So I've been debating the following
for quite some time. If you had a choice between the two, would you prefer a
woman who is a good cook or a good driver?
(disclaimer) Don't get me
wrong, I have met my share of good female drivers. Confident behind the
wheel...good hand and eye coordination and depth
perception... the "I can fall asleep in the backseat dreaming
of mashed potatoes and sugar plum fairies"
comfort factor.
But this morning, as I was cut off by a soccer mom chatting away
on her cell phone while she swerved her SUV in and out of her lane, it got me thinking. Now it is one thing to
be a "careless" driver, but lately, I've met a handful of young ladies and even a mom that do not know the way of the wheel.
Top Five Reasons for being auto-challenged
1. I don't want to learn nor do I have the
time
2. My husband can do it
3. It's so dangerous
4. I have too much
anxiety
5. It's bad for the
environment
However, my Gtalk
buddy disagrees.
Gtalk buddy: but when ur
working
Gtalk buddy: it's stressful to come home and have to cook
Gtalk
buddy: it's nice and SEXY
Gtalk buddy: when u come home
Gtalk buddy: and
ur woman is wearing an apron
Gtalk buddy: and putting a little something
together for u in the kitchen
My 2
cents
I feel like a woman can always learn out to
cook...that's what food network is for. Plus, cooking together can be an
intimate and fun experience. But teaching an adult how to drive for the first
time is just freaky and life threatening. You only live once.
food poisoning = 3
to 5 days physical pain
car accident = 1 to
16 weeks physical pain + lifetime for emotional pain.
Plus, who wants to be a chauffer
for an extended period of time?? So unless you live in a city with a good
transportation system, I'll trade a Rachel Ray for a Danica Patrick any day.
what would you
choose?
