Well it has been much to long since I have been back to comment.

I must offer apologies to all. I am very overcome with service to the Lord at the ministry where I "work". It is such a blessing to get PAID to serve the Lord isn't it?

In the comment section of the last entry there was a very impassioned prayer request from Even_Roses_Have_Thorns that dealt with many issues. I feel so terribly sorry that I have not personally been able to respond but thank God that faithful servants such as mieyasha who is so full of the Spirit to take the time to do what the owner of this site (ME) should be doing. My plea is that I am asking that all that read this who are truly born again will pray and seek God's wisdom and favor to give discernment in helping Katie.

My time is very limited nowadays and I am truly sorry that I will not be able to participate on this site as I had thought I would. God is the one who creates and plans our lives and this day was ordained for me before the world was ever created. I will seek to check in as I can.

Basically what I am saying is PLEASE continue to bring your prayer requests here because there are still MANY visitors to this site every week and no doubt God is sending prayer warriors this way to lift your request before the Throne Room in Heaven.

Praise God.

I guess I should start over by opening up a new post. As I said, God has led me to make this site one of prayer and my prayer is that any requests that you have left here are being answered by the Lord. I know one certain prayer request has by someone who was trying to gain employment and I wanted to share the email with you:

"i sent u a mail saying that i was believing God for a bank job in Nigeria.

i know a lot of people were praying for me to get the job .
today i got a call from the bank saying their hiring me.

Isnt God AWESOME!"

I purposely left off the name due to privacy reasons, but if the person who wrote me this email wants to comment about it on this post, by all means feel free to do so. And yes, GOD IS AWESOME!

So please continue to lift each other up to the Lord and leave any prayer request you have and I will gladly place them with the ministry where I serve that is connected to literally THOUSANDS of prayer warriors with the gift of intercessory prayer.

One last thing, I do not want any comments regarding the last post regarding abortion and especially any comments about the remarks that were left by any person. If anyone chooses to leave a comment about the last post, I will just delete....pure and simple. This is no longer a debate site.

All the previous posts prior to God changing the direction of this site have ample evidence of why we can believe God does in fact exist and why we can trust the Bible to be God's Word amongst a myriad of other topics that can help you defend you own faith in Jesus Christ. But now we are focused on prayer and showing an unbelieving generation that God is indeed alive AND cares and LOVES you...no matter who you are or what you have done.

I also must apologize but for security reasons, I will now be asking any visitor to this site, to sign in first before veiwing the site. I pray you will be understanding.

So...with that being said...let the requests and praise reports commence.

Well, I am sorry to see what has happened with this post. Because I wanted to leave a link for someone whose site Xanga was rated X becaue it shows the horrible and sad truth about abortion, one person who had not commented here in a long time started what amounted to a war of words that was totally unnecessary and because of that, I will no longer allow that person to comment here.

I had been led of the Lord to turn this site into one of prayer and that it will continue to be so, but I also said I will from time to time add something if God indeed led me to share something that was of high importance.

The good news is that you can still go here www.xanga.com/the__portent and there you will see all the helpful links for any girl or woman in the very tragic state of having to decide whether or not to have an abortion. With that said, I must WARN you that the site does tell the TRUTH about abortion in very graphic detail with many of the links you will find there. There are only a few pictures, but these pictures, just like those of the holocaust MUST be shown so others may know the TRUTH about abortion. Please go there at your own leading and risk.

Just keep in mind, the vast majority of the site is filled with links with which to help others thinking about abortion or if you just need more education of what exactly abortion is. That is why I am going to leave this VERY graphic link here:

In case pictures don't do you justice, perhaps video will....I don't know. That is between you and God. But I do know as Christians, we are never to shy away from the Truth.

I am closing the comments on this now after seeing what has transpired. I apologize for the first few who commented that left kind and honest remarks. I have not been able to give the attention to this site as needed due to personal conflicts in my life not giving me the time to be here lately.

