| Top 10 Interesting Things I've Learned From Working at the Library10.) At least once a month you will get someone looking for "that book" -- the one that they don't know the name of, they don't know the author, they don't know what it's about, and they don't know where/who they heard about it from...
9.) If you're calm, patient, and creative, you can find the book referred to above :D
8.) The programmer(s) of Tipcat: -- a.) thought they were cute/smart -- b.) were in too much of hurry during the programming -- c.) don't understand the term "User Friendly" -- d.) didn't realize that a general search for "Pirate" and "Pirates" should bring up the same material -- e.) must have built in some form of viewing program that allows them to laugh at users getting stuck in redundant search loops and still not find what they were looking for in the first place :P
7.) It does'nt matter how big the sign is, nor how big the letters are, some people just cannot read "OUT OF ORDER"
6.) Shoes do NOT set off the security alarms
5.) You can't help but smile to yourself when you see the book "Sex for Dummies" on the reshelving cart at least once every other week (apologies to anyone that comment may offend, unfortunately that is NOT an exaggeration)
4.) At least 1/3 of the people visiting the library are only interested in knowing which computers they can use to log on to MySpace
3.) You suddenly realize that there are at least 2 dozen books, three seperate series, and at least forty movies that are absolute MUST sees/reads ... even though you've never even heard of them before
2.) Regardless of your job, everyone assumes you're a librarian -- librarians have to have a masters (and yes, I'm thinking about looking into getting one :D)
1.) It doesn't matter how slow things are, we're not allowed to have a book at the desk to read :P, lol
| Snowy Smiles...SNOW!!!!!! it makes me smile, and Jacq'e apparently like it as well, lol. I took her out to "go" and she kept running around and sniffing and sneezing the snow, very amusing. Then I made a snowball for her to chase and tossed it across the ground - Jacq'e went flying after it, but couldn't quite stop on the cold, slick ground. She slid past the snowball in a glittering cloud of loose snow becoming covered in the sparkly downfall of losse snow scattered by her sudden attempt to stop in the loose downfall. When she attempted to retrieve the loosely packed ball it crumpled into the snow (I didn't pack it tightly) and she was quite confused as to what had happened, continuously returning to the locations in an attempt to see if the ball had reappeared, lol – then she’d come running to me, I don’t think she quite realized that I was making a new snowball every time! lol, ah, that was good stuff, thought I’d share it for anyone that could use a smile

| Restless Heart...So I'm dicovering slowly but surely that once again things won't seem to go to plan...but now the questions that arise seem even more confusing and interlooping. I've already torn asunder one article of life due to the apparent lack of accurate and precise wording on my part (arguable, but not erally worth doing so) do I dare attempt to follow a flare that closely follows when I yet am not able (in my mind at least) to know the way of my own heart's needs? Why is this burden suddenly such a hasty issue, an ocean of uncertainty in which I seem unable to find any certain wind but only waves that threaten to strand me in the middle of such despair?
Ways of mine heart, Ever morphing I see; Mine eyes set apart, To safety I'ld flee.
Yet in this stormy gale, I seem moored fast; Holes torn in my sail, Keep me too near the past.
I seem run aground, On past faults piled high; Seem doomed to the sound, Of desparing cry.
I know what I've done, Know where I have failed; Where I ignored the Son, Where temptation's prevailed.
Stuck on this rock, I cannot seem to break free; Unable to dock, Where I know I need to be.
For prayers I do inquire, As this storm I fight; Many logs ready to fire, But I know not which to light.
Life's winding roads have crossed themselves and recrossed themselves erpteaedly in these last few weeks and of the final location I now seek I am not even sure, but one thing I know without pause or thought, that I cannot make this path alone.
Prayers for thought Prayers for action Prayers for open mind and Prayers for open heart
These are that which I most strongly request at this time. Thank you friends
| Curious...What should one do when his heart is screaming one thing and his head something else entirely? just wondering | | |
| Randomness....Okay, so it's cold (but I like it) and totally, incredibly, and otherwise completely gorgeous outside! THe trees outside my window are exploding with at least 2 dozen different colors/sahdes and I'm feeling the best I've felt in weeks. YAY! for sleep and sunshine! lol
To all my freinds, stay beautiful/handsome -- if you don't agree, youi're entitled to your opinion...even when it is wrong -- and Carpe' Diem!
<*hugs*> Laters!
