LONG time no see!

Wow! It has been SO long since I posted on Xanga it seriously took me a few minutes to figure out how to do it! Sad ... so sad ...

Although I haven't posted in almost a year, I have been reading the blogs that I've been subscribing to. One blog I love reading is Tara's. I don't quite remember how I started receiving it, but I am always blessed by what she shares and has to say. She has a precious family, and she loves the Lord. I have a scripture reference from Proverbs 31 on my Xanga webpage, and she often makes me think of that passage of scripture as I read what she writes about her family and her love for our Savior. So, I invite you to check out her page here ~~> Tara.

I also always love what Dani and Amanda have to say ... these are two personal friends of mine who bless me each time I see a piece of their heart through something they've blogged ... I don't respond to what you write ladies, but I love and miss you both very much! When're you both coming home???? Will hug on your necks at the upcoming Retreat!

Life's been a little shaky lately, but God is ALWAYS good and we're simply trusting in Him with a childlike faith, knowing He is in control and nothing is happening without passing through His hands first. I continue to cling to Jeremiah 29:11 and Proverbs 22:6, praising Him through it all.

Keep us in your prayers as He crosses your minds with our family ... thank you.

Do you think it's a new record since I last posted? It probably is, but I have been so dad-gum busy lately! We're trying to get that building fixed up that we own in Texas City so we can sell it. You wouldn't even believe how much work it's been, and I'm not even down there! I'm just keeping track of what is being spent, tracking stuff down, etc. But, prayerfully, the building will sell quickly and that will be a closed chapter.

Speaking of closed chapters, it is actually possible that the whole Child Support thingy may be coming to an end soon too ... I made an offer to settle, which Paul accepted. Of course, he asked for 90-days to come up with the money, and he'll probably have moved to Chile by then, but it's a glimmer of light at the end of a long tunnel. I'm not spending any of the money yet, though ... you know the old adage, "Don't count your chickens before they've hatched." Until that money is actually in my bank account and marked, "CLEARED" by them, I don't have it. We'll know by Memorial Weekend. How can 90-days see SO far away??????

I'm taking three days off for Spring Break this week, and I am SO ready! I'll work around the yard, get caught up on all of the stuff that needs filing that has been piling up, and maybe ... just maybe ... take some time to sit outside and read. Wow, wouldn't THAT be nice!?!?!?

So ... now no one can say I don't blog any more ... cuz I did!

GIFTS

God has gifted us each … individually … abundantly. The questions are whether we exercise those gifts and do we use them for HIS purpose?

Beautiful, isn't it?

Amazingly, this was painted by an (are you ready for this???) eight … yes … that’s 8 ... as in, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8… year old artist named Akiane. Well, she was eight when she painted this. She is presently 14 and has been sketching, drawing and painting since she was four years old.

I received an Email from a friend of mine today about this young lady, and was SO impressed!! I just had to share …

Take a few moments to visit her website and look at some of her other pieces. I think you will be just astounded by the incredible inspiration and quality of her work.

DREAMS

Why do we dream? I don’t exactly know the answer, although I am sure there are plenty of websites out there who have it. What I do know is that my dreams are usually bizarre Daniel hates hearing the following words … “I had the weirdest dream last night …” because he knows they’re usually followed by a dissertation of information he can’t understand anyway, causing him to worry that his wife really IS insane!

Often, things in my daily life permeate into my dreams; especially when they are either issues that I’m struggling with or some stupid, random thing that was said or happened the night before, shortly before I went to bed. However, last night I had one of those dreams that you somehow know is significant, even though you don’t know why.

Before I go any further, there have been many times in my life when I have felt the Holy Spirit pressing me about something. I used to acknowledge it and then … BAM! It would happen and I would think to myself, “Gosh … self … I wish I’d thought to tell somebody about that, cuz now it’s happened!” A case in point is coming back from San Antonio one Sunday several years ago. I kept being pressed that we were going to have a tire blow out. I didn’t know why I kept feeling that way, but it happened two distinct times, causing me to slow down and be more “prepared.” And, while Daniel and Harrison slept and I drove, sure enough, we did have a blow out. Because I had felt the pressing, I was driving slowly, with two hands on the wheel, and never lost control of the car.

There have been other such times, and I’m really trying to learn to say something when it happens so I can say, “See! I told you!” DO NOT GET ME WRONG … I am NOT claiming to be some kind of clairvoyant or prophet here. I just know there are times when the Lord lays something on my heart … I just don’t always know why.

Well, back to my dream. I’m not sure what last night’s dream meant … but I am sure praying that it’s something favorable … and I’m going out on a limb and sharing it here … on Xanga … for EVERYONE to see (well, everyone who even reads this blog, at least!) J

You know about my Child Support issue … and Paul, etc. Whenever I have dreams that have Paul in them I usually just hate him. I know it’s wrong for a Christian to hate someone. However, I do, in my dreams at least. But last night I had a dream that Paul was in that was very different. I don’t remember exactly how he got into it, but suddenly he was there. And, he was being nice … supportive … kind … generous? Paul? Really????? So much so, in fact, that I actually was looking for my cell phone to call Hudson to give him the chance to come over and meet/see Paul while he was there. In my dream, someone had taken my cell and replaced it with some really lousy, archaic-type cell phone that I couldn’t seem to work, and I was getting really frustrated because Paul was going to be leaving. (NOTE: This was a continual theme in many of my dreams in the past … where I wanted to communicate something but would always dial a number wrong and have to start again … never ending up communicating what I wanted, etc.) I didn’t want to tell him that I was trying to reach Hudson and get his hopes up that Hudson might want to see him (what? I’m worrying about how Paul feels? Ok, this IS weird!) so I was getting frantic in trying to contact Hudson. Then the dream ended, with no resolution.

So, we have Paul, being cooperative … definitely weird! But, that’s the “hopeful” part. Could it possibly be that he’s about to cooperate with the whole Child Support issue?

Me, opening a door for Hudson to meet Paul … I’ve never been the one to close the door (I never would … Paul is, whether I now like it or not, Hudson’s biological father, and I will NEVER stand in the way of them seeing each other if that is what Hudson wants … I am not really concerned about it if only Paul wants it)

I don’t know … I guess I don’t usually share dreams or anything, and somehow I felt led to do so today. So, we’ll see what it all means.

Ha! If Brooks calls me today and says that Paul has accepted the offer and is actually going to give me money … I will surely be hearing the theme from the, “Twilight Zone” in the background … and questioning it.