The spinal decompression therapy has been very intense and 4 days a week. I leaves me worn out afterwards. Plus, I have had to deal with the death of the husband of someone I served with at church and she is not doing well. This morning at church I found out her Father was in the hospital due to heart problems which is what killed her husband. Praise God he is doing well and the prognosis is good. When I visited him today, the Doctors said he should be out by this Tuesday so we certainly give God praise for that.

Thanks to all who have given your prayer requests. As promised I have and am bringing them before our host of prayer warriors.

If you have any praise reports of your request that has been answered, please share it with us so we may give glory to our God and King that others may witness His goodness. I want to change this nation and the only way we can do that is to humble ourselves and pray to our Creator who knows ever fiber of our being.

I would ask that you continue to leave your requests. If I haven't gotten back to you personally either on my own site or visited your site to speak with you I will. If I haven't visited you yet, please let me know. I want everyone to know that their request is just as important as the next person's and I don't want any person to feel left out.

Let's give it ALL to God shall we?

Let us pray that the skeptics, agnostics and unbelievers will see the recorded praise reports that we have given and that God will reach deep in the recesses of their hearts to effect change unto salvation.

Well friends, as you know this site has been a site dedicated to defending the faith, to help any who come here with questions or objections to hopefully help them find answers that in turn they can use to answer critics, skeptics and unbelievers as Peter admonishes us in 1 Peter 3:17. Many of you have come here for a long time and I invite you to continue to do so and tell other to peruse the many entries that have been made if it will help them in defense of their faith in Christ.

It is obvious that I haven't been able to update lately. I would like to ask you to continue to pray for the family I mentioned in the last post. They are continuing to undergo extreme attacks from the enemy after having lost both a mother and their daughter. I cannot even begin to bring to you the details of what they went through at the funeral of their precious 3 year old daughter. Satan has hit them every which way he can, but praise God, they are standing firm in Jesus Christ.

What God has laid upon my heart is to take a turn in this site from one of apologetics to one of prayer. Because of the ministry of which I am employed, I have the ability to take any prayer request you leave on this site and bring it before literally over 100,000 prayer warriors who are willing to intercede on your behalf before our awesome God.

So beginning now, if you have a request for yourself or someone you love or care about, please by all means leave your petition here and I will bring it before our army or prayer warriors. I have seen God answer so many prayers and I know He can do the same for you as well. I would like to be able to make it where there can be a box for the requests and a separate box for the prayer requests that God has answered. If anyone can help show me how to do that (if it is even possible) it would be greatly appreciated. Also, we will most certainly make sure God is glorified on this site as prayers are answered. I will do my best to check on an almost daily basis for requests and give updates.

One other thing, for those who have been coming here for the sole purpose of hoping to insult me or my brothers and sisters in Christ by profane and immature rants, you will find your comment deleted and yourself blocked...and your name on the prayer list that God will work to bring about change in your own heart.

Thank you all for your patience as we make this transition. Tell as many people as you feel comfortable to come here and leave their requests.

I wanted to offer my apologies for not updating lately. AND OOPS...I just realized that I didn't have comments enabled. Sorry about that.

For the last two weeks I have been heavily involved in helping to minister to a family whose 3 year old daughter passed away earlier today due to severe compilations of cerebral palsy. Please keep this family in your prayers. They had no money to cover the cost of the funeral or any other expenses that go with that because both the mother and the aunt whose house they are staying at are both disabled. But praise God it has truly been an inspiring thing to watch the Body of Christ put feet to their faith and it is with the honor of the Lord that I report to you that ALL costs have been taken care of by people that this family will never even get to know on this earth.

As corny as the old saying is, God does indeed work in mysterious ways. I just receive an email from Blythe's aunt. I want to share this part with each of you. "God has used Blythe to reach so many people. I received a letter from a young man who accepted Christ after hearing Blythe's story. Even though she couldn't talk, travel, etc she still had her own ministry." Isn't that just like OUR God?

Something else I want you to know and be in prayer about; the father of the little 3 year old girl is an alcoholic. I was talking to a young woman who lost her little daughter just last November and she was going to call the family to offer her empathy. On her way home, she was hit head on by a drunk driver. She was let out of the hospital today, but has a fractured skull, ruptured spleen and several other internal injuries.

