  • I just got back from the gym... yep, right smack dab in the middle of the day. I'm trying to use my lunch hour at least 3 times a week to get in about 45 minutes of cardio. It's working out pretty good.

But..... I'm still tired. I was tired all day yesterday and ended up taking a nap after work. Chris woke me up when he got home around 6 so we could work out. Being stiff and tired is not a good combo, but I got through it. And it helped me to have enough energy to clean up my train wreck of a house. :) Just have floors to do tonight, and then I will have some scrappy time... or work on Willow's birthday time. :)

And two brand new magazines will sit untouched for another day. :)

  • Burnt and Sleepy, but it was so worth it!!

Friday night, I get home, and I'm getting ready because we're headed to Chris's parent's house when he gets home. Only to find out, he had made plans with his boss and his wife. So we ended up going over for a cookout, but played Rockband with them instead. It was a blast hanging out!! His wife played bar tender and he made this killer queso that seriously burned my mouth! We still went to his parent's house, but we got there about 1:30 or so instead. :)

Saturday, we got up at 6 am to hit the Meeker City Wide Yard Sale. It was fun! Chris landed a 14 ft trampoline for just $10. I got a practically brand new booster seat for Benny for $1 and it had 66 cents in it. So, I made some of my money back. I also scored some awesome candle holders for the living room. It's fun because we picked them out together. Then we headed to my parent's house to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom. We made her favorite foods and just visited. Benny and Willow and I had a secret project going on in the back. I was trying to explain what Mother's Day was, and he was like, "I get it! The boys give all the girls presents! And then the next time, all of the boys get presents!" He loves presents, so he's pretty excited about that.

Sunday, Chris made up a yummy waffle breakfast with all kinds of goodies! Then it was time for hiking, presents, and then a cookout. Even I got Mother's Day presents! Chris's parents got me a couple books for wedding crafts and on the card, his mom wrote, "Maybe Chris will get the hint." Hahah! It was funny. Then we went to his aunt and uncles house for a cookout!

  • What an exciting night!!

Ok, so, I'm on my way home from work like normal. And it's been rainy all day, so I went to the Red Box to rent a movie. They didn't have the one I was looking for (P.S. I Love You). So I'm headed back down May towards my house, when on the radio that western OK county was under a tornado warning. I live in western OK county. And then the sirens went off. I live on the second story, so I went to pull into Best Buy, and then opt to go to Target because they have better things to look at. So, I continue down May to Target. And the rain gets so bad that you can't see, so NO ONE is moving! I look up to see a ginormous cloud above my head, and yes, it's swirling. Ok, stay calm! Finally, I get a chance to weave around the stopped traffic and pull into Target. I take the first parking spot I see. I go to open my door, and the wind was so strong, I barely squeezed out! It was coming down so hard and fast, not to mention the parking lot was flooded. So I'm running in, as are about 2 or 3 other people. As I was running in, my pants fell below my butt! I just kept going. By the time I got into the store, I was completely soaked! I was greeted by the store manager who was new to Oklahoma. And me and this other guy that ran in explained the difference between a 'watch' and a 'warning'. And then we pointed out the massive cloud of circulation right above our head.

I was able to stay calm, until I couldn't get a phone call out, because the lines were jammed. When I finally got ahold of Chris, he was driving home. He stopped at Target and waited out the tornado with me.

It never dropped, and I'm so thankful! The wind did gust to 120 miles and hour... and I did have to clean up the water than blew in from my chimney, but everything is OK.

  • So, for the last two days, I've been working on my future MIL's mother's day present. She has been hinting since Christmas that she would like all of her favorite recipes typed and put in clear page protectors. So, this last weekend, when we visited, I finally got the chance to swipe the sacred book without her knowing. So I have spent probably 8 hours since then typing away. I'm up to 91 pages! I'm probably 3/4 of the way through. I'm hoping to finish up tomorrow. I was shooting for tonight, but seriously, if I look at another recipe, I might vomit. :)

As soon as I finish hers, I will get to work on my mom's. Her gift will be easier. I'm taking photos from her the office renovation project and making her a huge 13 x 19 inch photo to hang in her office. In the center, I'm thinking about putting the verse, "Two are better than one..." found in Ecclessiastes.

As for work, everyone seems to have mellowed out finally from last week's drama. Which is a good thing, I was seriously considering putting in my resignation. I've been getting into the office just after 7 to ensure a lunch time workout. That's right folks, for the last 2 days, I've done 45 - 50 minutes of cardio. Chris and I are doing weights at night, and he's not a big fan of cardio, so it works out great for me. I know I won't always get in a lunch time workout, and I'm not going to beat myself up about it. But as long as I do have the chance, and there's a place to go, there's no sense in not taking advantage of it.

  • Sunday, we made the rounds to visit the fams... A good time had by all.

Today, a super busy day at work, plus I'm trying to get Mother's Day gifts under way... as well as finish a Wedding video for a lady. I felt bad for her because the photographer she paid tons of money to for her daughter's wedding, totally botched the job.

Worked out at lunch, did my cardio. Then tonight, Chris and I did weights. Now I'm off to do my normal Monday night cleaning routine, and then I'm working on Mother's Day gifts!!
