| Random Historical Note(RHN)Wednesday, October 25 is the anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt. This battle took place in France in 1415 during the Hundred Years War. Henry V of England crushed an attacking army of Frenchmen who were under a divided command. Henry V had only 1,000 men-at-arms and 5,000 archers. The French had somewhere between 20,000 or 25,000 soldiers including a few crossbowmen, a few cannons, thousands of knights, and thousands of men-at-arms. Henry V placed his men in a narrow V shaped wooded area, which in the end, negated the French numbers. The weather had been raining for the past few days and had been incredibly cold. The heavily armored French knights found themselves sinking in the mud and unable to reach the English Longbowmen. Needless to say, Henry V had an outstanding victory. The English had succeeded in slaughtering over 11,000 French soldiers at the cost of around 100 English casualties(that's including wounding, dead, and missing!). Immediately following the battle, Henry V proclaimed Nobis Domine(To God be the Glory!). The cool thing was that he had been intending to leave France, but in the end, succeeded in temporarily taking France and stopping the Hundred Years War; however, after his death in 1422, the war was once again renewed.