I spoke to her last night and her spirits are very high because of this...the father of the little girl who is the alcoholic heard about what happened, and from what I was told, it literally broke him down. Now, being an alcoholic, he is far from being out of the woods just yet so please keep him in your prayers. His name is Joshua. The mother's name is Stephanie. The little girl that is forever pain free...as you now know...her name is Blythe. She has a precious little sister that does not understand what has been and is going on. She will not know why Blythe is no longer here. She is two years old. Her name is Riley.

Please keep this family as well as their in-laws Michelle and Robert in your prayers. It has been at Michelle's house where hospice had been set up while Blythe slowly began the dying process. They are all in need of your prayers, and I KNOW you are a praying people.

Thank you for allowing me to bring this to your attention. If you feel led, please let your church groups know and put them on their prayer lists. It would be greatly appreciated.

Well good morning everybody. It has certainly been awhile since I have checked in. I wanted to give you a quick update and let you know that God is hearing your prayers. Since I last updated, God has been working in many ways in my life to restore my health and begin the healing process on my back. I am looking forward to great days of good health that lay ahead and I wanted to say a personal "thank you" to all of you who have lifted me and my family to the Lord.

I also wanted to take a few minutes and share some thoughts about God’s Word as it is our daily bread to help us grow in the Lord for without it, the Christian life is certainly doomed to a life of staleness and spiritual rigor mortis. This is something God has been convicting me of and I want to bring this to you and open my heart regarding this subject.

I think many people believe that the Bible is just a book to read just to get information about God. While that is one thing that it is, it is hardly the only thing. The Bible, if you read it in an attitude of prayer asking God to reveal His Truth to you, will become a source for TRANSFORMATION. The words found in the Bible are the very Word of God, and they are able to affect and change your heart as you meditate on them. And that is the key word…meditate. We can’t just read God’s Word as we would a suspense novel. We must meditate on it. This is what the Bible claims for itself: It is a perfect treasure that changes us, enlightens us, judges us, equips us, and makes us grow spiritually.

One of my favorite Scriptures in the entire Bible and of the first I memorized comes from Joshua 1:8 which says:

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

So I ask you, where does the Word of God belong? In your mouth and your heart. This verse talks about "this book of the law" which is referring to the five books of Moses, Genesis through Deuteronomy. But you can take this command and expand it to ALL the Word of God. The command is that it should not depart from your mouth. In other words, it should be a part of your vocabulary all the time. You should be speaking about Scripture and the things Scripture is concerned with at all times.

How can that happen? It will happen when you meditate on it day and night. It is really a very simple principle is it not? If you saturate your mind and your thoughts with the Word of God it will come out in your speech. If you saturate your mind and thoughts with the images and language of today’s MTV hip-hop culture, then naturally your thoughts and speech will reflect the same. Proverbs 23:7 tells us that "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he". Jesus said, "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks". Matthew 12:34 I think it should be obvious by now that if your heart is full of the Word of God, that’s what is going to come out of your mouth. Before that can happen, you have to fill your heart with the Word. That is why meditation is so important.

When you spend time meditating on the Word of God, when you read a verse over and over and contemplate its meaning, it begins to fill your heart. I believe that is why God gave us a book and not a music video. A music video just goes flying by our minds eye, jumping from one angle to the next, bombarding you with images, and then….POOF….it is gone. Think about it. Even your favorite movie just washes over you like a wave and then recedes. Our experience of it is just a fleeting moment. But words on a page are frozen there permanently. You can go back to the same page, the same verse, over and over, and keep meditating on it. You can compare and contrast it to other verses. You can synthesize what several verses say and interpret them carefully. That is meditation, not just a momentary encounter with the Truth, but IMMERSION in it. Putting His Word in a book was the best way God could put a tool in our hands that would teach us to meditate.

If you meditate on the Bible every day and every night, it will start to come out of your mouth. I am not talking about becoming a zombie where you forsake all responsibilities and have your nose stuck in the Bible 24/7. No, I am talking about trading out the time that you might normally spend listening to your favorite radio station or TV show and exchange that for time in God’s Word. If you begin to do this, you will notice that your speech will be "gracious and seasoned with salt" as Paul talks about it Colossians 4:6. It will be the kind of talk that edifies, building others up rather than tearing them down as Paul talks about in 1 Corinthians 14:26 and 1 Thessalonians 5:11.

