why soda is good for you

It is common knowlege that if you put a penny in a soda container that it will disolve within a few days. see we as teenagers dont eat the best. If we were to only drink water, the water would just slid off the greasy food that we eat. However the soda would eat the greasy food inside us.....and the inside of our stomach, but we dont talk about that.

We beat Desert Hills 51 to 46!!! 'Twas an exciting game, with EVAC holding a narrow lead most of the game over a team that crushed us by 36 points early in December! Ah, how sweet unexpected triumph can be! It was a game that had adrenaline pumping through the entire crowd. Adrenaline can get some people through almost anything . . .

I think I must be the only person, who not only is excited about going back to school on Tuesday, but has been longing for it for the last 2 weeks! Although this may be difficult for most of you to believe, I love structure. It keeps me out of more trouble than I already get into myself. Yes I know I worked over the summer, but that had almost no structure. My schedule was always fussy so I had to put off making plans with people, however with school, I know exactly where I am going to be, and how much time I am going to have to spend studding, therefore making plans is easy.

We sadly lost tonights game against Heritage. Our boys put a noble effort foward, it was difficult however due to the fact that our beloved captain, Christipher VanEgmond was not present. With 1.1 seconds to go, the teams were tied, then Josh fouled someone. The player from the other team was going to shoot 2 freethrows. The first shot went up.....no good. The EVAC crowd breaths a sigh of relief. Shot number 2. The game comes down to this shot. Its up...and its good. EVAC loses by one point.

WE WILL GET THEM TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!!!!

May I also mention that we were playing a JV team, and our coach used the opportunity to let the less experienced players play. There were no more than two usual starters on the court at one time, and the other players quite improved their game. The point is, though, that having all our starters there didn't really matter, and the fact that Chris wasn't there and the Bradfords were LATE didn't carry much weight in the end. All in all, it was fun to watch a new set of guys working together on the court. But I was still ready to strangle Josh . . .

To Rescue

For a few days now i have wanted to post about the theme that my pastor was teaching on during the advent season.

To rescue. That was the purpose of Christmas. And not just to rescue those areas of our lives that we find so easy to give to God, but all of us. My pastor used 'Myspace' as an analogy. We all have our own little corner of the web. We have an outlet that is ours, its like a corner of our lives that we don't want to give up. Now he wasn't saying, nor am i saying that Myspace or Xanga or Facebook or whatever else there is, are bad things, but we have to admit we are all to some degree addicted to some degree. anyway that is beside the point. But we all have those areas in our lives that we don't want to give up, those areas in our lives that we just say, 'ok God you can have everything.....except this one thing.' But God came to rescue us from those areas. Christmas acknowledges the fact that Jesus was born an innocent baby, completely depended on those around him. That he lived a life just like ours, he felt and experienced pain just like we do. The difference is he did it without sin. And he died so that we might live in him, all of us. He not only wants those areas of our lives he has every right to them, but he won't take them unless we give it to him. And that is our job, to give 'Ourspace' to him.
