| I was going to start writing about Resolved 2008 and the messages and speakers, but I'm really tired. Instead, I'll write about Romans 13. It's the chapter about civil obedience and such and I came across an interesting quote.
The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning
of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these
nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage
-Alexander Tyler, 1750
I'm thinking the United States is at 6/7 right now. Pretty scary. I'll bet most people didn't know that prior to WW1, the United States was the most prosperous country and we had no income tax. I've been pretty apathetic about politics for a while now, but Romans 13 is showing me that it's time to get back into things and vote!

| Wow, it's been nearly half a year since I last posted. A lot has happened since then. I just wanted to thank everyone who helped out with all the hectic stuff that went on the past two months. I really do appreciate everyone's generosity with their time and prayers.
I've been spending a lot of time at home, but I also drive back and forth to my house to pick up mail, hang out, and to clean up. It's been fun slowly hanging out with people again. =) Please let me know if you're gonna be around this summer. Fun times ahead!
This weekend is Resolved 2008. I've been looking forward to this for a while. I heard it might be the last one too! Driving up to Palm Springs tomorrow in the old beater car, in 100+ degree weather. Let's hope the old Mazda makes it. o_O