Remember what Joshua said? The purpose of meditating on God’s commands is "that you may observe to do according to all that is written". The purpose is not just knowledge but OBEDIENCE. The promise here is that meditation will ultimately produce changed behavior because our hearts will be saturated with the Word of God.

David asks in Psalms 19:14, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord my Strength and my Redeemer." He is asking, "O Lord, please govern and guard my meditation on my heart." Why? Because that is what is going to show up in my behavior.

As the Bible begins to shape your Christian character and life, it brings blessing. It promises that if you meditate on the Word, speak the Word, and LIVE the Word, your way WILL BE PROSPEROUS and you will have good success. This is the real "prosperity Gospel"…not the false message that God wants everyone to get rich quick. God does NOT promise to make you prosperous just because your want of material things. God promises to bless your spiritual life and your spiritual endeavors with success through the deep understanding and application of Scripture.

You might be thinking, "I can’t do this". Of course you can! You can spend hours playing video games that desensitize your brain to sex and violence can’t you? Or watch T.V. programs that promote promiscuity and godless lifestyles? Or what about listening to rap or rock music that glorifies everything but living for God? I believe EACH of us can do something where we can take time out of our day, trade something out in order to spend time in God’s Word.

I want to challenge anyone who is willing. Starting this day, February 7, 2006, let us covenant together that for the next 7 weeks, we will spend some time every day….yes EVERY day…meditating on God’s Word. One of today's great Bible teachers...Woodrow Kroll I think it is, suggests reading the book of 1 John every day for the first week. Of course in doing so, there will be certain verses each day that stick out, verses that you will want to meditate on. That is where I am going to start....reading 1 John each day for one week, until next Tuesday. Of course you can wait until an official start day like Sunday or Monday. I will share any thoughts that come to mind while meditating in the comments section.

Hello, I HAD to put up that pic because I, along with many of you are experiencing the Truth of that verse on a daily basis.

Quick update: I have been going through more procedures...then some more procedures, and then another procedure or two. After having my follow-up meeting with the Doctor last week, we decided that we have done all we can try to do just short of surgery on my spine. (It's really whacked out) But, the Lord has been teaching just how merciful He is to me. I talk to people on a nightly basis that remind me that the "pain" and "problems" I have...are NOTHING. At least not when compared to others.

Yes, I do have an 11 year old son who is an insulin dependant diabetic. And yes, I do have degenerative disc disease along with bone spurs and arthritis all up and down my spine from the base of my skull all the way down do my tail bone. But you know what fascinates me the most through all of this. I KNOW without one hint of doubt, that my GOD can heal me if He so chooses. Right now, as I sit here, writing this entry and live, if I were to add up everyone in my family, my church family, my work family (and where I work we are like family) and then add in all the listeners who tune in each night, by even the smallest of estimates, there are literally hundreds if not thousands praying for God's intervention in my life to heal me.

But guess what? I don't think that God will heal me...at least not yet. Don't get me wrong; I KNOW He can and He WILL if He so chooses. You see not counting me or my wife and family, there have been hundreds of strong Christian brothers and sisters in the Lord who have prayed for the healing of my back. Well....it hasn't come...yet. It may come, I don't know. I hope it does because sometimes, well, it just isn't very much fun.

I know that when I first started this site over a year ago, I was daily getting barraged from all sides....many of them pagans and wiccans proudly proclaiming they were going to curse me. I would always say "Bring your biggest stick" because my spiritual gift of faith itself is enough to make most neo-pagans walk away embarrassed. I am not afraid of ANY curse from ANY druid, warlock, wiccan, worshiper of the ancient gods of old and all the numerous neo-wiccans and pagans along with those "old fashioned" witches who like to call it "practicing the craft". I pity them actually. My heart breaks for them and yearns for them to know the TRUTH. What is Truth? We have discussed it many times within the pages of this site. But the bottom line is...Truth is a Person. Who is that Person? Remember John 14:6?

