| UPDATE (6/2/08)
Not too shabby... _______________ What is this... a yearly blog? I completely forgot about this. oh well, I guess it's never too late to start over new. I'M BACK
So to completely start this from scratch (sort of) I'll decide to execute some new ground rules for myself. Most importantly, I'm gonna start capitalizing the first letter of the first word of each sentence. But enough of this boring crap. New song, woohoo! AGAIN, I'M BACK!
I don't even know why I'm writing this, and I'm typing away without thought. So don't critique my content just yet. Okay, where to begin. it's been a while, and I'm just about at the same exact place I was when I last wrote an entry: whining about wanting to let go and wake up when it's Christmas time. 'Cept I've been running a lot on the weekends these days. I dunno. I know it sounds dumb as fuck and I really should be studying for finals and all, but I hate how the last couple of weeks has been turning out. First I want something real bad then the next day I get it, and it causes nothing but hassles. And I know I just said I wanted it to be winter again, but damn it, I wanna go throw everything away and go live in Bora Bora or something (I saw a Korean travel program on TV yesterday (Sunday) and it was about Tahiti and French Polynesia). Kinda reminds me of that song, I'm Yours, by Jason Mraz. We watched this really corny movie called "Facing the Giants" or something in church, about an abnormally faithful, small-town high school football team facing all odds to go win the state championship. You could tell it was all fictional. But there was this one scene, and the coach blindfolds one of his best players and tell him to do this drill and give it his best. And the kid keeps yelling I'm tired, but ends up doing the drill for triple the length he thought he could do. I dunno. I'm not even supposed to be here. Hell, I'm sure you're bored to tears by now. _______________ Good night, and good studying. Oh and congratulations to all the seniors.
| ¡FELIZ DÍA DEL PAVO A TODOS! to celebrate this year's turkey day, I got this amazing google logo! and it's a little late, but I have the halloween one too, so... THANKSGIVING DAY/BREAK
we have two days off of school, but I'm too bored. I had more fun last year... =( nonetheless, I hope everyone enjoys their short break, and happy thanksgiving. STUFF
as usual, I got some uninteresting news, not involving you, to report. quite frankly, I have no clue why I post this crap, 'cos I'm pretty sure no one cares, but nevertheless, here goes. for a few weeks now, I've been talking to three spanish speakers (hispanohablantes), which I thought was really cool. one's living in chile and his name's manuel, another is in mexico and her name is esther, and the last is in spain and his name's jonathan. well, I haven't really been talking to jonathan, 'cos he's only online early in the morning 'cos, well spain's in the other side of the world, but still, it's really fun and interesting to talk to people outside of the U.S. or at least illinois. well here's something interesting... and I'm not trying to sound like some inconsiderate bastard; last week, one of my teachers, I won't say who, broke down and started crying. the reason? nCr. I know, it sounds kinda strange and out there, but she didn't want us to use nCr because she didn't "get how to use it". so, after someone mentioned it class, all hell broke lose. here's the horrible part. I found/find it funny, and I don't regret it. right now, I'm just sick of going to class every single day, and not learning a thing. the musical was pretty fun. it wasn't as bad as how people were telling me it was gonna be. but still, it wasn't anything like anything goes. the storyline lacked... a story. and for a comedy, it wasn't that funny. but a musical's a musical, and I liked the music. and it was performed really well. good job to pit and the actors. chamber was suicide. I haven't been so embarrassed in my life. I wanna crawl under a rock and never come out. I don't even care about the grade, I waivered the class. it's just we sounded like crap, and then some. thank you and good night. _______________ p.s.- new music, and 32 more days 'till Christmas! again, enjoy the rest of the break, and I'll see you all, hopefully on monday.
