Hi Xanga world, as you can see, I'm not good at posting here anymore. It's been forever. It says I've been a member for 932 days. That's an awful long time, and I have been neglecting my xanga.

Just that some people were reading it and I felt restricted to write things that I wanted to write in here.

Anyways, I might start another one up, so I'll come by and visit some of my old subscriptions and drop a line, I'm sure that they didn't neglect xanga as much as I have, bad me.

Well, I'm now in Montreal, Quebec. It was the longest drive I ever made. We had the worst weather possible. Left Calgary in 8 cm of snow to pass through Saskatchewan and Manitoba in pouring rain and when we got to Ontario... nothing but rain too. I guess it's a result of the hurricane that hit the states and Toronto. Sent all the bad weather up north to where we were driving. The trucks that kept whipping past us didn't help much either.

My cat was absolutely amazingly good on the trip, once we got past Medicine Hat, we let her out of the cage as she was fussing, and let her sit on the floor of the front passenger side. She was on a leash and didn't even mind that. Those of you who know or have heard about my cat would understand what I mean by her being so great. She spent the rest of the 4 day drive on the floor, getting out for a stretch at every gas station and at night in the motels, she ate and drank. Not a single accident or problem with her the whole time.

So I've been in Montreal for a week now, I've set up the place except for the bedroom. Got all my kitchen done, looking good with my sunflower theme, and the living area and bathroom look all tidy and sorted out. Now, I just gotta work on the bedroom.

It'll be nice once we get a bed and we're not sleeping on the floor. It gets a little hard after a while, yet it's still more comfortable than our old king size bed was.

Haven't done much for exploring yet, as I've been busy trying to find a space for everything. So far, I've found Wal Mart!!! We're right across from Rockland Mall, which is a big mall. Took a drive the other night, found this huge cathedral, called Saint Joseph, one set of stairs are reserved for people who walk up them on their knees. There's a lot of steps. I'll post pics as often as I can. I'm going to be taking a lot of pics of places I go. And now that I'm back with my scanner, I can post as freely as I like

Hey out there. I've been so busy working and trying to save money lately for my big move that I have once again neglected my xanga duties. When I did have time to post, Xanga was down for a few days.

I've been busy making arrangements for my big move. I'm so excited. I can't wait to explore Montreal. I'm moving probably around the 17th of the September. Have to get a hitch attached to my car and then I'll be towing a U Haul trailer across Canada. All that I keep thinking about is that Mickey Mouse cartoon where they are towing the trailer and it comes unhitched and travels it's own journey. That better not happen to me.

So, I have a few more weeks of work then I'm going to be jobless for a few weeks while I look for a job that they don't need someone bilingual. As long as I have enough cash to pay my car, my loan and insurance, I'll be ok. I've been saving up so I should have enough until I get working. Plus I will qualify for Employment Insurance as I have to quit my job to move there as my BF moved there for work. So, that will help out for a while. I think I might try some temp work when I get there. Then I can find something that might interest me. I don't want to have to cut hair there, and besides, I'll have to take my license exam again as mine is only good in BC.

I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff that I don't need anymore. It's going to be hard starting over again but it'll be nice too because we can start saving for nice stuff instead of buying cheap stuff that breaks. Right now though, we don't even have a bed or a couch so it'll be oh so fun at first. Going to give up all luxuries except internet, which is what my BF and I spend the majority of our free time on.

We'll go out and explore new things instead of watching TV (Except Survivor of course)

Well, I have to get ready for work again I work till 9:30pm tonight. So, I'm sure it'll be tons of fun getting a lot of 411 calls from all the drunks across Canada.

Where does the time go? I can't believe it's already friday. I got the rest of my birthday gifts on Wednesday. My dad bought me a really cool pewter bracelet back from England. My sister gave me some money. I had my mum's gifts to open on my birthday She put this paper butterfly in my car that flew out and hit me in the face when I opened it. Scared the shit out of me. I think she got a good laugh watching me open my gifts on web cam. She bought me some beautiful stuff.

My BF has got a job offer that sounds like it's going to really be a good job for him. I'm planning to move to Montreal in mid september. I'm getting so excited. I think I'm going to love the change again. I like that kind of change. New scenery, new things to explore..... More stuff I need to scrapbook.

I should work on my scrapbook a bit today. I have the day off.... YAHOOOO!!! I work at 5:15am tomorrow though.

Anyways, I'm off for a while, going to go watch a movie I think.

