Random thoughts

Why is it the day you are training someone else how to do what you do is also the day that the one piece of software you need to use decides not to work and you end up doing something you haven't done in 5 years.

I wonder how many external hard drives you can hook up to an imac. Presently I have 4 with a combined total of around 2 TB.

How long does it take to copy 1 TB of information. I'm not sure I haven't tried yet.

I thought it was fascinating reading in I Samuel this morning that When David asked God if he should go to battle he asked the Lord two things.
1. Should I go against the Philistines?
2. Will you deliver them into my hand?

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose....What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"

Praising God

This week I got a report from my parents that two of the three cavities in Dads lungs had healed up. And also Dad was able to work some this last week. We continue to marvel at how God is paying for His bills. And trust Him each step of the way.

This verse was special to me this last week. "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust."

Last WB Printed 6 PGPs to go.

Yesterday WB 54 was printed, 6 PGPs to go.

House is the fullest it has ever been, Also represented by Mexico, Texas, Washington, Minnesota, Arizona, and up until a week ago Canada. Never have I had a group like this who love the Lord and talking about Him. God is so good all the time.

Mr. & Mrs. Garvin had their 50th wedding anniversary this last weekend and then the Heinigers their 53rd on Tuesday.

Last week we found a valve on the plate processor that wasn't working. After replacing it the consistency of dots on the plate have been much better. Although at first it completely threw off what I was accustomed to.

Recently I was reading through Job and God's response to Job at the end of the book "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth...." Talking about creation and the wonders in it and then to see Job's response "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes." We saw a little of God's power in his creation this last Sunday when we had a short 15 minute storm but it blew down several trees and we had rain running down windows on both sides of the house. At church I kept thinking of the song "I Sing the Mighty Power of God." How appropriate considering the last verse which says "...And clouds arise, and tempests blow, By order from Thy throne..."

I managed to abandon two of the guys I brought to church. Both of whom dwell in the same domicile with me. It goes something like this.
1. We go to church.
2. After church we have a potluck dinner.
3. One of the men from church gets a phone call from some people from church that need help with a tire.
4. I quickly told one of the guys I brought to find a ride if I didn't make it back. (in about 10 seconds)
5. Drove out and helped with the tire.
6. Man I drove out needs a ride home.
7. Drive man home don't know how to get to church from there, head home instead assuming everyone got a ride.
8. Arrive home and no Clayton or Daniel.
9. I then precede to do something that 12 years ago I would have paid my brother to do (I start calling people)
10. No one knows where Clayton or Daniel are.
11. I decide to drive 30 minutes away and see if I can find them.
12. 3 miles down the road Robert catches up to me and gives me his cell phone that Clayton had called him on.
13. Eventually retrieve lost residents of the same address as the narrator.
14. They are still talking to me which is good.

Things I learned from this experience:
1. Cell Phones are not always a bad thing.
2. What I thought I said is not necessarily what was said or what the other person thought I said.
3. Pulling an ox out of the ditch does not necessarily necessitate creating a ditch for your own ox to fall in.
4. Have a contingency plan.
5. In everything give thanks.