| gahhh! I haven't been on xanga in ages. so let's all take a deep breath and take a look at the recap of my life since the lucky 7/7/07 (and hope no sexual predators are too interested). JULY 2007
This is where we left off... AUGUST 2007
two thing, really. chicago, (skip summer school) and band camp. chicago
this was a lotta fun, but it could've been better if more people were there, but when I got to the school, it was just sam b., julia p., and mrs. jesse. then of course greg s. got there a half hour late... noticing that no one else is gonna be there, we decided to dismiss the bus and took mrs. jesse's air-conditioned car over to chicago, which is probably 100000000x better than taking the bus. car ride was pretty straightforward, we talked about the german exchange program thing... after arriving at downtown, we walked over to the cultural center which was formally the chicago public library. it's great how the president of diversity council had a thing or two to say about me and my "asian glasses", but as he would put it, he "hates everyone equally". the cultural center was pretty amazing (by amazing, it looks old) and there are names of all these famous writers on the arches, like emerson or homer, since, of course, it used to be the library... the place is rather big, and we got to see some art pieces, like the one with the heads of buddha on old bed springs, or the antiwar room. oh and we saw the first lady of chicago, mrs. daley, except sam. he missed it haha. afterwards, we decided to head on over to millennium park, first to the cloud gate, or as people call it, the bean. it's a great sculpture, but when you get close to it, it's not too sanitary. going under the bean is pretty fun, but it got kinda dizzy after a while looking up at it. then we went over to the pritzker pavilion and we heard some student jazz band group practicing. then we went to crown fountain, where it was just a bunch of little kids screaming and running around under one of the two towers with a person's face on it. except for one man who did NOT seem to fit in with the rest of the crowd, but I dunno anything about that. after a while, we decided that we were hungry and went out to find our own feast fit for the gods. we had some interesting conversation in giordano's pizza place, ranging from underaged drinking, to how teens look like when they smoke. after that we walked over to where the dance festival was being held. on the way, I saw two old women smoking and talking (and slowly but surely ruining their own lives), and when this woman talked, I swear it was like the video I saw of some person talking out of her throat. it was pretty disturbing. which is why I will mercilessly hate any of you if you ever attempt smoking. the dance festival was fun. I think it might've been one of those rare moments in my life that I've actually set foot on the dance floor. and all thanks to julia. it was a latin (spanish) music festival but for a bunch of the songs, they added a bit of irish twist to it, which was fun. more so for julia though. that's really it. we headed home and went home. photos? http://hs.facebook.com/album.php?aid=17518&l=5bbc9&id=615380010 band camp
haha band camp. but this post is getting long as it is. I'll cut is short for the sake of space. first day was pretty hectic, I think. I don't really know why, but we decided to spend some time INSIDE, in the sports center, which I don't remember ever doing my freshman year. so we all had to tell the freshmen to go over to the sport center, and then slepak gave his hour speech about responsibility and whatnot. I think we actually went outside for the last hour or something. I dunno. and the rest of the week was kinda the same stuff, 'cept we were outside all the time. the freshmen in my group were all basically nice kids, and weren't obnoxious or anything... 'cept two of 'em quit. shows how good of a leader we were. most of the blame, I put on nandita haha. the last two days of the first week were HORRIBLE! I don't even know why we need to have the sophomores and the upperclassmen there that week, 'cos all they do is nothing. I kinda missed having just the freshmen. maybe it's just me, or maybe was those two smartasses who weren't worth the trouble of trying to teach. SEPTEMBER 2007
school started, I got my permit, more cross country, enough said. OCTOBER 2007
right now, I really hate how the days are going. everything kinda stopped. nothing too exciting, nothing fun. it's just school and this horrible weather. I'm sorta convinced that the seasons shifted or something, 'cos 89 degree's in october??? or maybe I'm just crazy. I wish someone could whack me on the head and knock me unconscious for a few months and then I'll wake up two months from now, just in time for christmas season, and hopefully some snow. I'll be mad as hell if it doesn't start snowing 'till track season (february) like it did last year. ahhhhh I don't think I can wait 'till christmas this year. I don't even want presents. I just wanna go spend some time in the cold. I just wanna see some lights... _______________ oh yeah, you missed these while I was gone:
| hope everyone had a good independence day. at least some of you went to see fireworks? BEACH
the beach was pretty fun yesterday. especially burying austin and kenta in the sand, and being buried myself. man, I haven't had much time outside these days 'cept for running or playing tennis in the park, but I gotta go out more often... and it was burning yesterday (and today too) so I think it was like the perfect day for that, but the water was freezing and pretty dirty? eh, I saw something that looked like a tadpole, or a fish (?), floating around. FINAL EXAM
wow, world history final was thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis easy. 'cept one freshman in my class who stayed afterwards to finish it, but he always does that... so it doesn't count. and it's funny how everyone started freaking out right before the exam, but we've been studying all day for it. but then again, that's sorta our teacher's fault, 'cos he's been saying telling all of them how hard the exam is and all... still. it was eeeeeeeeeeeeeasy. JULY 7, 2007
7/7/07. apparently, it's the "luckiest day of the year". a lotta people getting married and all. I should do something today. maybe something amazing might happen. if not, the hell with this good luck day thing. whatever. have a good day. _______________
| UPDATE (6/11/07)
it's official! our xc training group has planned for the first run on monday, june 18, most likely around the school doing sea-loops or super-loops. eh, depends on how much planning I get done beforehand. so here's my sales pitch. what's so great about running? actually, I find it pretty darn boring too. but here's the thing; you'll be part of an amazing group, running over miles and miles of b-e-a-utiful des plains river and buffalo creek trails. and besides. our aerobic threshold runs and easy days will keep everyone sane with maybe some completely run-free days, doing the weight and ab exercises coach wanted us to do, but never found time for. so all-in-all, this isn't too horrifically difficult. okay, the so far confirmed people for training: keith m. kevin p. alex p. patrick m. spencer l. (?) matt s. (give me a call if anyone else wants to come along.) _______________ new music again DONE
school's over, finals is over, and I'm not a freshman anymore. that just made my day. _______________ have a good summer (more to them lucky people without summer school). POSTSCRIPT
hey for anybody out there who's gonna train over the summer for xc and/or just getting ready for track season in 2008... I'm thinking of making a small running group for running trails, 'round the school (for busy days), etc. I have two workout schedules right now, and we'll probably be starting with the easier one then move up to the one coach schauble assigned by the end of the summer. okey? always know it's so much easier, better, and more fun running with someone(s) your speed, than by yourself. so if you're interested just let me know. I'll print out the schedules for ya guys.
