Growing Up...

Ahh, xanga. My reliable safeplace for memories; the good, the bad, and the just plain weird. How have you been my lovelies? Currently I've set my xanga up to be nonviewable except to um, three people? lol. I still don't get the concept. You have friends, but you also have subscribers. Do your subscribers get your entries still? Or just your friends? Xanga, go back to the simple days. And make an option to make mass old entries private. =] I'd even pay for that.

I graduated from highschool. East High Class of 2008. And now I'm on my way to being a college kid. WHOAAAA. I guess I'll go back to my old way of updating. It just looks so neat and organized. =]

School. So I'll be going to KU this year. [Rock Chalk Jayhawk, right? ] I've decided that I want a Bachelor's of Science degree. I'm just not sure what major I want yet. I told my advisor it's between Biochem and Psychology. lol He gave me weird looks. And I learned there's a big difference between the major of Biochem and the major of Chemistry with a biochem option. Obvious answer: chem with a biochem option has more chem. Anyways, school starts on the 21st. I hate to act like a freshman excited for the first day of highschool [except in this case, college], but I can't really hide it. The campus is beautiful. Lots of oxygen from trees. :D Oh, and my classes! I got a few hours of credit from IB and AP so I got to skip out on english and math and stuff, so here are my classes:

  • Chemistry
  • Korean
  • Macoeconomics
  • The Samarai

Unforunately, KU didn't give me credit for SLing in chem so I have to start chem just like everyone else. Boo. At least the class will be easier right? :D Yay! And as for korean, I could've started with spanish at a third-year level, but I decided I want to experiment with another language before I go back to spanish. Hell, I've gone one year without spanish, I can manage another year. I heard korean is an easy language, and since most of the music I listen to is korean anyway, why not? My advisor called me "interesting" for taking the classes I did. lol And "The Samarai". Sounds kickass doesn't it? lol. I hope it's a kickass class. I need about 5 books for it, but they're all relatively inexpensive so it's not too bad. Ahh I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control and I think I like it.

IB. WOOOOOOOO! I got mi IB diploma. Yessir! Honestly, the entire summer up until July 6th, I was stressed out like crazy thinking I didn't get my diploma because of psychology. But I ended up doing pretty good.

  • HL Bio - 5
  • HL Psych - 5
  • HL English - 6
  • SL Chem - 5
  • SL Spanish - 5
  • SL Math - 7

Yea baby! 7 in MATH!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! All that plus an extra point from TOK/EE, gives me 34 points for my diploma. IB with AP gave me 26 hours of credit with KU. Yay.

Lawrence. I'm moving up to Lawrence on Friday. I'm stressing about growing up, but in the end, everything will be okay. You know there will be bumps along the way, and there's nothing you can do about it. All you have to do is deal with it and make the best out of what's to come. Afterall, it's what happens to us that shapes who we are in the end. [Wow I just sounded deep. Teehee.] Anyways, I haven't packed at all. >_< Next week will surely be interesting.

Birthday. Speaking of next week, guess who's turning 18? One more month and I'll be legally 18, which means I can apply for better jobs, and get a credit card. And go to a strip club. Why oh why do I have to have two birthdays?! If only my legal birthday would fall a month BEFORE my real birthday. Then I could enjoy all the pirks beforehand. Hehehehehhehehe.

Random. So I was thinking to myself a few weeks ago and wondered something. You know how if you dig deep enough into the earth, the dirt becomes a lighter color, like a poopie color, as opposed to the dirt on top? I always wondered why the dirt below looked lighter. Then it hit me: because the dirt on top is dirtier than the dirt on the bottom! LMAO! I crack myself up.

I am in love with 2008. Why?

I got my car.

Year of graduation.

Best of all, I met my Kiet.

Yay!

Yay, it's my birthday! Happy birthday to me and my brother!

Males. This entire week, I've been having weird interactions between guys. Extremely weird interactions. First the old man from the last entry tries to get me to live with him, but that's not just it. No siree. Wednesday, someone random popped up on my on aim saying disgusting and perverted things about my picture. He admitted he's my friend, but has yet to tell me which friend. Thursday, a guy kept looking at my butt. He had actually gone up to ask for napkins just to see me walk away and look at my butt some more. When he wasn't looking at my butt, however, he was busy staring at my face. Later that night, I broke up with Paul. All things are good between us. Then today, a mormon hit on me at work. Then another man seemed to try hitting on me as well. He actually commented on my sushi. (Something I've never even thought of happening.) However, it's topped off with ridiculously cute moments from a hot chef at work.  If only I knew cantonese, *snaps in disappointment*!

Birthday. Whoot! It's my birthday. I had my first party today at the park in the morning. It was fun. Not many people showed up, as expected. I didn't invite most of the people that came to my parties in previous years. My second party is on Monday. I can't wait!

Origami. Did you know it really originated in China? Crazy. Since I got a bunch of origami presents today, I'm gonna start learning origami. Weee!

I. am. so. ridiculously. freakin. bored.

It's 2 am and I couldn't think of anything else I'd rather do, so I'm choosing to update my Xanga. I'll separate stuff like I did in the past few entries because again, it makes me look cool and professional. WEEEEE!!

