| SUMMER TIME! I really haven't been doing much even though summer is here. There are a few things coming up in July/August though. 3 lacrosse trips (2 in the dirty jerz and 1 in Maryland) and a FL beach trip. Things are still not final with the FL beach trip. I still don't know how I'm getting down there, so that's the main problem. I think the timing of the trip...I'm moving yet again! My roommate and I decided that it's time to move. His friend wants him to move in and I want to move out because our landlady is crazy! (more about this later) And Rhonda's stepmom's friend is moving out of her apartment so I potentially could move into her apartment. Nothing is set though. She's coming back to NYC on the 14th so I'm hoping that I can see the apartment next weekend so I will know if I'm moving there or I should keep looking. Current Landlady I think she's only crazy because she keeps yelling at me! (for not closing the window)...why is she only yelling at me? Doesn't she know someone else also lives in the apartment? Background Our apartment doesn't have AC and Ian likes to keep the windows open, which is great because it keeps the air inside "fresh". When it rains we just have to close the windows so water doesn't get in, but we are not home very much (usually working), so sometimes our landlady will come in our apartment and close the windows for us, which is really nice.
In June, after I came back from Maine, it was pouring and as I was walking up the stairs to go to my apartment, she comes out and started to yell at me about closing the windows. I told her nicely that I have been out of town so I wasn't able to close the windows. And then she was mad and went back into her apartment. That incident pissed me off a bit, especially since (going to another side story) they come into our apartment all the time, unannounced! Which really pisses me off. Things will be moved in our bathroom/kitchen...WTF? In the winter they (it's a family of 4, old mom and dad and 2 kids in their 30's all live in the building) came in to mess with the thermostat cuz heat wasn't working (yea I froze!!!!)...unannounced. But that time they told me that they would have to come in again to put batteries in the unit for it to work, which is fine with me, just get the thing working so I'm not freezing. Once it was working, I would turn the temp up (they default it at 68) cuz I get cold easily. And even then I don't think it made a difference, I would still be wearing sweats and socks inside my apartment. And once I came home there was tape over the thermostat with "DO NOT TOUCH" written on the tape. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I hate how they keep coming into our apartment unannounced. OK back to the window story. So after that, I told Ian what happened and he told me she's never said that to him. So I don't know why she's targeting me. Is it because I actually pay rent on time and I'm more responsible than Ian? I have no idea. So Ian told me to brush it off and not worry about it. So I did...slowly. But 2 Sundays ago, I was being lazy, hanging out at home by myself. It rained, so I closed the windows then went back to my room. I heard the doorbell ring, so I went to the door and the landlady already had the door unlocked and was about to walk in. And I went to the door and asked her what she wanted. She told me that she was up here to close the windows, so I said I closed all the windows already. As I said before, if I am home, I will close the windows. Then she started to say I give you the place to live not to destroy and how I never close the windows. So I said it calmly again that all the windows are closed. If I am home, I will close the windows. And I forgot what else she said but I just closed the door and she left. That really made me mad because she didn't even wait for someone to answer the door, she just assumed we weren't home and came in our apartment!
Anyway, I hope Rhonda's stepmom's friend's place work out because I really want to live alone again. I don't want to deal with roommates opening windows and me getting yelled at by the landlady or cleaning up after the roommate. It's been good living with Ian but he is one hairy dude. I have to vacuum the apartment so much because he leaves a lot of body hairs around and it totally grosses me out. Plus the smoking is annoying. I hate waking up in the morning and the hallway smells like stale smoke because he's been smoking all night in his room. If I don't get to live alone, I don't know what I'll do with the roommate situatioin. Maybe a mixture of guys and girls? Or just inspect my potential roommate's amount of body hair when I meet them? only if there's a way to measure or know for sure the cleaniness level of your potential roommate, that would be money! So I moved team and also moved office. Now I am all the way downtown, right next to the bull.

It's across the street to the left. It's so far away. It's not as nice and new as 50 Rock but has just as many tourists. Everyone loves to pose next to the bull (see photo above...hehehe). It takes me 45 mins to get to work versus 30, so that kind of sucks. But one plus side is that my friend John works and lives down here so I get to hang out with him more now. On Monday we had lunch on the roof deck of his apartment. We had dumplings (I cooked!! hahaha) and leftover stuff from his girlfriend. After lunch we went back to his apartment for dessert (Pocky and chocolate covered almonds). Then we walked back to work, and only 1 hour away from the office, how great is that?? It's also good to work down here because I always get lost so if I work down here I will have to learn all the streets, so that's a good thing to know. That's it for now. I will update once I find out the living situation and other stuff in my life
| IS IT JUNE ALREADY? I can't believe it's June, almost JULY!! Time has passed by so quickly! Well, some good news...I suppose. My UST project ended and I hopped on a different project. I'm doing basically the same thing but different project, team so things are fine and dandy. For a while I thought I was going to be out of a job but now it's ok. I went to Maine last week. Hung out with David & his family. Ate lobster and clam rolls. Yum! Got a little sun. Relaxed a bit before starting the new role. It was definitely good to get away from NYC. It was so laid back there, everyone was on holiday there. I saw W's house in Maine (see below). I didn't have my camera with me when we went to see W's place, so I took it with my BB.
Sunday I hung out with my familiy for father's day. Even though I couldn't be around my dad, I was still around family, which made it better. Afterwards we play mah jong, I won!! Not by much but still won. Woohoo! Pretty good for a novice player. I will try to update more often.
