| sicki was so emotionally sick here. now i am physically sick/in pain.
I got acupuncture for the first time the other day. I don't know if the 10+ needles in my body and 5983 needle pricks in my back did anything. besides being in so much pain, it hurts more to be alone... I will stop my whining now. Its not like I'm going to be crippled for the rest of my life.

| week 5I can't believe my time here is half way over. time flies by when you work ridiculous hours a week. I have to admit I did not have much time to think about anything since Ive been on this island. mainly due to the fact that when I'm not working, I'm busy catching up on sleep. The other day I literally did not get out of bed for almost 24 hours, except to eat one meal.
Observation 1- Koreans are workaholics. Observation 2- Koreans are alcoholics. Only because of observation 1. The work culture that I have witnessed is not one that I would ever want to be part of. Actually, I don't even know if the hospitality field in general is something I would like to continue in the future. Life is getting scary.
home seems so far away. Being on the island is suffocating me now. All i see through every window of our resort is the ocean. It makes me wonder why the hell did I come all the way over here. | | |
| week 2 on the islandI guess I am getting pretty adjusted to things here. The girls I work with are all around my age so its not too hard making friends. It is hard making friends because I had to move from the lobby to the 5th floor. My work week is pretty random. This week I have Tuesday and Thursday off...
All I need right now is a freaking burger!!!
I get pretty bored at night. When I get bored I think about my wedding day. Not necessarily who my groom will be, but things like who will be my maids, who will catch the bouquet, the colors, and who will sit at a table together...

| my first day offI've never felt so lonely and depressed. Everything around me is so unfamiliar. Today was my first day off. I spent most of the day in bed.
this picture is not on black and white mode. thats just how gloomy it is outside. It's been raining everyday. I miss the sun.

| people of shineville부사장님 aka Vice President This guy is old. and he doesn't do much. All i see him do is walk around the resort and he makes sure that everyone is doing something. He doesn't really talk. All I know is that he deserves a 90 degree bow.
문 대리님 aka Head of House Keeping She's probably in her early 50's. She makes us smile alot. She smiles alot too, but its kind of the freaky/creepy smile. Her lipstick scares me. She's also kinda big and loud. Basically, she's scary...
초장님 aka Head of all the departments (??) oh god, he talks alot. and his breathe really stinks. He repeats the same thing over and over again. He is the only one that does not know that I am fluent in Korean yet. It's pretty funny, but i think i must speak some Korean tomorrow before he hears from the others that I understand every word he says and that he doesn't have to try to translate it.
팀장님 aka Food and Beverage Manager This old guy is bald. and he likes to sit at our table and eat with us. It kinda bothers me. We all tend to tense up when he sits down. He's basically my main boss b/c I am working in the food and beverage section for now. there's just something about him I don't like.
주인님 aka asst. F&B Manager (female) This lady is all wrong .She tells us to do one thing and then she goes off and does it all wrong herself. Today she told us to clean off the wine glasses. She kept telling us to be careful, and in the end she's the one that dropped not one but TWO wine glasses. It made me giggle the first time but then I kinda felt bad when it happened the second time. Anyways, she's not very attractive. I think she'll end up with a bad nickname by the time I leave.
주인님 aka asst. F&B Manager (male) So I was always worried that I'll end up with a sleazy boss. Well, this is him. He first is amazed that I was born in the states. Then he tries to talk to me by asking me what his English name should be. And then he goes on to asking me how much soju I can drink, the first time I drank, and then if I have a bf in the states. oooh and then he asked me how old I thought he was. In my opinion he's at least 30. I would like to avoid him as much as possible.
I'm having the most difficult time trying to say english words in koren. such as 샐러드, 수프, 스파게티...