Jesus said, "I am the WAY and TRUTH and the LIFE. NO MAN can come to the Father but by Me."

Well there you have it my friends. Jesus IS the Truth. He is Truth personified. Take a few minutes and think about this as objectively as you can. Pray that God would help you be honest and objective enough to look at that statement and discover just how powerful and liberating it is. Jesus is saying "I am the TRUTH". We need not look any further than Jesus and His Spirit (Of which He freely sends to all as a gift on the day they themselves repent from the lifestyle of corruption, sin and deceit and give them all away) and receive the hand of the Man who went through so much pain just so that you and I wouldn't have to. He went to war on our behalf. He defeated Satan at the cross. And now all those whom Satan has fooled with his myriad religions, covens and avatars etc; etc...They too follow the one who is the loser. Yet will this knowing loser stop fighting even though he knows that he has ultimately lost it all and he too will be judged?

NO!

He will NEVER stop fighting! Many of those who unwittingly follow this great deceiver continue in their religious zealotry and hatred of any person(s) who dare take a stand and say RIGHT IS RIGHT AND WRONG IS WRONG. Yes, again on this site, I am talking about absolute TRUTHS and why these Truths are worth fighting and even dying for. There are so many on this philosophical mind trip who never know for sure when to take a stand or when to stand down except when those above them give them the orders they need to make it through another day. Why? Because sadly, they have no value system based on absolute Truth to base their moral, ethical and philosophical decisions upon. They let others make these decsions for them and they just fall in line. In other words, they don't want to upset the apple cart by taking a stand against or for something that might go against the status quo...that would be politcally incorrrect and possibly be offensive to others.

Hmmm, why do we have laws? Just a thought.

I have tasted of this great and mighty struggle in the spiritual realm for over 20 years now. I will fight the Good Fight in the realms of man and spirit for the hearts, minds and souls of man until the day I die. Some recently desired to make that day come sooner rather than later. Yet again, I do not fear what others may TRY to do to me. I stand under the Blood of Jesus. I am not without sin but shall one day be. Just as all of us are who have been re-born of the spirit as Jesus talks about to Nicodemus in John Chapter 3.

I do greatly appreciate ALL the kind and uplifting comments from my last entry. I also appreciate those who left comments that were less-than-kind. That is ok...it gives us a target to aim for when we go on our knees in intercessory prayer for those who are SO woefully lost without the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Great King. He IS coming back soon to once and for all set us free from these chains of sin and these chains of self. We can and WILL BE FOREVER FREE.

The times are getting closer. Those on the occult end of the spiritual spectrum know that something is up because the demons they unknowingly worship are very restless. We must ALWAYS be ready to give an account of why we believe what we believe.

That is all for now. I must get some rest. Big things will be happening soon so stay tuned and when attacked, may your defense be of sound doctrine with a restful, educated and objective reply that cannot just be refuted with only subjective emotionalism.

Remember; we are called to fight the GOOD FIGHT.

Now, put on your FULL armor of God. For the Devil's tactics are at work even now. You will see in some of the comments that follow. Be patient...God will give you clarity and a sound mind along with a sense of urgency when it is your time to reply. In God's good grace, I too shall reply soon I pray. Hey all. Long time no see. Well, here's an update:

For the last couple of months I have been and am going through a series of procedures that with much prayer will help me with what is basically a very messed up back. I have had back problems for almost 20 years and have been told that I have arthritis all through my spine along with disk degenerative disease and even bone spurs up and down my spinal column.

I am currently going through a series of facet join injections along with nerve blockage procedures amongst other things. They are keeping me on different pain and muscle relaxing medication as sometimes the pain from muscle spasms has been next to unbearable. However, God is SO good. He continually shows me His love as His Spirit works in my life to carry out His will. I am daily humbled by His grace and mercy on my life.

I am not going to close the site but will leave it up for I will add to it as God leads. For now I just wish to share with you some of my favorite pictures that I pray may be an encouragement to you as you live your life walking daily in His Grace.
