| Yeah, so so far. . .I really have been doing nothing but canoeing and baking. I think I've baked at least a hundred batches of cookies since I got home two weeks ago. Okay, it might have been more like six, but thats still pretty inmpressive. And I've been to the river twice. The river is so beautiful right now. I think it is going to be a pretty increadible safari. I can't wait. I'm so, SO excited about being a team captian. The girls are increadible. I'm actually kind-of glad that God didn't allow me to paddle this year. If I always had the oppertunity to paddle, I don't think I would ever stop, and I would never get the chance to be team captian. I think I must be the most paddling team captian ever. Every time I go to the river, I end up paddling. This weekend I didn't even bring my paddle, becuase I was just planning on practicing team captian stuff, and i still ended up paddling. Which I didn't complain about. = ) I SO love to paddle. but we did also get a lot of good team captaining practice. Kyndall and I drove all up and down the river for three days, and now we feel so much more ready for the safari. It is going to be amazing, and it is only two(or three, depending on how you count) weeks away. = ) Whoop!! Pray for Stephen. I ended up paddling this weekend, because his back was hurting him too much to paddle. He's pulled a muscle or something, and he needs to get better fast. Pray hard. = ) | | |
| HOME AGAIN!!!!I'm HOME. = ) My Freshman year is officially over, and I am now a sophomore. = ) Whoop!!(I'm still not offically allowed to say whoop, but it's good bull now, so I say it all the time. = ) ) The school year was pretty good. I kind-of can't believe that it's over already, but I'm pretty glad to be home. I plan to spend the whole summer playing and cooking and PADDLING!!! = ) It is going to be fantastic. Ummm. . . Unfortunately I don't really have anything to say. so. . . yeah, I home and that's about it. I saw Ruthie's play this afternoon, and it was fantastic. Unfortunatly if you haven't seen it you really arn't going to get to, because it's over. = ( But it was pretty much amazing. And halarious, and I'm so glad i didn't miss it. = ) O.K. that is probably enough nothing for now, maybe I'll have something interesting to put up soon. = ) | | |
| So I don't really have anything in particular to write about, but it is time for a new post, so I'm gonna put up some pictures and stuff. = )
So as I have said, I've really been enjoying dancing at school. This picture was taken at a dance during which the fire alarms went off, and we all had to leave the dance. So we just went out into the parking-lot and kept dancing. It think it was the most fun dance I've been to yet. = )
With some friends at the Intervarsity Retreat. = )
With more friends at a girls night. = ) Mary and I made chocolate covered coffee beans. I think it is amazing how cute Mary looks covered with chocolate. = )
this picture is kind-of fuzy, but I like it, and it is our shack, and shack was one of my favorite parts of this year. I have many favorite parts, but Shack definitely makes the list. = ) | | |
| So, one of the most fun things about second semester as a freshmen is that you finally know something about being a college student, but you still are clueless enough to get a kick out of the little you know. The other day I was walking briskly across campus, going from Engineering to Kinesiology, and as I walked along through the cool, clear and slightly sharpened air(we had a little baby cool front, and it hasn't felt like april at all) I spotted, meandering before me, a father, a mother and a boy in his late teens. The mother was observing the campus with a calculating air, and occasionally glancing in the direction of her son. The father had his head bent studiously over a map, which he continually turned this way and that. The son walked along, looking awkward, and for the most part ignoring his parents. I passed them at a jaunty pace, letting the spring in my step match the music playing in my ears. Not a block further on, I ran across another family, clearly touring the campus. They studied the telltale, upsidedown map, and towed an slightly awkward looking highschooler and a bored seven-year-old. I couldn't help smiling as I took a sip of my mocha, and adjusted my backpack on my shoulders. I felt so wonderfully college studenty. Of course, getting a kick out of that shows a certain level of immaturity, but I'm o.k. with that. Getting a kick out of stupid little things is one of my greatest talents. = ) | | |
| NO MORE PHYSICS!!! = )So I am a happy person. I took my Physics test today, and now it is OVER!!! = ) Horray!! I wish I could think of something interesting to tell ya'll about, but I, much to my dismay, haven't done a single interesting thing all week. Actually I did go dancing last night, which was fun. Oh, and I watched 'The Fugitive' on sunday night. I'd never seen it before and I really liked it. It's kind of a 'Bourne' style movie, and it was really interesting, and just scary enough. It was pretty halarious movie watching experience, though. Some of ya'll have watched enough movies with me to know that sometimes I get pretty into it, but I haven't watched that many movies with my friends here, and I was really into it. My poor friends kept being like "Hannah, are you o.k? Are you going to be all right???" etc. etc. And of course I was just totally enjoying myself. = ) | | |
