erik, nat, iowa, 07 outline End of the day, heading home over the river.

So, when I was in Iowa, a couple of weekends ago, I had a pretty fabulous time.  Why did I go to Iowa?  Well, my cousin Erik has been working down there all summer, and from what I could gather, was about to rip his eyeballs out from boredom.  So, I went down and spent a weekend with him.  All these pictures are from one afternoon/evening.  We kept busy, and had a really good time.  We stumbled across a carnival/fair, walked the length of Clear Lake City (which was almost completely deserted), got some food at the grocery store and ate by the river, went out for ice cream, and stayed up til three in the morning watching a movie and half a dozen Cosby Show episodes.  Yup.  It was fun. :D

I just re-realized that I will be voting for the next presidential candidate!  *feels like squealing, but doesn't know how to squeal*  Can you believe it?!?!  I'm going to be 18 next year............No, it can't be so soon!! But it is!  That means...I'm going to be 17 this year!!  But I'm not done being 16, I've barely started!!  I've still got about three months left, phew.  Wow, time flies......and in two years I'll be starting college.  *eyes glaze over*  that's too soon that's too soon that's too soon  ah!!!!  it's just scary.  *sighs*  oh well, since I can't freeze time, I suppose I should embrace growing up!!  *folds arms defiantly*  oh heck, what am I saying.

I got my permit today!!!!  And, I drove out and about.  Crossing highways, merging, yielding, stoplights, stopsigns, even a biker and some pedestrians.  It was a very full drive.  Ok, I'll admit, so I was a teensy bit swervy.  Yeah yeah, I don't need to correct myself overly with the steering wheel, cause then, well, you know...

At one point *whispers*I kind of drifted off the road, *slightly* but dad warned me (note: I was looking over my shoulder, I can't multi-task in a car yet, not one iota.) and I swerved back into my lane.   Some probably thought that I'd perhaps snuck one under the counter, or something, but honestly, I didn't.  I was alcohol free, and honestly not a terrible driver.