My birthday was fun. Went for lunch at the Dutch Pannekoek House. I love it there, crepes the size of a huge round plate, filled with apples, cinnamon and raisins... mmmmm. I then went to see the movie The Pirates of the Caribbean. OMG, it was awesome. I just love those types of movies, and it had Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in it, can it get much better?They are both such great actors.

I got some nice presents for my birthday so far and I have more to come when they get here from Vancouver. I can't wait.

I wish I didn't have to work today because it's a late shift but good thing is I have tomorrow off so it'll be ok.

My bf has an interview with a really good company tomorrow. Everyone wish him luck, he really needs the job and then I'll be moving to Montreal. I'm getting excited about moving there. I'm aiming for Mid September.

Anyways, gotta go get ready for work.. blah. Talk at ya laters.

It's my birthday tomorrow and it wasn't till just now that I feel all blah about it.

I'm going to have lunch with my friend and then see Pirates of the Caribbean.

Just realizing that it's my birthday and there's only one person who is here to celebrate with me is just kinda depressing. Can't imagine how crappy I'd feel if she wasn't here. I know we'll have fun. It's just that I have no family here, my bf is in montreal, and my other few friends are out of town. Makes me realize how little I have here in Calgary.

If it wasn't for my one friend that's here, I'd probably go insane. She's a good friend to me.

Ya, ya, I know, I didn't blog since sunday.... I've been busy... Really I have.

It was 8:59am, just about to go on my first 15 mins break. Suddenly there's a fast fire alarm ringing. I have to log off and walk down 11 floors, 4 sets of stairs per floor. We all had to meet at the Petro Canada Building. Stood outside for 45 mins before we got to go back inside. It was really cool having the time off the phones.

Then I worked from 3-9 at the shop. It was busy there tonight. 7am - 9pm is a long day. I'm glad it's over.

Hopefully I'll make it round for a visit tomorrow.

Getting my haircolored in the morning so I better head to bed.

Oh My God!!!! There are some seriously WACKED OUT people out there in the world.... Is it a full MOON tonight???

This lady (who I kept calling sir because she had such a deep voice) kept calling today and asking for the police in Jamaica. She was seriously distraught, and at first you thought everything was genuine. {It very well still could be} The situation was something like this:

She had an accident over a month ago, and was taken somewhere in Toronto to be treated. She had amnesia and a bunch of other problems. Her husband who is Jamaican but also Canadian, has been missing for a month and she's really worried. He's been hanging around this man name Coalie (who is a nice man, honest man, she likes him) and she has all of her husbands money and belongings. She really cares for him and they've been together for 18 years. Ok, so far, I'm worried and she's hysterical. Very distraught and it's really hard to understand her. I call Jamaica, get 2 numbers to the police in Negrill. Give them to her, she's been calling no answer. She calls back, gets Operator Rachel. Rachel is saying calm down mamn, blah blah.... gives her 2 more numbers for the police in Jamaica. She calls back, gets Operator Cathryn (me) again. I'm like wtf now??? I give her 2 more numbers and this time I dial them for her. After telling her I can't do anything for her if she doesn't calm down so I can understand her. She tells me I'm so nice and that she's grateful I'm helping her. So, I say, I'm going to put her on hold and she can take deep breaths until I get back. (At this point I'm still calling her sir and Rachel's saying it's a woman) So, I finally get ahold of the police in Jamaica, connect the two and listen in because this woman, is so loud and aggitated that she doesn't listen to you she keeps talking. (Don't get me wrong here, she's very nice, very appreciative of your help, keeps complimenting me and thanking me, I'm not pissed off or mad, but I am frustrated) I get the cop and her on the line, and she goes off blah blah blah, tells her whole life story, so fast you couldn't absorb the first sentence but she doesn't stop talking. The cop is saying, Mamn? Hello? I finally had enough and said Francese (that's what her name was, I still thought it was a man until she said her husbands missing) so, I say, FRANCESE, FRANCESE, You need to stop talking and listen to the policeman. The policeman is trying to ask you something. She's all, Oh sorry, explains some more then finally stops talking. I'm on this call for about 10 mins, {Shoots my stats through the roof...arggghhh} anyways, I finally get them both off the line. AHHHHHHH........ Next call....Ding, yes my voicemail isn't working blah blah (same voice so I ask for the name...what do you know..Francese) I say, You need to talk to Customer Care for that and transfer her....Phew....THINK IT'S OVER YET??? YOU'RE WRONG..... Ding.... Hi, I've been trying to call Jamaica police....(add life story here).... I say Francese, it's me Cathryn again, what did I say about remaining calm? Oh ya, she says. I give her the number to the police again. She gets it all wrong, I give up and call them back....Connect them and off I go to answer other calls. Yeah, it's my break.... gotta get better after my break..NOT!!!... Ding...It's Francese again, needing the police again. I give her the number that works so she can talk to the same cop who was going to try to find some information for her. I give her the number not once...not twice...not 4 times...but 15 times. I tell her, go get another piece of paper (puts phone down, hear footsteps, hear rustling of paper, at least she listens) she gets paper and I make her repeat it. I say write this number down 1 number at a time and tell me what you are writing....1-8 7 6 - 9 5 7 - 4 2 6 8 (I know it by heart by this time) she does. I say now tell me what you wrote down... 8-1876-975-82468 ....ahhhhhhhhhh.... Then she tells me it must be the dislexia. OMG, I'm gonna lose my mind! So, I finally connect her again... Whew I'm off work. I post the correct number on the whiteboard for the other operators and inform them of the situation. They are all not as patient as me. I leave, get to my car, damn forgot something upstairs. I get up there and Operator Nancy is like, Cathryn, she's asking for you. I'm like nooooooooooo, I'm off!!!! I inform Operator Nancy about everything, turns out another operator has had this lady a few times too, asking for banks in England and other numbers, and the Jamaican Police. Imagine her phone bill??? I'm not sure the cost but it's not cheap to get us to call another country to ask for Directory Assistance. Could be 7.95 per call. One operator said she told her that her shrink would be there soon. I grab my stuff and run as fast as I can for the door. THANK GOD...The day is over.