Tian Wai Fei Xian / The Little Fairy / Fairy From Wonderland. AHHHHHHHH!! My current favorite actress is Ariel Lin. If you've ever seen any of her Taiwanese dramas (It Started With a Kiss, Love Contract, Tokyo Juliet, etc.), you'd see how versatile and cool she is. I discovered Tian Wai Fei Xian from a S.H.E music video (awesome song btw) and thought it was her upcoming drama The Legend of the Condors, but apparently not. I watched a few episodes off of YouTube and am now downloading all the episodes. (2 freakin entire days to download. RIDICULOUS!) The only thing is, there are no subtitles after epsisode 9 because the subs have yet to be completed. However, I shall continue to watch all I can. I JUST found out that YesAsia.com has the entire series with English subtitles for $50 which I feel is completely worth it so hehehehhehehehehhehehhe. I plan on buying it and not sleeping for a few days. There are about 39 episodes total.  They dubbed Ariel's voice in it, which is highly annoying cuz I love her voice, but you get used to the high-pitched, childish voice. Check it out on YouTube sometime!

School. I bought my two books for the IB reading assignment. How to Read Literature Like a Professor and Purple Hibiscus. I feel cool. I know what a hibiscus is. AND what it looks like. Hehehehehehe. I'm reading the How-To book first and though I'm only on chapter 5, I think I really like this book. It's actually interesting and not like a text book at all. I've actually even highlighted the stuff I think is important. (This would be an OH MY GOD moment, just so you know.) However, homework is homework, and this is homework. So I'm still procrastinating on it when I have the chance. =]

Health. Hehe I'm finally working out on a semi-regular schedule. I've been running and I'm finally sore so I'm pretty happy. I love the pain of being sore. For some reason, I lost 5 lbs after my first day of working out. I don't know how that happened but okay. I'm slowly reaching my goal of being fit and skinny and it feels good. The only challenge is sticking to it because I have one of the worst problems with commitment.

Birthday. WEEE! I'm turning 17 in 2 weeks!!!!!! I love birthdays but I honestly don't know what I'm going to do this year. The only solid thing I know will happen is my annual water balloon fight.  No one will keep me from my water balloon fight. No one. The problem is what to do after that. My birthday is on a Saturday this year so I was planning on celebrating it on Saturday but I have work later that day so I guess I'll be doing that.

Friends. I miss Annie & Teresa. We need to get together and burn all those calories by laughing our butts off again.

Surprise! Beni's back and ready to kick booty! Here goes another long update.

New Layout. It's almost been a year. I did the last layout for my sweet 16, so it's been about 11 months now. heh.. I know I know, slacking. ^_^;; Anyways, for those of you that are still doing Xanga, enjoy my new layout. I made sure it's Mozilla FireFox friendly this time. I... love love love love love my new layout. Why? Because it makes me look sophisticated. Teehee. And who can resist the lovely bed on a beach? =] As always, I incorporated flowers in there. And I did a pretty damn good job of it, if I do say so myself.

My Summer. Woohoo. I am pretty damn glad I don't have to wake up and get in trouble for slacking on homework anymore. Well, for the time being. Summer was pretty eventful in the beginning. Up til last week I had spent every fews with Annie. My goodness. We went swimming (btw, I still don't know how to swim. but at least I got a new swimming suit!), we held picnics and bbqs, and we just went crazy with fun. But now things are slowing down, which is why I had time to make a new layout and update. Oh well, this summer's been pretty nifty so far. Hopefully it stays that way!

Bye Bye Brother. This weekend I'm helping my brother move to Denver, where he'll attend the Art Institute of Colorado. (Switch it around and you'll get Colorado Institute of Art.....C.I.A. get it? =P) It's been years since I went to Colorado since I've missed the other opportunities. I fully plan on visiting the mall and going crazy with shopping. Oh yes. Can someone say Shopper's Orgasm? Hehehehehehe. Anywho, my brother's growing up! He's finally moving out. This is sad. Extremely sad. We only started getting closer his junior or senior year of high school. I'll miss him. I think I'll cry when we have to drive back to Wichita without him. Oh well. Anything happens, he's only 8 hours away right?

My Love Life. So the 17th of June marked my 4 month anniversary with Paul. He forgot. I made him suffer. It was a good deal. Sure there are some problems here and there, but all relationships have problems. I know everything will be fine once school comes back around.

My Friends. I haven't seen TERESA in the longest time. AHHHH! And now it's Annie too! AHHHH!! Ok so I'm gonna have to fix this problem soon. Maybe once I get back from Denver. Me and Clayton fully plan on visiting KU together and holding our House and Movie marathons. Fo' Sho!

My Health. I'm not sick anymore. Yay me! I'm getting new glasses in a few days. Finally. I've had my old ones for 2 years now. Umm I now weigh 115. Hopefully that's because I'm bloated. Soon I'll have a membership at the Y and i can go burn off my fat there.

Cars. I wrecked my mom's car.. again. This time it was definitely noticeable. But I wouldn't exactly say it was a "wreck". More like a "bump"... on steroids. I kinda sorta ran into one of those mini yellow poles at the QT when I was about to fill gas. That messed up my bumper so that when I turned left, my right wheel would scrape against my bumper. Nasty, nasty sound I tell you. Welp, it's all fixed now. $400 in one morning. I think that's pretty good, but then again, I don't know anything about cars. Oh, and I've gotten pulled over twice now. Once for a speeding ticket. The other time was for running a red light, which was bull. The cop pulled me over because the light turned red right when the second half of my car was going through the light. At least she only gave me a warning and not a ticket. My mom would absolutely kill me.

This post is long enough now. I think I'll stop. Who knows, I might update in a few days. Depending on how bored I am. Who still uses Xanga by the way?
