I don't give a rat's ass where Clemens plays. I am, however, disgusted at his speeches about how much he loves playing for the yankees. If he was so happy there, why did he retire? Or, why didn't he just come back to them three years ago. Roger, just pitch. And the next speech I hear should just say something like, "I came to the yankees, not out of any true allegiance, so much as the fact that they are paying me a shit-ton of money. Oh yeah, I don't have to hang around when I'm not pitching, either."

Liverpool FC beat chelsea to go to the Champions Cup Final, again!!!! I love watching jose maurinho bitch after her team loses. It's pretty apparent to me that if chelski were the better team they would have won. It didn't serve Liverpool's best interest to play all-out attacking soccer after going ahead. That's why chelsea had the opportunities they had. Liverpool had between five and seven men back the whole second half. They knew that if they made it to extra time, and especially penalties, they had the best chance. AND THEY WON!!!!

I took my daughters to the Cincinnati Zoo today. We had a good time looking at the animals. I (and happily not the almost three-year-old) witnessed two acts of fornication at our first stop in the reptile house. And then she wanted to see the elephants. We did. On the other side of the elephant building is where they kept the giraffes. She wanted to see the giraffes. Evidently, however, the Cincinnati Zoo no longer has giraffes. But as we were coming around the building we walked right into:

The Bootsy Collins Exhibit. Man, he's tall. He was also a helluva nice guy. Unfortunately, the picture of Bootsy, Emma, and I didn't come out. But at least I have this one.

Here's the rub within the Major League baseball All-Star voting. I am a Red Sox fan, so I'm sort of partial, but I think that David Ortiz deserves to be an All-Star. I also think that Kevin Youkilis deserves the trip. However, since the game is in a National League city this year, Ortiz is on the ballot at first base, and Youk is not. What are the odds of enough write-ins to get one in to back up the other? I, for one, am alternating my ballots. And now, the Infield fly rule:

An INFIELD FLY is a fair fly ball (not including a line drive nor an attempted bunt) which can be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort, when first and second, or first, second and third bases are occupied, before two are out. The pitcher, catcher and any outfielder who stations himself in the infield on the play shall be considered infielders for the purpose of this rule.
When it seems apparent that a batted ball will be an Infield Fly, the umpire shall immediately declare “Infield Fly” for the benefit of the runners. If the ball is near the baselines, the umpire shall declare “Infield Fly, if Fair.”
The ball is alive and runners may advance at the risk of the ball being caught, or retouch and advance after the ball is touched, the same as on any fly ball. If the hit becomes a foul ball, it is treated the same as any foul.
If a declared Infield Fly is allowed to fall untouched to the ground, and bounces foul before passing first or third base, it is a foul ball. If a declared Infield Fly falls untouched to the ground outside the baseline, and bounces fair before passing first or third base, it is an Infield Fly.
Rule 2.00 (Infield Fly) Comment: On the infield fly rule the umpire is to rule whether the ball could ordinarily have been handled by an infielder—not by some arbitrary limitation such as the grass, or the base lines. The umpire must rule also that a ball is an infield fly, even if handled by an outfielder, if, in the umpire’s judgment, the ball could have been as easily handled by an infielder. The infield fly is in no sense to be considered an appeal play. The umpire’s judgment must govern, and the decision should be made immediately.
When an infield fly rule is called, runners may advance at their own risk. If on an infield fly rule, the infielder intentionally drops a fair ball, the ball remains in play despite the provisions of Rule 6.05 (L). The infield fly rule takes precedence.

But I've been busy. The new baby is a handful. She really is one of the most content babies I have ever been around, but even a content baby is a lot of work. I started taking bass lessons, and that has been awesome. I am starting to grasp a lot of what my teacher has been telling me. Other than that, Work, sleep, work, sleep.......

Could this be true? Not sure if this will actually happen or not, but the casting seems to be off to a good start.
