving from and it is an awesome price!  If I was called to live in Tennessee, I honestly would think of buying it.  I Love it and love how you have it decorated!  That porch, the flower, the great room, and ahhhhhhhh that claw foot bathtub!  But alas this is where I feel my creative spiritual tribe is.  My home will be found soon.  For now I am happy with my little three bedroom adobe.  Now, have you posted photos of the new house?  I can’t wait to see it! .  I love the sketch of the Bride.  If I ever marry I would love to have sketches of me and my beloved instead of photos, that would be so awesome!  Maybe if Mr. Right ever makes it…I could commission you to do just that! I love your work and it is inspiring!   And like OceanStarr said in her blog, art is a way of life.  And I will add that mastering that way of life is what an artist is.   I am at work and I need to close up and take little Mr. Tucker and myself home! Have a good evening and a great weekend!  Ms. Elizabeth

@jillcarmel -  No, she's not me.  My wedding was just walk in the church with parents and inlaws...no music...no cake...say the "I dos" as fast as possible and get away. No frilly stuff for me. The only regrets I ever had about the way my wedding was is...we didn't elope.  We were going to but my Dad found out and put a stop to it.

@GailThePainterly - maybe he wanted to give you away? My dad did the first time and he wasn't alive the 2nd time when I married a catholic boy but he had met him.

@jillcarmel - I think you're right. I think he did want to give me away but I was so shy I just couldn't do a big wedding. He gave my aunt away just 5 months before that and I guess he liked it. At that time I thought men didn't really like fru-fru weddings but later, just since my daughter got married, I'm learning that they do! I was so surprised.

@GailThePainterly - I was shy too so we had a wedding at the church but there were just about 50 people tops or felt like that many and dad didn't get to give my older sister away and I knew it hurt him cause they got married in Vegas.
