Film online

Hey Everyone,

Micah and I are featured in a short film called "Break" that was recently shown at the Imago Film Festival. It was directed, filmed, and edited by Braden Heckman and is based on a story from my journal in 2003.

If you feel like it, take a peek at:

Thanks to Brady for the opportunity (and the flippin' sweet film-production skills)! He actually won an award at the festival with this film.

It's very ironic...

I just went to make coffee, which is pretty much essential to me waking up. However, I'm so zoned out that I ALMOST made decaf.

Crisis averted.

My kids have a snow day today. I am severely jealous.

From the lips of children and infants...

...you have ordained praise.

The kids at Harvest led me in worship today. The younger classes came in to sing a few Christmas songs during the service. Like any good Christmas program, there was the usual cast of characters:

- the Nose-picker
- the Twirler
- the Loud Singer
- the Ham in the front row
- the Dazed and Confused Kid...also in the front row

I simply love hearing kids sing Christmas carols in church and the fact that one of my sons was up front brought an even larger lump to my throat than usual.

I love that the story of Christmas is simple enough for kids to proclaim it. I love that it's mysterious enough to capture their attention. And I love that it is so profound that I can spend the rest of my life marveling at the love of a God who would send His only Son for me.

He made a way in the manger, a way through the Son,
Messiah, the promise before time had begun,
For God so loved this world, though He knew what love would cost
He made a way in the manger, to make a way to the cross.

Crikey...

So, did anyone else watch the memorial service for Steve Irwin on Animal Planet last night?  Most moving moment, hands down, was when his daughter, Bindi, spoke with incredible composure and grace about her Dad.

I suppose that moment affected me the most because the saddest part, for me, of Steve Irwin's death has been the reality that he has left behind such a young family.  It's been yet another reminder to me of what a privilege and responsibility it is to be a Dad.

Anyway...to get the Aussie take on the Memorial Service, check out:
