a lovely sunday * the weather is too wonderful in London !!
Hot, Sunny, Balmy - makes working hard so difficult!! Am lucky that part of "work" includes going round all the fantastic galleries and auction houses though ! Had lunch at Royal China Club with Christine, Anne, Erin and Grace , haha Christine said we had a 'sex and the city' moment hahahaha. Then walked down Bond Street and went to Bonhams, Sotheby's and Christie's to their Chinese Ceramics/Photographs/Contemporary Art preview . Christie's updated Website is so much better now!!! Walked home and passed by all the lovely people basking under the sun - went to Sainsbury's and then took all the free weekend magazines! Looking forward to going to exhibitions at White Cube, Haunch of Venison, National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery!!!! Am enjoying the end of the wkend and watching 'Legally Blonde' Spent Saturday at the British Museum , went to see American Scene: Prints from Hopper to Pollock + Fascination with Nature, then had Korean food with muimui for lunch * up on sale at christies * RICHARD AVEDON (1923-2004) Nastassja Kinski and the Serpent, 14 June 1981 oversized gelatin silver print, printed 1982 signed and numbered '14/200' in pencil on mount and overmat; copyright credit reproduction limitation, edition and title stamps on reverse of mount 29 x 43 1/8in. GAVIN BOND (b.1931) Gisele, 2006 oversized chromogenic print signed, dated and numbered '1/1' in ink on label on backing board 60 x 40in. (152.5 x 102cm.)
Bond has been fascinated since his very beginnings as a photographer by the atmosphere and picture possibilities of the frenzied moments backstage at fashion shows. A feature published in The Independent Magazine on 26th October 1996, when he had just graduated from St Martin's College of Art, demonstrated his precocious skill in this area. The present image captures star model Gisele Bündchen backstage at a Victoria's Secret show -- a context of high-fashion erotica with a Latin American carnival twist perfectly expressed by Bond's glamorous subject.
MICHEL COMTE (b.1953) Gisele Bündchen, 1999 oversized chromogenic print, printed 2008 signed by photographer, titled, dated and numbered '1/3' in another hand in pencil on typed credit label on backing board 60 x 48in. (152.4 x 122cm.)
Taken for Italian Vogue, Comte's image, accentuated by smudged eye make-up and half-smoked cigarette, proposes an edgy interpretation of modern glamour. wanna buy MAC COSMETICS MOISTURELUSH CREAM, £21.50 PERFECT FOR DRY SKIN This innovative new face cream from MAC Cosmetics boasts a rich texture that glides on effortlessly to give skin a dewy, silky finish.