This wasn't the only weird call we had. This one man kept phoning and yelling that we didn't cut of his service yet and he's not paying his bills, calls us all bitches and assholes and a bunch of others and hangs up on us. I report him to the in charge, he'll get reported and then getting telephone service will be difficult if he ever wants it again from the company.

That's my morning in a nutshell, it's only 2pm now and I'm not planning on going anywhere. Scared of running into some more Wacked Out people.

Now, I'm home for the day, no headset, no phone, just me and my computer.

Going to go have a sip and bitch with my roomie and relax, maybe I'll add more later and surf round my SIR list.

Ok, so I hate cutting hair. I'm only doing it for the money and to help out my friend with the computer and getting rid of bad staff. Not to bad for tips but still, I just don't enjoy it. And now, I have no power. It was better managing because I could do what I want. I mean, not that I can't now, but you know, I just can't leave when I please like before, or do what I want and sum it all up under admin hours. Plus, I get paid way less now (which was part of the reason I quit). The good thing is, that I don't need this job, I'm just doing it for extra cash to pay bills and for when I move to Montreal.

I work at 5am tomorrow morning and same with Monday. I like the early shifts because I get off work early but it's so hard for me to get up that early. I find that I'm tired all the time. Tomorrow won't be so bad because I can drive down and park for free but Monday, I'll be on the train by 4:30am. ICKY!

No weird phone calls today at work, made for a pretty dull morning. Ahhh well, can't complain, most people that phone directory assistance are just stupid anyways. They don't know what name they are looking for, or they expect that I know how to spell their friends last name (Schleimnheimer). I mean come on, since when am I a fricken dictionary, and if they are your friends shouldn't you know how to spell their name? They never know where they live or where they're calling..... ahhhhhhhhh!

Pays money to do that job, that's all it has going for it.

Gotta get going, got conversations to have on MSN before I head to bed

Well..... Here I am again. This is unbelievable. I've actually made it to everyone's sites and cleaned house with my subs. I went through them all and deleted my subscriptions to anyone who hasn't posted this year.

I really miss my Subscription Browser. That was so much easier to surf to everyones site. I kinda miss my premium too but this is good for now. Don't need to spend the cash on something I haven't been using that much.

Work was fine today. Got hit on twice by people over the phone. One guy actually asked me if I was as good looking as my voice sounded. I said, Of course, It's not like I would say I'm ugly now, would I?

Another guy, started talking to me about why I like Calgary and not Vancouver and fishing and horseback riding. Told me that he was in a grumpy mood till he talked to me and that I made his day. Then preceded to give me his number (which I already had on the screen) and told me to call him.

YA RIGHT!!!! Like I'm going to call weirdo's who try to pick up Operators!!!

I'm going to be starting back at the hair salon again. Pfffft!!! I need the extra cash and it's a convenient place to work where I know they will work around my schedule. Maybe work there 2 shifts a week. I need the extra money, one job ain't gonna cut it and help my spending habit.

Well, don't know what else to say here. Gotta get going. I'll be back.
