Hi Everyone, Its been a long time, I can't believe how time is going by!

Just getting ready for Christmas, too much to do but I wanted to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas"

I didn't bake as much this year, too much work... or maybe getting lazier... but I did end up buying a tray of cookies to fill in, Joe says they just aren't as good as mine. He loves this eagle brand easy friutcake  that I make... its SO moist and good but you have to like fruitcake I guess to even try it.

I still have shopping and all my wrapping to do, but NP... I'm not getting stressed about it, it'll get done. I'm a lil bit behind this year b/c I was in Ottawa for a week and also at the cottage alot.

We have missed a few hockey games this season as well... With Joes job and schedule its hard to do personal things when you have commitments to constituents. We give all our tickets away when we can't go... we have great season ticket club seats, and we're happy that someone, anyone can use them when we can't.

Miss you my friends... I know I always say it but I'll try to get back here again soon!

"MERRY CHRISTMAS"

Here are some cottage pics!!

This last pic was taken last fall, I'll take some spring ones when I go next week!

Its been SO hot and humid here these last few days... high 80 's... much like a steam bath!

I'm trying to get some gardening done but there is never a cool time to do it, so I guess I'm staying in to catch up on housework.

I've been at the cottage on and off all spring, we are adding another bath and bedroom downstairs and I have free time to be there so I'm kind of  overseeing the reno lol. Its all done now and I'm home for a week or 2... then itching to get back up there.

Its 3 hours away and I don't like the drive but gotta do it to get there! Joes starting to call the cottage "The Money Pit " LOL seems we are always fixing up, adding, changing or just buying new things. I take a full bin with me each time of new purchases... like the flipflop wind chimes, they were so cute "Kate said "we have to have them"...  then of course we had to get the flipflop outdoor mat to go with them.

And now I'm seeing all sorts of flipflop accessories  like candles, and plates and napkins  and they even have flipflop stepping stones that glow in the dark. Kate said "We have to get those mom" ... we did and hopefully thats it for flipflop stuff for now!!

Off to get some laundry done... TC!!

Hi Everyone!!  Yes, I'm still around... Now I'm campaiging for Joe... again.  As my Canadians friends  know, and some American friends as well... we are into an election campaign.

Hes rerunning in our riding and the election is winding down as election day is Jan. 23rd .Joes going to win NP... at least that is the word EVERYWHERE we go. Its kind of weird when strangers come up to you and identify themselves and say they are voting for your husband. How do they know me?? lol How do they know who I am?? Its also weird when  Joe and I are together, you can read their lips "Oh, theres Joe Preston " Lets run over and tell him we're voting for him lol

The Constituents, voters, people young and old are wonderfull in our riding and they give him so much support b/c he has done so much for  them and loves what he does.

ANYWAY, thats what we've been up to since early dec. and even b4 that!!

We did manage to get away to the cottage over New years eve and had a great time.

This is Joe and Kate b4 we went cross country skiing!

This is a cottage view from the driveway!

Well folks, thats all for now... I'll try... TRY... to get back here more often!

I haven't left xanga... just been too busy to even want to post these days.

We bought a cottage and have spent some time fixing and doing stuff to make it homey and cozy for our tastes. Its up on a lil hill and its cool b/c you can see people and cars going by but they can't see you up there.

Its got 2 fireplaces and vaulted cielings in the livingroom and kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 1 bath, very modest and simple. We brought all our wicker and country furniture up there and its cozy and perfect now.

We want to spend as much time as we can there but its a 3 hour drive, I just have to suck it up and just do it LOL!!!

My niece helped me strip wallpaper and get the walls ready to paint, but that will have to wait till next time we go. My other niece and I painted the panelling downstairs (gag) and it looks WAY better now!

Joe and Adam did lots of outside maintenance and Kate helped me inside.

It has an amazing deck, its huge and I know we will have many good times out there!

So now you know what I've pretty much been up to these days!!
