What kind of username is that you asked? Good question. From a pure and simple practical standpoint every name I kept plugging in was gone. I wanted something simple because I am not too clever or creative with these kinds of things. Then I thought what about a deep passion that I would want to be associated with (other than just being a child of the King!) which would be my family. So I thought how about "blessed archer" based on Psalm 127 (and I am an archer and own a bow). Then I noticed QuiverFiller from my church already had sort of used the same idea.

So, as I am studying Isaiah and currently the Servant Songs. This idea of the distant coastlands : ~yYIïai (beaches, my translation, but literally distant coastlands, islands) waiting for the Gospel is all over the place:

Isaiah 42:4 He will not grow faint or be discouraged1 till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.   42:10:Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants.

Isaiah 49:1 Listen to me, O coastlands, and give attention, you peoples from afar. The LORD called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name.

Isaiah 51:5 My righteousness draws near, my salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands hope for me, and for my arm they wait.

Isaiah 40:15 Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales; behold, he takes up the coastlands like fine dust.

And it is just as glorious outside of Isaiah:

Psalm 97:1 The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad!

Its meaning becomes more beautiful & clear when Matthew interprets’ Isaiah 42:

Matthew 12:17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: 18 "Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles. 19 He will not quarrel or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets; 20 a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not quench, until he brings justice to victory; 21 and in his name the Gentiles will hope.

So my calling is to know this Gentile hope all the more in my own life by His grace. And to make this hope known! When you think of it for a geographical standpoint it is incredible because we (that being the American church) have received this hope! So let us take it to the beaches!

I’ve never been a blogger, webmaster or anything of the like but when I saw all my brothers & sisters at IBC joining I couldn’t resist.

So feel free to give me your thoughts on the name and if I should I have gone with “blessed archer.”
