    Getting Ready for Move

It's been a pretty eventful summer so far.  We've gone to Busch Gardens twice, which is an amusement park close to where we live.  We went to Savannah for a little vacation.  My oldest brother got married last weekend.  And, at the end of this month, we will be moving to Norfolk.  We're so excited, especially considering that we both drive 35+ miles a day, one way, to work and school.  It's going to be a lot closer of a drive for us now.  It's been nice and hot here, I think there's been about 4 or 5 days that it's hit 100 degrees.  Coupled with the insane humidity, it's been pretty unbearable at times.  I'm getting ready for a little 4th of July bash now, everyone should arrive in the next hour or so.  Josh and I have a good life going out here.  Now that it's been about a year, I can say pretty assuredly it was a smart move.  Josh was chosen to direct a film in the fall that's endowed by the school, so he's going to have a $15,000 budget to use for a 10 to 15 minute film, so that's a pretty big deal.  There's not really that much else going on with us.  Just wanted to let everyone know that we are still alive and whatnot.

    It's overwhelming...

I've watched seven episodes, back to back, for the last five hours, of Sex and the City.  I'm definitely getting ready for the big movie, May 30th, it will be an exciting day.  It was a good week, what with the return of The Office and all.  Many note-able, quote-able moments, but I think I'll let everyone relive the moments themselves.  I saw Explosions in the Sky on Friday at the Norva, and it was a pretty awesome show I must say.  Packed, like sardines, of course, but awesome nonetheless.  I'm supposed to get my car back this week, so I'm really looking forward to getting it back, and I hope that it feels like a new car, since pretty much the entire front half is going to be brand new.  Our friend, Britt, has let me use his car for the last week and a half, which has been a big help, considering renting a car for three weeks can really be financially draining.  It's been a good day, I've been relaxing, and cleaning a little, when the urge struck me.  Josh will soon be finished with school, only a few more weeks, then we're heading down to Savannah for a little vacation, so that's really exciting.  I've been reading a little more, I finished Gilead last week, and am currently reading The Alchemist, an easy read.  I watched Becoming Jane last week, and it reignited my interest in Jane Austen, so I purchased, via Amazon, two Jane Austen biographies, and a paperback compilation of her six novels.  Life's been pretty good lately, that's for sure....

  • Accident Time

Well, I had my first serious car accident on Saturday. It definitely could've been so much worse than it was, but it was still a pretty traumatic event. I was right outside of a building Josh was in at school, so thankfully he was able to rush outside immediately. It's a pretty big bummer, I'm going to be car-less for at least a week I'm guessing. I decided to do a u-turn from the right lane and failed to notice a car coming up beside me in the left lane. They honked and swerved, I slammed on my brakes, but I was still hit. It felt like so little impact, I was just kind of annoyed that I was going to have to deal with it at all. But, my door wouldn't open, and I climbed out the passenger side, and discovered, that in fact, my entire bumper was torn off the car. The grill is cracked, a headlight busted. Lots and lots of metal was hanging and scraping the ground. I'm certainly in mourning for my car. Especially since I can't drive Josh's car, so I have to get a rental, which gets pretty costly. It was very fortunate that the accident occurred on a road that very little traffic is on, and that the other car involved wasn't damaged too badly. The people in the other car were extremely nice about it, too, considering I was apparently trying to reenact some kind of chase scene from a movie. I'm okay by the way, like I said, the impact was very minimal. But this whole situation is really lame-o. Bummer.

We watched Once the other night, and I have to say, it's probably the best film I saw from 2007...and maybe one of the best of my entire life.  It was unbelievable, a definite must-see.  Also, the music is incredible (it is a musical of sorts).  You have to get the soundtrack for sure.
