| Okay, this is a political cartoon. It is a statement about Hermeneutics.

Talk to me. What do you think?

| "Whosoever desires constant success must change his conduct with the times."
What do you think about this?
I think this is untrue.
Of course, from a business standpoint, to sell a product or service, you must change your marketing schemes with the changes in culture, which has been accelerated by technological advances in communication.
However, if we are talking about general conduct of a man, this should be static, that is, if we have standards of conduct. A standard should be static, unchangeable, complete. Through the Bible God gives a moral code of conduct to all humanity. These are the rules for living and the principles around which we are to form our lives.
Also, how do you define success? Do you define it as accomplishing goals? as victory over an adversary? as acquirement of wealth or power? If it is the first two, the Bible's standards self-proclaim the result of its rules as success. If it is the third one, then the Bible's standards are in contradiction with success, because wealth and power are not any guarantee for compliance with the Bible's rules.
Instead, the Bible's code of conduct offers peace of mind (and heart), supernatural security, eternal life, and a personal relationship with the creator of the universe.
I'd say keeping a consistent conduct to gain this success is a fair trade-off with the success of temporary gain.
