Send Stephen Speaks polyphonic ringtone to your cell phone

All my life I've been reaching toward something
Believing these hands could get me through
As my heart collects dust upon the shelves of my life
My hands are busy working up to you
And it seems that this goes on forever
One more rung on a ladder ten miles high
And as I sweat working one hand or the other every day
I look up, see the distance, start to cry

"So I'm doubting Thomas and what can I do
When my sand castles don't get me closer to you
(And the waves) wash away what I thought was the truth
In my hands, I have to open up my heart."

My arms worn out from punching the air
As if I'm fighting with opponents never there
Yet I know deep inside that this fight is with my soul
Stop spitting in the wind and let the father take control

My hands are tied I'm drowning
My hands are tied what can I do
My hands are tied I'm drowning without you

THINGS that make my Heart smile:

Whoopin' it up to the sky! Whoop for '06!!!
Old couples who are still completely in love......
Little bitty boys and girls who flirt with each other
Chocolate ice cream from Swensen's and/or Marble Slab
When everyone in Kyle Field locks arms and does the War Hymn
Hearing the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band start off 'Hullabaloo CaneckCaneck!
Puppies........ :)
My family......who I miss :(
When you've done something nice and the person smiles and says thank-you....
Summer in Texas (despite the havoc the humidity reeks? on my hair)
The bells ringing in Albritton Tower
Howdy!
That each day is brand new and God's mercies are new with it. (Lam.)
Well, that's about all for now.......oh, one more thing.......when I got up I reverted back to my Bible School days...you know when they still did it in the morning? So, VBS makes my heart smile too!

"Thank YOU for the music. The songs I'm singing. Thanks for all the joy they're bringing. Who can live without it? I ask in all honesty, what would life be? Without a song or dance what are we?"   ABBA

Ok, there is nothing awesomely amazing about this xanga...like all of mine are :) ha! All I have to say is how much I love music. ANd how grateful I am to God for giving us music. Have y'all ever noticed how embedded music is into not just our culture, but our very being and nature? Every civilization has had music. I believe it's because God chose to make us that way. Some of the best times are when you're by yourself and just singing to the Lord. (no matter how good, or bad you may be :) I personally relish the times I am alone and can sing and dance around my room to everything from "stop in the name of love" to the latest Gwen Stefani.. Don't deny it, I know some of y'all do it too! Don't be ashamed! God MADE us to sing and dance! So do it.....even if it's just when it's you and Him. Although, it's lots of fun w/ a group as well.....aka...SONGFEST!!! There's just something almost....magical? wonderful? indescribable....(that's it) about letting your body and voice go and lift above the ceiling (ok, i know it sounds cheesy, but 'tis true) It's very freeing in a way. Maybe, again, because we were MAde to do it? Sometimes dancing/singing can just describe how you're feeling when words so often can fail. Why else do we have songs at weddings/funerals/graduations? Anyway, "It is for freedom that Christ has set you free!" So, let's embrace the freedom we've been given in all aspects of our life. But my challenge for everyone who might read this is this.......take a litle bit of a chance....sing at the top of your lungs in your car next time youre alone...and DON'T STOP when you come to a red light and there are people next to you! Keep on singing outloud! :)

"The life you've been livin', the days you've been givin'....were made for something BEAUTIFUL! Life...don't let it pass you by...because You were created for...something beautiful!"

howdy everyone.....

Well, the semester has drawn to a close without opening the summer yet. We're in that moment between the end of a part of our lives and the beginning of another. Yes, it's just summer...you might say...but a lot can happen in a summer. Think about it...even if you're like me and just working one or maybe two jobs, or taking summer school, a lot could still happen. I could learn to relax....to give my massive anxiety over to Jesus. If I could do that, this summer would be amazing.

Summer is kind of sad, I think. Well, not sad, but bittersweet. I remember the days of elementary school. Where I would wake up so early and run outside and start playing....not a single care in the world. We would play in the mud, ride our bicycles, collect the seeds from the fully in bloom mimosa tree in the front yard, and play with friends. What's sad is I don't want to play in the mud....that purple bicycle is long gone...most of those friends I've lost touch with, and that beautiful stubbornly rooted mimosa tree w/ my little treehouse has been cut down for years now. I miss it. I know it's just a tree....but I spent my childhood playing in that tree, and it seems to me that when it was cut down, so was little girl Adrienne. Sometimes I miss little girl me. (little tear here.....) I was spontaneous and had huge dreams...and would lay in the wildflowers in my side yard and look up at the sky and wonder just how big my God was.....I think I have come a long way in a lot of ways. Most of them good changes....but maybe we could learn something from our little kid past. Embrace our days like we don't have a care in the world. All we know is that we're such a little part of this great big beautiful creation and that the God who created it created us too. I wish I could wake up to each day like I did then. Wake up to the new day, and this time to my life.

"Awaken my heart, awaken my soul, awaken Your power and take control. Awaken the passion to live for YOU."-- Natalie Grant

oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A&M Baseball was tonight....in a word....amazing!! We won 8-7, bottom of the tenth, w/ two outs.....oh heck yes!!!!!!

Well, that's about all I have to say for now....OH, we have baby robins in our hanging geranium on our balcony!! It's amazing!! I know it's something so small....but it makes me ecstatic to see something like that. I think it just reminds me of how intricate the details of life are and how unique all of God's creation is.
