Did everyone have a nice Christmas?!!

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

Hello everyone!! Well, I am back from Africa as you know by now. It was an amazing experience. I had such a good time and now I am missing all of my friends that I spent a month with. So now I will give you an update of what went on in Africa.

God did some amazing things in Africa. The blind were healed, the lame were healed, the deaf were healed, and people were healed of sicknesses that were in their body (like heart problems)! Isn't God amazing!?! One day my ministry team ( a group of 5 of us) prayed for this one woman who was 10 months pregnant. She was really worried that her baby would not be healthy if she didn't have the baby soon. Well, we prayed for her, and the next day she had her baby. The baby was a totally healthy baby. The mother wasn't feeling too good but she was okay. The family was so happy that we came and ministered to them and prayed for the woman that they had us name her baby! We named her Hope.

We saw many salvations take place while we were there. God personally used me to lead two people to Christ. When we showed the Jesus Film, there was about 50 people that came up to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Then when we gave the net before we handed out Samaritans Purse boxes, about 330 of 530 children were led to Christ as well. That's awesome! So for all of the countries that Global Expeditions sent students out to, there was a total of 3,299 salvations! Okay, well I have to go, but I will update a little more about what we went through on the trip later. Talk to you later!

So Monday I had a really great time at Six Flags! There was basically no lines! Anyway, I had a lot of fun!

Last night was our graduation practice. I am so excited to graduate! Although I feel like a house in that graduation gown :) haha

It is so nice. This morning, I went to the gym at 6:00, came back and did a little bit of cleaning, and now I am free to do whatever I want because I have NO SCHOOL WORK!! wahoo!

Also, I leave for Africa in 4 days! Wow, it has been coming up so fast. I will only be away for a month though. Okay, well, I guess that is all that I have to say for now. Have a great day!

Okay, on Jen's request, I am going to post. :)

I was thinking the other day about the word surrender. Do we truly fulfill the word surrender when it comes to the relationship between God and us? We might say a lot, "God, we give you control. We surrender to you." Surrender is a very powerful word. In the dictionary, the word surrender means, "To yield. To yield to the power, control, or possession of another....To Give oneself up into the power of another...." If Christians around the world would actually YIELD to the power of God, or if they would GIVE UP their thoughts, actions, emotions, and everything that they have, we would be true and better servants of God. We are absolutely nothing on our own. When an army surrenders, the other side begins to move in and take control of the surrendered. Just like that example, we need to surrender and have God move in and take control. Say, "God, we are Yours. We are not going to resist any more. YOU have full control over us; over our agenda, over our will, over our thoughts, over our actions, over our emotions, over our plans, over our attitude, over our situations; God we give You everything! FULL control!" Until then, I believe we are limiting God. We are limiting what God can do in our lives.

I just find the word surrender SO powerful. Surrendering to the Most High King! Surrendering to the King of Glory! I just want to fall facedown before God when I think about that. He is so awesome!

I love when I meet new people, or get to know friends better, or just spending time with old friends and they inspire you to change or to do something in life. It is great when God places certain people in your life to inspire you. Without them actually telling you anything, but just by watching the person. I was deeply inspired by two people recently. I am not going to mention any names, but I am truly grateful to them for standing firm to what they believe and also reaching out to others. The one person, I have never in my life ever met someone that was so kind to others as they were. I am not exaggerating either. Never in my life have I come across a person like this before. There was never a second that went by that this person was not caring for others or doing anything they could to help another person. This person truly amazed me! I love watching the way people react towards others and this person just had the love of Christ shining through them.

The other person was just an inspiration to me because of a certain something that they would do; of what they were disciplined to do every day. It inspired me to do the same. It was not just that, it was many things, but this certain thing inspired me the most from this person. This person also has an incredible love for Christ and for other people, so it was really great to observe things that they did throughout the day. This person amazed me to. I have never been inspired this great by another person before. It really made me take a look at my life and say, "Okay God, You have my attention. I know what you want me to change in my life now." Thank you God for pointing out things to me by putting these people in my life! So just remember that you can inspire people without even knowing it.
